This store has very helpful staff. They had everything we needed from wines and bourbon, to eggs, cheese, horseradish, spicy avocado salsa, etc. What most impressed us was the friendliness of a Ms Harley, who was our check out gal. There was a bit of a line, but she made every customer who went through her line feel seen. She actively engaged in conversation and gave suggestions for how customers could save some $$$. I know we all appreciate those types of hints. When it was our turn, she personalized her conversation so organically. The store also had reasonable prices and a good selection of different types of food. Recommend for vacationers who prefer to cook vs go out to eat for every meal. read more

I went early to avoid the crowd (9/13 at 7:25), checking out I had the most unprofessional and rude interactions. Valerie and the bag girl thought I was ok to not greet customers, talk about some guy who works there. Valerie didn't say a word as she handed me my money. These ladies need talked too. It's weird to post about Stater Brothers, but before we moved to the mountain, we have never gotten there. We'd always live near Ralph's or Vons or close to Costco but up here we have local grocery stores that we love. We also have Stater Brothers that has some of the other things that we would normally get The services the roses great as always it's right by the lake in Lake arrowhead great views from the parking lot, their bakery is great. We always get pastries when we go and stop by so to say that this is a great state of Brothers compared to all the other grocery stores I've been to. I love this one. read more

I am a full-time resident in Lake Arrowhead. I usually try to avoid this particular Stater Bros. I only go when I have to. Today I had to. The manager at this store...at least the one I had to deal with today (this morning) was extremely rude!!! And this is an understatment! And the checker was rude as well. It was such an awful experience!!!! But... I have been spoiled. I am a Trader Joes's fan!!! We love Stater Bros. At least once every two weeks, my boyfriend and I shop at Stater Bros. for basic needs at reasonable prices and for other items that may not be regularly available at Goodwins in Crestline like sushi, seafood (crab legs), fresh baked bread, etc. The staff is often friendly and courteous. The store itself is usually clean and organized. However, I do wish they offered more almond milk or oat milk yogurt options other than the Silk brand. But, I like that they have many beautiful flower arrangements and potted plants to choose from. read more

It was a wonderful experience shopping here! From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and not only that but staff is super helpful. As I was trying to find something, one of staff asked what I might be looking for and guided me to the correct aisle. Cashier was super nice, attentive and we definitely had a great conversation as she was ringing me up. Loved she was in a jolly spirit, which makes everyone's shopping waaaay better and it doesn't feel stressful. Thank you again for making our day so much better. I went in to grab 2 items and spent nearly an hour waiting to check out. There are 9 checkout lines but only 1 was open, and eventually they added a second one. With 50-70 people in line you would think they would have more cashiers. I asked the courtesy clerk if this was normal and he said yes. He suggested coming in weeknights around 10pm to shop - not because they have more cashiers but there are fewer customers. Idk maybe they pay cashiers $1000 per hour and can only afford 1 or 2..... Whoever manages this store should be fired - it's run horrible when they only staff 1 or 2 cashiers. I don't buy anything frozen here any longer because it melts in the checkout lines - 3 times for ice cream and I learned. If you need to shop go to Jensens or Goodwin's - less selection and higher prices but at least you can actually buy things! Stator brothers should be ashamed and either hire at least a semi competent manager or just close this location due to ineptitude. read more

AWESOME Customer Service in the Bakery!!! The head baker (sorry I forgot her name ‍) was extremely helpful and accommodating. She told me they require 24 hr notice for an order of cupcakes if you need a special order (1/2 white & 1/2 chocolate) and I could pick them up the next afternoon. I unfortunately need them that day. She said she would help me out this time but to be sure I order in advance in the future. Twenty minutes later, I was walking out the door with EXACTLY what I wanted. Everyone loved the cupcakes. Moist cake and the whipped cream was a perfect combo. I had another birthday party the next weekend, but instead of only needing 1 dozen, I ordered 4 dozen cupcakes to make sure everyone got one and not just the kids. read more

I've shopped at Stater Brothers in Lake Arrowhead for the last 2 years. Today I used the free service, at least for now. They, Stater Brothers, shop and bag your groceries for you and you pick up your groceries during a set 1 hour window, that same day. Groceries are brought and put in your car! Amazing service and fantastic consideration of substitution options by text. My personal shopper was excellent as was Kayden who brought and kindly put everything in my trunk. Honestly, it's a Stater Brothers, truly a sight for sore eyes when staying at a vacation rental or any lodging, how expensive it can be to be eating out all the time or shopping at the other market which although good quality items still too expensive to be buying groceries for a few days stay. They are very busy store which means the strain on the employees trying to get people in and out. Parking lot is worse because it's in a huge shopping center that caters to all the out of towners and locals. But it's the only real market (and decent size store) up there next to Big Bear which has at least two big chain stores & one being another Staters. read more

