Just went to the Goodwill in San Antonio or he first time. The store is really big with a huge floor plan for all dorts of goodies. Theres shoes, clothes house wear ad all sorts I goodies to choose from. The store is pretty full with people looking for the best bargains. Everything is tagged and everything with the orange tag was half off. I was shopping for my nephew some shorts and found six really nice pair along with a few things got my self. All that for 30.00. Great selection & prices! You need to have patience, but the groupings by sizes definitely make your search a lot easier. They allow returns for credit now bc the dressing rooms are closed due to pandemic. read more

This place is terrible! I went to Exchange something that was clearly broken, and they would not accept return. It was within the seven day window with receipt. I donate tons of stuff to Goodwill, I don't appreciate them selling me junk that I can't use. Thanks a lot. read more

I'm a worker that used to work at the culebra store (157) gonna list some stuff while I was there (Ps this "Maybe the biggest lesson to take away from working for a bad manager is this: When you find yourself in a supervisory role, remember how it felt to work for that person, and think about how you can be an effective leader without resorting to the same behaviors." Quinn the first thing I was asked was if I wanted part time or full time, I said part time and he instantly shot me down saying "we're not doing that" (why even give me a choice right?) after a while of working I noticed Brian would try anything to say to make you feel inferior or to say the least, stupid as hell(even if he wasn't right he'd persist) along with telling me no about getting part time he included that "us managers are not above doing anything that anyone does here" my time being there all the mangers have done were hide, disregard you entirely, if you asked a question they'd stare at your blankly in the face not knowing what to think of, and the 2 outcomes were "I don't know" and run away from the problem or just not answer and run away. Speaking of which, my coworker Donovan asked Brian a question, Brian proceeded to put his hand up to my coworkers face (as in talk to the hand) saying get back to work, my years of working I knew that Brian was by far my worst boss and most unprofessional. Following on about the mangers, Kim the assistant manager can never remember the slightest things and would tell you to throw away the garbage while you're already doing so in front of her, standing next to the trash compactor, (so in short she's like Dory, that might not be good for the company) Carmen who is team lead will always gossip, as well as try to make you get on her side about coworkers she didn't like, always passive aggressive. She also had said "Brian won't get away with what he did or how he treated me" so I'm guessing Brian wasn't that good to his managers. Peyton (who was the new GM when Brian switched stores, which he also did not that long ago. Apparently the 157 store went through 5/6 new GMs when Brian gave a speech, doesn't look good on a store.) would always sneak off to smoke his vape, trying to avoid any manger duties. That's about what I can say to sum my time working there, only last two things I can put is most of the workers there have whispered around that working with Brian was like having your dad come home mad all the time and all the donation attendants all want to quit from how unorganized the management is about their work as well as them treating us of the low of the low (like we're slave) even though they would always proudly say "the donation attendants are the reason why we have work coming in for us and what holds up the stores, they are the backbone! :D!" Then continue to mistreat us and not help. Sorry for writing a bit, had that on my mind for a while. This is one of the Goodwill stores on the Northwest side of town and while it is a modest sized location in comparison to some of the more central stores, it is a great place for thrift store deals! This location is predominantly dedicated to clothing but it does have a small selection of furniture, a decent number of household goods, electronics and books. Like most Goodwill locations, it is run by volunteers/and a small full time staff. I have never had a bad experience with anyone at the registers or when I have questions. One downside is that this location does not tend to have a lot of linens, bed sheets, or other fabric goods of this nature, but this is a minor knock. The store is clean and open [with the exception of when people swamp it on the weekend, but this is a side effect of very rude shopping behaviors, which the staff combats to the best if its ability] and they keep a good selection and constantly new products on the shelf. They run the standard "weekly color" deals, with the select color of clothing, linen, and shoes discounted $2 on Sunday and Monday, and $1 the rest of the week. As a bonus, you can also drop off donations around back, with help unloading and tax donation slips available on request. read more

This is one of my favorite goodwills in SanAntonio , I've found so many of my favorite clothing items I own here. The prices are decent , (4$ for most shirts and dresses and 7$ for pants and such). They are pretty organized for the most part , they have quite a big selection and I always manage to walk out with at LEAST two great finds. I've honestly walked out of here with bags on bags of super great finds. I can't say enough good things about this location , their house-ware section is pretty incredible too, I have to restrain from buying unnecessary items so my girlfriend won't get mad me but otherwise 10/10 , I love this place. Customer service is bad but I mean I feel like that's basically expected at goodwills. Stop by ASAP for a great thrifting adventure! read more

This location has great home decor items. And generally up-to-date clothing. They have a color tag of the week. If the article of clothing is marked with that color tag it makes it 50% off. I've gotten a lot of great deals here and can't find another location that comes close to the selection. The have a generally good selection of children's shoes as well. read more

Goodwill Store and Donation Station - Thrift Stores Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

Went in over the weekend to get some old clothes to work in. Got what I needed, but the staff I found were very rude.

This Goodwill location has the worst customer service! I have been turned away on 3 separate occasions because the workmen who help unload donations don't want to unload heavy furniture. I know better than trying to bring items that are not accepted, and don't. So far they would not unload a couch, a dining room table with 6 chairs and a bedroom set without mattress and box springs. These items are not broken and are just pieces of furniture my parents no longer need (they are downsizing). From now on, I won't bother. I'd rather go up the road and donate at Salvation Army where I am met with helpful staff. read more

This is the go to thrift store for my wife and I. The store is clean and service is friendly. The real reason we come here is because the stock seems to rotate pretty quickly! That means there is always something new. read more

Will NEVER donate to Goodwill again. Went to drop off two big bags of unused clothes and was told they were not accepting donations but to come back in an hour. What a crock! I asked if they had a trash dumpster I could just dump it in - he again said come back in an hour. I donated to a better cause. I will get 20+ people to never donated to Goodwill again. This locale is in the middle of an expanding middle income area and the donations are in good shape and of reasonable quality for the price compared to other stores/locations which take in alot more junk at the same prices read more

This Goodwill is clean and the staff is super friendly. I am not a fan of the flat price on everything because often super cheap labels are priced the same as designer ones. That is a good thing and a bad thing. They do offer tag sales once a week (which I have yet to go on the first day the tag switches over because I've heard its crazy in there) and I have yet to find anything on sale but the clothes are clean and organized. I pop in here looking for home decor. I have found some awesome bargains on nice home decor and women's clothing. The shoe section is not great as well as the kids clothing section. No toys. Prices are $4.29 for shirts, $7.49 for jeans, and $6.99 for shoes and more for higher end shoes. A little overpriced for my taste but it is what it is. Overall I would recommend this store! read more
