Although, I love thrifting and finding affordable treasures, Goodwill is not one of my favorite spots. I find that most of them have increased their prices to a ridiculous amount. Some of the items I find are over $20 dollars and not worth 1/2 that price. Unfortunately, the closest thrift store to me, is this Goodwill, so I visit it regularly. For this trip, I found a few items that I ended up leaving, and some were definitely too over priced. I have purchased some great items here and there, with excellent prices, but not today. The place has a good amount of items and staff can be friendly and helpful, so I don't mind ending up here once a week. Plus, they relatively organized and clean. I would recommend coming here because every so often, amidst the higher prices, there are some hidden treasures, such as a set of hard cover new books that sold for way less than the ones on the original sellers site. But it does take dedication and time, which is definitely a luxury. read more

You never know what you're going to find at Goodwill. I have been to multiple locations lately and it's always a fun event to dig through shelves and racks to find hidden treasure. I normally go for books, music and accessories. I'm always on the lookout for crafts but don't ever seem to find any worth purchasing. The only issue I've noticed is that most stores have an odor that immediately hits you the second you walk in. Perhaps the stores need to invest in deodorizers or something. The Cibolo location reeks of dog. The IH10 location reeks of old/dirty clothes. read more

A good selection of items! A few of us stopped in to do some thrifting and found some pretty unique finds. There were a ton of like-new, if not new, items if you searched thoroughly enough, especially in the shoe section. I was surprised to see so many shoes with their original tags and stickers still on them. There wasn't a lot of variety in the large furniture section, but what they did have seemed pretty nice. The place was clean and decently organized, and employees seemed to be bringing out more and more by the minute during our visit. It was pretty busy when we went but the store was clean and there were enough cashiers at the registers to keep the lines from backing up into the store. This Goodwill is slightly smaller though, so if you're looking for something super specific you may not find it here. If you're into thrifting, I think this location would be a great stop if you're in the area. We each found some stuff we're absolutely ecstatic with, so maybe you will too! read more

First time ever to a BIN style Goodwill. Pay by pound for most items. 1.96$ per lb. 25 cents per book. We were unaware that gloves were needed but if you forget they are only $1.99 to buy. Honestly- it's a great thing that they are required! Touching all those items in the bins are pretty dirty! They refill the bins once they start to get low. You really need to go through them to find some good stuff but you will definitely find something! We spent about $28 and found some great items including a brand new MY FIRST SEWING MACHINE- still in the box and zip tied in. Perfect for my grand daughter! No clothing at this location except scarves and hats, plus shoes. Everything from games, decorations, bags galore, etc Recommend you try it atleast once if you're into thrifting!! read more

I am thankful for this Goodwill (#1), especially since I'm here almost every week to every other week just donating stuff. I'm clearly extremely generous (#2) and am frankly surprised to be the first person to review this location considering how popular it is day in and out. When it comes to the drop off donation, the receiving station is out front and near the corner. While most other Goodwill locations will usually have a drive-up window or dedicated covered area for donations, this one is as straightforward as they come. Pull up and someone will come out to help unload and collect your things. Donation wise, nothing I've brought in has ever been an issue. I've donated everything from books to clothes to furniture with ease. They will take most anything as long as it's in relatively good condition. They'll usually provide a blank slip for description / tax purposes, which I also appreciate. The store itself feels like a large thrift store with items that change daily. I've seen some kookie things in here and I've seen some real gems. For the bargain shopper, this location has a lot to offer and you'll never know what you'll find. I have been coming here for years but more recently since I am nearby. Almost weekly now I go here. Not anymore, yesterday a woman who clearly had some issues, approached me 4 times to start arguments over nothing at all. It's all on camera. She was just obviously not mentally stable and looking for something to do. She went to the manager trying to do damage control, and without even seeing the recordings, the manager Rene completely dismissed me, when I tried to explain that i was minding my own business. the woman started explaining how she "was in the military fir 5 years", which i totally stand by our troops, but this had nothing to do with her actions this day. just by saying that, she garnered the support of Rene, who began dismissing me furthermore. it was this unhinged woman and the manager against me at this point. i finally decided enough abuse was enough and still checked out and purchased my items. unless they get a manager trained in people skills, and one that doesnt immediately defer to an unstable person without making objective decisions, i am now fearful of returning to this store. which is very sad, because its on my way home and i like to stop in to unwind after a long day. after this fiasco, i will not be returning. After checking out, i asked for a different manager, a very sweet blond woman, and she walked me to my car because i didnt feel safe. There should be security because you never know who is going to goodwill with not so good intentions, and some managers like Rene lack the skillset and compassion to handle the situation like this one where the aggressor is not stable. read more

I've been here a couple of times and I usually find at least one thing I like to purchase. There are plenty of places to park and they have quite a bit of designer clothing brands (Jones New York, gap, Ralph Lauren etc). In addition, I recommend checking their home decor and books section as well. The store is a good size and I believe they do a good job of having a variety for a lot of people. There are 5 dressing rooms, so depending on the time you might have to wait to try on clothes. However the wait shouldn't be more than 10 minutes. read more

