She has a map on her wall that visitors can pin where they're from, so we put our pins up. Restrooms are for customers only. She told us about a Chinese tour group that was in there a week or so ago. They took a good 15 minutes to figure out how to tell her they needed to use the restroom, and once they figured out everything they decided she needed a sign, so they wrote a restroom sign in Chinese and it's now taped to the restroom door! There was a tray of "homemade" cookies for sale and my fiancé and I bought 3 for $1. She also gave us directions to Route 66. This is probably going to be one of our regular stops now.

As a suggestion, I think if you asked the wonderful employees to toast your sandwiches it would be a lot better. Speaking of those kind and welcoming employees, their service really made this experience for me. The sweet woman behind the deli counter seemed incredibly locked in‍ and got our sandwichs out in record time. This quality service continued to the check out counter, where I met my charmingly awkward cashier. Overall, I will say that the cedar glen fine foods market is not bad especially for those looking for a cheap affordable sandwich, it just needs some aesthetic elbow grease (of course referring to the interior). Directly up the street from our Airbnb was the Community Market that was the most quaint and…read moreperfect little neighborhood spot that had seemingly everything you needed...no need to venture into town. The shop is small and packed with anything and everything; fresh fruits, veggies, meats, eggs, cheeses, drinks, laundry and cleaning supplies, liquor, snacks, and fun little treats scattered throughout. The staff are friendly neighborhood folk who know lots of their clientele and just what they want. Prices are high but this is for convenience not the deal. During our stay in Big Bear we got many of our groceries and some sweet treats from the Community Market, and I'm sure we will be back when we return again someday.
