Goodwin & Sons is a gem near Lake Gregory. The inside and outside are both beautiful, and the classic soda fountain area with ice cream in the middle makes it a stand-out star. Every time we go this way, we have to stop at Goodwin's. The market portion itself has a great selection, and the chance to get an old fashioned root beer float before or after walking the trail around the lake is such a win. Today I went to get a juice at 5:50pm, but she said she already cleaned the juicer. Ok?? It says the coffee and juice bar is open till 7. That fits I guess. Every time I buy chicken here, I get chicken juice all over my hands because they're terrible at wrapping it in their little styrofoam trays with saran wrap. They're always leaky. And the produce is often subpar compared to other stores. Wilted or spotted from age. But alas, they're the closest store, so I keep ending up there. Do I recommend? Absolutely not! First, I'll say I have loved this store since the first time I ever walked in, some time over a decade ago. Everything is wonderful! From the bakery, sushi guy, dry aged steaks and the awesome butchers, sweet shop, coffee bar, and the list goes on. Today was really the first time I've ever asked for help. I purchased a loaf of Miner's Sourdough Bread on Wednesday and it is the best bread I've ever eaten in my life. So, today I asked Ashley (I hope that's right ) if there was a way I could get two loaves before I leave on Monday. She said she'd be back, and sure enough she emerged with two frozen loaves. What a wonderful reimagined market after the snowpocalypse (although I miss the fishes but will settle for the Long Beach aquarium alternative The dessert bar looked as irresistible as always but the tepid coffee had the bitterness of an uncleaned craft sitting stagnant. This along with the equally tepid crepe that didn't have a tan spot on it let alone delicious crispy edges was starting to suggest a trend The barista was eager to toss and make a fresh cup after voicing they didn't warm up the first one enough‍, yikes. While visiting Crestline, and Lake Gregory, we had to stop in Goodwin's. Goodwin & Sons Market is a great place to shop! The grocery store is huge. The have all the groceries your heart could desire, and then some! They have freshly made ice cream and soda. A whole area in the store dedicated to that! How cool. Goodwins has frozen and fresh food items. The deli and bakery both looked very fresh. I could have easily found something for lunch or dinner here. We planned to eat elsewhere though, we were on the hunt for snacks lol I found some pumpkin shaped chocolates. So cute! It was hard for me not to buy more here lol This is the spot for groceries if you are in Crestline. Service was good. Friendly and fast. Pricing seems to be very fair for the mountain. read more

