I hadn't stopped by this little market since the last time it was a Jensen's a couple of years ago, so let me start with the observation that it's about the same at face value. This is a great pop-in spot - especially for adult beverages! The wine and beer selection is quite extensive; in fact, we even found some André Cold Duck (not a high-end selection, but I know this is even hard to locate in the lowlands). There's also a wonderful breakfast/deli/sandwich shop in the back of the store. It's a great place to pick up an inexpensive breakfast burrito or sandwich if passing by. There's also a self-serve beverage area within the store, as well. If you're near Lake Arrowhead and NOT looking forward to the crowds at Stater Brothers above the village proper, consider detouring around the side of the lake to Cedar Glen and stopping here it take care of some quick shopping. The employees, both at the service counter and checkout were pleasant, and the store is clean and in good order.

Lake Arrowhead is our second home for many years now and we've stopped here on occasion for some essentials. In the past tended to avoid it as it seemed on the dirty side and there were seedy individuals hanging around outside. We've been gone for the winter in favor of sunnier weather, and returned this weekend to start up our weekly visits again and stopped in to grab some bananas as we were close by on errands. My husband and I were taken aback when we walked in as the store has had a complete makeover! New light gray wood-like flooring, cleaner and upgraded aisles, and it seems the cash register areas looked nicer, too. Honestly, a major upgrade! We found our bananas (not organic, but we know this is not a full grocery store) and perused the aisles and though the pickings were not robust, they were certainly helpful when you need to dash in for staples. We will now not hesitate to go back. Well done, Cedar Glen Fine Foods!

Fantastic service, great variety of top shelf food & drink and artisanal stuff you wouldn't expect on the mountain except at Jensen's.

I decided to buy a bag of chips. Then I saw beautifully packaged baklava at the cash register counter. I bought the big gold box full of baklava. Oh wow...just like another reviewer said, these are the BEST baklava I've ever had! These are packaged so nicely, they would make a nice gift too. (Note: The attached picture doesn't include all the baklava that was in the box, because I had already eaten two before I took this picture.)

The closest grocery store was mountain high market and though I was grateful not to have to drive to Lake Arrowhead and back I was disappointed in the high prices and mostly canned and frozen food. Despite the lack of choices, the service here was AMAZING which I have never seen at a grocery store. The couple who ran it offered homemade baklava (which was literally the best I've ever had) and even helped me take my bags to my car IN THE RAIN! Talk about going above and beyond! Also even though the prices were high and the food selection was small it was the best option in the area and the $180 spent on groceries paid for 4 meals plus snacks for 5 people which was a much better alternative than going out for every meal.

Here's what happened: My girlfriend was filling a prescription for a controlled sleep med. She went at noon and was told come back after 3pm. We called at 3pm and were told to come back at 4:45 (They close the Pharmacy at 5pm on Sunday). When we arrived they told us the system was down and they were not able to give us the prescription....which my girlfriend NEEDS to sleep. It was at this point I realized the system was down all day, and instead of informing us so we could transfer the prescription they covered the issue up. Had they divulged the real situation we could have transferred the prescription. The pharmacy tech told us the best she could do was tomorrow morning...for a sleep med. There was exactly ZERO concern, empathy, or effort to solve this problem on her part. When I called the next morning we were told try to again in the afternoon (system obviously still down). PS: The only reason this review is 2 stars and not 1, is I don't take 1 star reviews seriously. I can see why Rite-Aid Corporation had to file bankruptcy.

Yesterday, Upon entering i noticed how super clean this store was, highly organized with attention to details. This ice cream store doesn't have tons so flavors but you can still mix and match, have sundaes, shakes & malts, floats, push pops, paletas, affogatos, hot chocolate, whipped iced coffee too! You can either have cones, waffles cones, cake cones dripped waffles cones, bowls or cups. On top off all of that you can also treat yourself to toppings such as: chocolate chip cookies, gummies, nuts, sprinkle, Oreos, marshmallows, pebble cereal, bits of snickers. They also have chocolate chip cookie, pie, churros, Caramel apples, Bavarian glazed nuts, chips, themed drinking cups, drinks, pins, chargers, rock crystal candies, toy machines. Alex R was working that day, she asked us if we had and question, we did, she answered them beautifully! 2 scoops of chocolate & vanilla, 2 scoop cotton candy, 2 scoops of strawberry cheesecake, 2 scoops mint in chip all in a large cup to go! Their price points are spot on! All were delicious! I would love to Thank Alex R for a fantastic & memorable visit. I would like to thank Village Ice Cream & Sweet Shoppe for wonderful visit! With some outside tables offering scenic views of the lake, this is a great spot to take a rest from browsing and grab an ice cream cone, cold drink, specialty coffee, or sugary treat. The shop offers Thrifty Ice cream in assorted flavors, cone choices ranging from simple sugar to freshly-made, warm waffle cones for cradling your scoops, and a variety of additional crowd pleasing snacks such as churros, baked goods, specialty lattes, Dole Whip, soft serve, and other edible treasues too numerous to mention. Price wise, their offerings are a bit on the higher side - I paid around $10 for a large chocolate malt (shakes are cheaper) - but you will probably encounter a small, quickly-moving line upon entry. And though ice cream can be found at other village businesses, indeed, there are some confections that are unique to this site. Our server (apparently only one on a weekday afternoon) was pleasant and efficient, rapidly filling orders and fielding any questions as she moved to and fro translating the pictured menu offerings into the equally-tempting tangible goodies that excited patrons scurry away holding. It's hard to resist this little spot as you peruse the shops along the esplanade - and what's better than strolling around that walkway bend to the lakefront businesses with a refreshing treat in hand? I'm sure you'll find something that catches your eye and, subsequently, dazzles your tastebuds.