I've been facility lead at an out of state goodwill and another thrift store for the past 12 years. I've only been in one Goodwill Store in San Antonio, TX - the one on SW Military. I couldn't believe the crap they are putting on the sales floor. Most of the clothes I looked at had very noticeable stains, tears or rips. I my opinion the entire staff should be terminated. Thrift stores provide a needed function. Often thrift stores are the only way one can afford clothing or furniture. That doesn't mean that customers should be shown an utter lack of respect regarding the quality of merchandise. Again, this store is a disgrace. read more

I just moved here from Seattle and so far I am extremely disappointed with Texas thrift stores. There are plenty of Goodwills around but none of them separate jeans or t shirts by size or gender apparently, which makes them a huge pain to look through. Rarely do I find anything good enough to buy, but this particular location was clean and well organized compared to most others around. They also seemed to stock less garbage and broken furniture than other stores. I saw a Pentax 35mm SLR here a couple weeks ago for $29, which was a good price. This store is right next to Krispy Kreme so you can run over and grab a doughnut. I'll be coming back for sure, still hoping to find something cool. read more

Pretty fabulous! We came in to load up on 'pretend play' items for our almost 2 year old. We were thinking - wallets, bags, purses, baskets, hats, scarves, anything! We did good! For $14, and that includes a Goodwill donation, we purchased plenty of items for her to enjoy. While there, I noted some awesome denim and amazing jackets in the 'Julia's Attic' area which is associated with the local Junior League. We did not have a chance, but there is a suit I might go back for...it was marked at $25 and it retails for nearly $225. It was impecable AND my size. This is a great place if you have the time to look for deals, if you have a young child to entertain or even a space to decorate. You can come, find nothing and leave or you can come, find everything you were never looking for. Either way, it is worth a visit. read more

I don't go to Goodwill often, but I do go every so often to see if I can find any steals. The store is always well stocked and the employees are friendly. There's a computer store in the Goodwill which holds used computer parts which is nice if you just need a keyboard, you can't argue with $2.99! The bathrooms are clean, which is nice and there's a huge selection of furniture, household items, clothes, etc. Employees are usually really nice as well, any time I ever drop anything off to donate, the people helping are soooo nice! read more

Typical goodwill has lots of different items. You have to dig. It's alway unorganized but that could be the customers moving stuff around. But it is a thrift shop so they usually tend to be the same all around. Always fun to look through everything for something cool. read more

This Goodwill is right next to a bowling place and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. It's big, has a ton of stuff, it's great for UTSAer's to go shopping, and gets a lot of donations from college students when they leave. Why 3 stars? I don't understand why a rusty old and no brand bike is $40 and why a tank top shirt is $5.99. For something that was given to Goodwill, that's pricey! So I have been to a lot of Goodwills and this one is particularly expensive. But love that they have restrooms and they you may be able to find good deals. I do like that they have a lot of books here too. they are not expensive. read more

This is the most over priced goodwill in San Antonio when it comes to clothing. If a shirt is in decent condition, they will automatically put it in the Julia's section and jack the price up to $12.99. Even lower end brand names are $12.99. Not only do they jack up the price but they use permanent marker on the clothing tags. This mark does not come off. So not only do they jack up the price of the shirt, they take away from the actual value of the shirt by marking it. Makes no sense to me. They will eve mark up counterfeit items when they know it is counterfeit. I once brought up a shirt to their attention that was indeed fake. They thanked me for letting them know. Out of curiosity I went back the next day and it was put back on the same section I found it in. Whoever bought that fake Tommy Bahama shirt got duped by this Goodwill. I personally love thrift stores because you can find some cool vintage stuff. I go to this Goodwill usually on a weekly basis to drop off stuff I no longer want, whether it's clothes, furniture, electronics, etc. Once I've dropped my stuff in the blue bin, I usually go inside to see the new auction items, furniture and miscellaneous goods. The place is very organized, the employees are friendly, the prices are appropriate, and I usually end up taking home a treasure or two on a monthly basis. read more

Long sleeves, short sleeves, jeans, sweaters (a cashmere one for about $6), and sweatshirts in my husband's size, my daughter's and mine. It was well organized in S, M, L, etc. and the fitting rooms were kept cleaner than most department stores I go to. read more

Worst trade school ever! Pharmacy textbooks were from 2008! Teacher read directly from the book and would avoid any explanations and all questions! Certification pass rates certainly do not parallel those of other pharmacy tech trade school! I can't see how anyone could pass the certification with outdated materials! Teacher made us sign off on inaccurate class ending times! If I could give this school a lower grade than a one, I surely would. Don't throw away your money, invest in an accredited school! Very outdated curriculum and poor teaching methods. The Pharmacy Tech class is using two outdated editions of the standard pharmacy textbooks. The class is set up as strict teacher read to students only format! I am sure the school's pass rate for both the Board of Pharmacy and the Certification Examination are below those of competitors since their curriculum has not been updated to keep up with modern pharmacy drugs, constantly changing pharmacy laws, and state of the art modern practice. The school will not make efforts to accommodate students with disabilities. Instructor leaves often before the end of the school day and asks students to sign logs that do not agree with their actual time out. Administration is also unwilling to cooperate with special needs students and make accommodations. ABSOLUTELY NO TAPE RECORDERS ALLOWED IN CLASSROOM! My strong advice would be to enroll in the Junior College course and receive college credit instead of wasting your money on this substandard Pharmacy Tech program! read more