Goodwin & Sons is one of my must stops when in Crestline. It is an upscale supermarket. The inside is spacious and very clean. There is a deck overlooking the lake where you can enjoy your morning coffee or your lunch/ dinner. In addition to the grocery stables, you can also find good quality food. From deli sandwiches to Acai bowl, speciality chocolate to baked goods, they have such a great selection. My favorite sandwich is the gobbler. A local introduced me to it, and now it becomes my must have when I visit Crestline. The gobbler is very fresh and yummy. I don't even like cranberry sauce, but the the gobbler has turned me to it. We used to live in Crestline, and after their remodel following the heavy snow a few years back, the place is absolutely beautiful. The store has an incredible variety of food, and while "mountain prices" are naturally a bit higher than down the hill, they're still pretty competitive. What really makes this place stand out is all the extra touches, you'll find a sweets area with fountain sodas, ice creams, and even a chocolatier, which makes it feel more like a specialty market than a typical grocery store. Their deli makes amazing sandwiches, and the bakery is impressive too. I especially appreciate the sugar-free and gluten-free options that actually taste great! There's also a cozy seating area where you can enjoy your meal, and now they even have a pizza section where you can order fresh pizza. The store is festive and welcoming, the Christmas decorations add a cheerful vibe, and the customer service really stood out. Someone noticed we were looking for the restroom and came over right away to help. That kind of attentiveness goes a long way. 10/10 best grocery store I've been to in my life. So scenic, cozy, homey, lovely, and clean! 1) you need to try their specialty sandwiches. I thought it sounded crazy but then i actually ate it and it changed my life 2) cookies. So warm so fresh so gooey but crispy on the outside i love it 3) they have a little upper deck with seating inside and outside for you to enjoy their yummy food with a fantastic view 4) they even have a soda/ dessert bar. This is such a nice grocery store. Lots of parking and even someone bbqing outside in the parking lot. Very clean and new inside. Tons of variety and even made to order hot food and desserts. I love this place as a local to make a quick grocery stop in town. It is very clean and well-stocked. The cashiers are always friendly. I love the selection offered. The workers at the hot food section is a completely different story. I was not sure how to place an order and the woman working at the counter looked up at me several times without saying anything to me. I found out how to place an order from another customer. I placed an order at the deli. 2 customers came after me, both of which were greeted by first name. Mine was made first; yet was the last to be rung up. It took over 20 minutes to get a deli sandwich when no one was in line ahead of me. My husband has had a similar experience at this deli. Goodwin & Sons market is across from Lake Gregory. The market is very cute and includes home decor, a florist, bakery with fudge, a juice and coffee bar and ice cream. We came in after an enjoying the lake for a treat. We enjoyed ice cream sundaes, milkshakes and coffee. The staff was friendly and helpful. We heard that Goodwin market has top quality meat that in the past years drove 1 1/2 hours to get it in another town. We live in Redlands and Goodwin was closer so we went there yesterday. I was shocked that this big beautiful market was in Crestline. since it's a small mountain town. We were impressed as soon as we walked in. We went directly to the meat department. We found the Tri-Tip we were looking for. The meat is aged for months and it has this great marinade on it. The butcher was great and will work with us when we buy a large amount of meat for 50 people. This store has everything, but what impressed me the most was how clean and perfect all the food items were perfectly placed on the shelves. They have a deli which makes sandwich's, we had an Italian sandwich was was very good. My sister had their brisket, she said it was very moist and very goody. There is an outside and inside patio to eat your lunch. They also have a good sized counter where they make candy, fudge, coffee, ice cream açaí bowls etc. Goodwin was totally destroyed from heavy snow two years ago which collapsed the whole roof, everything was destroyed. Goodwin's has been a Crestline institution since long before I moved here. As a matter of fact, when I first started looking to relocate to the mountain they were still rebuilding after the Snowmaggedon roof collapse. One afternoon, after a morning of house hunting, I stumbled in on their soft re-opening and was blown away. It was (and is) probably the most beautiful grocery store I have ever been in. With a selection of foods I never would have expected in a smallish mountain town. A full service deli. A coffee bar. An ice cream bar. A freakin chocolatier, for crying out loud! And a beautiful community lounge and deck upstairs to enjoy some coffee looking out over the lake. I am dinging them one star because all this beauty and selection does not come cheap. They do take advantage of their position as the best grocery store in what is a bit of a resort town. Prices, especially on luxury or impulse-buy items are higher than down-mountain stores. That said, if you shop carefully you can fill your cart for a reasonable cost. And their loyalty program is pretty good at providing cash discounts based on points. Oh, and the house hunting? I LOVE this market! It is conveniently located across from Lake Gregory. They have a coffee shop, ice cream and shop in the middle of the store. I thought that was a pretty cool concept. It reminds me of wholefoods but different. They have a huge selection of craft beer and wine... Oooh and they even have a dry aged and meat department. The bathroom was one of the nicest grocery store/market bathrooms I've ever been too and it was CLEAN. I had a really disappointing experience at Goodwins Deli. The employees made me feel like I was inconveniencing them just by being there. When I went to order a sandwich, I politely asked the man at the counter if they were still open because I didn't want to place an order if they were closing soon. Instead of a simple response, he sighed and said yes in a very rude tone. Customer service like that is unacceptable. A little kindness and professionalism go a long way, especially in a customer-facing role. If I were management, I would seriously consider retraining the staff to improve their attitude and how they treat customers. And to add this is not the first time I've had this happen. read more

Goodwins has been around forever! Always had solid produce and meat. Very nice deli and wine selection as well. The roof collapsed during snowmeggedon in 2023 and the Goodwin's decided to rebuild and they're back better than ever. Great upstairs views from the coffee bar. There is also a little Christmas store inside with some great gifts. It's an upscale market which is reflected in some of their prices. Anyway, go look around and have a cup of coffee! read more

Store was remodeled after snowmegedan took down the roof a few years back. Layout is very nice with a wide variety of specialty shops inside. Typical groceries are a little higher price but the ambiance, staffing and all the specialties shops take it to the next level. Candy, coffee, deli and novelties takes you back in time to the drugstore soda shop era. The staff are pleasant and knowledgeable. A huge variety of sodas as well as beers and alcohol. Perfect if you're staying the night in Crestline any time of year. read more

This is the best grocery store I have ever been to in my life. I used to shop here before snowmagedon tore this place apart and unfortunately to some extent I'm grateful it happened because goodwins came back with a BANG. I cannot put into words how beautiful this store is. In addition to the beauty they have a full service coffee bar, juice bar, ice cream parlor, crepe station and chocolatier area in the middle of the store. My mom is ADDICTED to their sugar free chocolate marshmallows as a diabetic looking for a small sweet treat. High recommend! read more

I live in Crestline, but I don't shop at Goodwins as often anymore. I choose to buy the majority of household items from Stater Bros, Walmart delivery, or Jensons mainly because the basic grocery items at Goodwins are usually overpriced. Also, we have never had the best of luck buying fresh chicken or deli meat that tasted good. The only items I will buy from Goodwins, nowadays, are their specialty holiday items since their decoration section is usually pretty unique and beautifully organized along with the water, eggs, and wines/alcohol. The staff has been friendly most of the time I have been there. When I was temporarily disabled two years ago, I couldn't walk very far, but needed to do some grocery shopping. I called Goodwins and asked their manager to request the store owners to consider purchasing/leasing an electric shopper cart for elderly or disabled shoppers. She said she'd keep into consideration and mention it at the next meeting. It was never purchased, but it's still something that small town stores like this should offer for community members. read more

We were vacationing in Lake Arrowhead for a few days and needed some food and supplies. Yelp suggested this grocery store so we went there to bran a few things. This is no normal grocery store. The maple fudge was incredible as were the baked goods. The meat selection rivals any store I've ever shopped at and the prepared foods were amazing.
