Great book selection. Every book is a buck. If you're a reader and busted, stop by. Lots of mid-upper range name brand shoes all of which were in really good shape, most appeared new/unworn. The shoe section is well-organized and spacious. It is expensive, for Goodwill. But, there are a lot of really nice items in great condition for nowhere near what they cost at The Loft or Nieman Marcus for example. Interesting 'art' inventory and frame selection. The things that caught my eye were $30-$35. This is Westport. Connecticut. There is very little/nothing retro, funky or off-beat here. This inventory was originally purchased by wealthy, Westport WASPs [no disrespect] who then dropped these unused, high end items off at the donation center. Personally, I'm glad they did. read more

This place is a goldmine. The prices can be high, but the merchandise is supreme. I almost never leave without buying. Like any thrift, you must examine carefully anything you are considering, but there are many deals. Recently picked up artwork retailing for over $1,000 for $45. The store is kept in great shape and "pickers" come in daily for goods they can resell at a profit. The staff is friendly and hard working and I have never had an issue with anyone. This is not necessarily the store you want if all you need are basic items at a dirt cheap price, although they may be found. Oh how I miss my Westport GW! I've moved out of state. Over the years this place was the source of many wonderful finds. Not only have I decorated my home with brand new- labels still on - fashions or in great condition designer custom pillow covers, lamps, Crate & Barrel porcelain storage jars for my coffee beans, mirrors, original art etc. from this store, but my kids each got rust free bikes, Brooks Brothers blazers and pants, and I filled my closets with Brooks Brothers wool blazers, LBD shift ($300 current in store at the time) and JCrew items like "Jackie" cardigans in cashmere and merino or cute madras skirts. Lots of Ann Taylor and Talbots plus some boutique and designer brands were always on hand. The narrow aisles are a bit tough to negotiate but worth the intake of breath to squeeze by. But the SHOES were/are the best of all. I was the recipient of someone's shoe-closet cleaning over a period of 6 years. I cannot afford Stuart Weitzman or DJPliner at retail, but I can here. I still get compliments on those classic shoes and boots. Even the regular High Street stores like Gap and Banana are represented here in like new condition at very reasonable prices. read more

I see a lot of reviews complaining about prices at this Goodwill, although I agree with many of the reviewers, as a person who frequents most Goodwills from here to Manhattan, the prices here are on par with most other locations. We just have to face it, thrift and second hand stores are back in fashion (I think that's a great thing) and prices have risen. That said, this is one of the better Goodwills I have been in. They present their shoes in cubbies, the only GW i have ever seen this done. It makes for a neater store and more pleasant shopping experience. And there's a perk that is part of most Goodwills that actually makes a world of difference here. The staff has no idea what luxury is and that can benefit any consumer in the know. While they have Lauren Ralph Lauren in their premiere (more expensive) cases, they had Tod's and Akris out on the floor priced normally with everything else. Sure GW has become more expensive but with a little digging here, you can actually walk away with a treasure. Happy hunting. read more

I am a huge fan of the Easter Seals Goodwill stores that are in the New Haven County area. Since I moved to Fairfield, this Goodwill is closer to me so I figured I would start going here. I will say that I have found a couple good deals over the course of the 5-10 times I have been there in the past couple months. My biggest gripe about this store is that it's way overpriced for a Goodwill. They tag Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, J.Crew pre-owned clothing usually at $14.99. While some people may consider that to be a great bargain, it's really not. As a frequent thrift shopper, I usually don't pay over $2.50 for those name brands. I've purchased tons of Eileen Fisher, DVF, Banana Republic, Stuart Weitzman Heels, etc for $2.00 and under. I'm not trying to brag, I'm just trying to point out that if you don't mind traveling a bit farther to areas north of Westport you will find MUCH greater deals. Sometimes I find a good bargain or two but not nearly as much as I find in other stores. I do have to point out that they do a very nice job of displaying items (shoes & clothing) and it is appealing to the eye. I'll stop in once in awhile because I love a challenge but it's far from my favorite thrift store. read more

This store is a disgrace to the goodwill industry. Their prices are SO high. An old knee length maroon faded velvet 90s style skirt was marked at 14.99. You might as well shop at Marshall's. I heard so many people exclaim how shocked they were. Do yourself a favor and head to the next nearest goodwill. read more

Love coming to this goodwill store! It's a fairly new building, so it feels a lot cleaner than other goodwill's. The selection is great. I've managed to score some awesome finds here. Great selection of designer jeans. Come on a weeknight after work and you won't have to wait in line for a fitting room or bump into people while browsing the racks! The staff are always so friendly as well. read more