I was visiting in the area and needed to stop by this store for a few things. The staff was so nice and helpful. The two employees that helped me at the meat counter were great and very patient when I was making a decision about what to get and how much. Checking out was an even better experience! I went to look for their Hatch Chili Cheese bread in the bakery but I couldn't find it. When I mentioned this to the cashier and bagger, he went to go find it for me! Since there was no one behind me in line at the time, the cashier went to go help look for it too. When they came back, they had a loaf of the bread for me! It's OK when you don't want to drive down the mountain the store is clean the Employees are nice and polite,but lately the Rotisserie chicken has been dry the last 3 times I've purchased it and the another thing is you have to check code dates I've found that a lot of the refrigerated lunch meats etc. are short coded and the Potato chips from Frito/Lay are always smashed or broken into tiny pieces and are very Expensive they always have deals were you buy 3 bags of chips and get a 4th free different combinations of this deal I only buy when I'm desperate.. Some items like Red Bull and Arnold Palmer's half/half are always in stock are comparably priced to Walmart one of the reasons I shop there. read more

Wow...my entire review was gone when I returned back to Yelp. I will give this another try. Kathryn greeted us at the front & welcomed us to the store. She was professional, attentive, smart and loves her career with Stater Bros. We also met Carter on Isle #10 preparing a cart of groceries to be delivered to customers. She greeted us with a warm smile, hello, we shook hands. What a great employee! We love the Food/Produce choices, Service, Cleanliness, and Ambiance of this store. Nice, clean store that is well-stacked with a variety of products. The produce depart look well-tended. The meat depart always looks gorgeous. All of my interactions with the employees have been pleasant. Either they are lucky and have only nice folks working there, or they have a very good training system in place. Or, maybe both? It can't be easy working in a resort town that gets bombarded with visitors and still remain cheerful and helpful, but the Stater Bros staff seems to manage it well. Well done. read more

The market is fine but their Deli is horrible! I been to lots of Stater Brothers and this has to be the worsts. The line was extensive with two people operating at two speeds! Slow and stop Someone needs to train these people to be efficient and use better hygiene safety measures. I waited a long time to order sandwiches and the guy making the sandwich didn't know what he was doing. He had dirty latex gloves doing other things then started making my sandwiches without changing or washing his hands. It was unhealthy and unsanitary. The sandwiches were poorly made with the dressing in the center unspreaded with hardly any meats. This process took over 30 minutes and I walked away from taking them! read more

This Stater Bros is an okay location, unfortunately for mountain residents it's one of only two grocery stores for the entire mountain (excluding big bear) The stock here is a huge hit or miss, though I will say some of that is out of their control being that they are in a tourist area and you never really know how busy any given week will be. However, when I used to live up here I was almost guaranteed that I would not find at least one thing on my grocery list when i did my shopping. Most of the employees here are friendly and ready to help, my biggest complaint is about Donnell. Man he is insufferable. Every single time I end up in his line he makes things more complicated or is just flat out rude. I stopped by to get a refund on an Instacart order I was doing recently on a busy day; waited patiently in his line for about 15 minutes and when I got to him all he could say was i can't help you with that you have to go to a line with a manager.. okay then tell me who a manager is Donnell how am I supposed to know? Last time this happened the kind gentleman who was a checker quickly went and a grabbed a manager and the process was done in 2 minutes tops. I had to go stand in another line for an additional 20 minutes to do the return. I returned again today for personal shopping as I finished up I swiped my card and it declined, I saw him doing something on his end so I figured I swiped too early, nope before I could even think he literally grabs my card from my hand wipes it and slides it for me. Whole time he is telling the customer behind me to stop loading his car that way and do it his way because it's faster. He sticks my card back in my hand and I hear the customer behind me very upset tell him that he doesn't understand why he won't just let him unload his car the way he wants to because it would have already been done. Donnell has no people skills and is just very arrogant for no reason. I don't even live in this community anymore and the very few times I have to stop by when visiting family I somehow end up in his line because it's the shortest making every visit an aggravating experience. This Staters would be a solid location but with an employee like him sometimes I'd rather just wait until I'm off the mountain. read more

Parking can and will be hit and miss depending on the day, time, and events taking place. In a Sunday evening, 8pm we got front door parking inside was clean and shelves fully stocked. French Normandy exterior, set in a lush forest wonderland. I appreciate the small yet noticeable touches by staff. Salmon is "sushi" grade full of Omega 3. Staff Rowena, Francine, Tim knew my preferences for an customized shopping experience (consistently). Fruit/floral orchestrations are of a "étagère supérieure" quality. I don't like writing bad reviews but I want to be honest, I've bought carne asada 3x from here and each time it's awful tasting. There was a gamey after taste each time, which made the meat inedible, I had to feed the rest to our dog. I also ordered beef shank I believe it was called and it had that same awful gamey after taste. One time I purchased pre packaged chicken and it was slimy and again inedible. I purchased sushi once and it smelled like the fish was sitting out for days and stank of old fish. Lastly,The drinks that are supposed to be refrigerated aren't cold at all but more lukewarm, to specify, I'm talking about the fridge closest to the bakery. They need to make the fridge much colder for drinks as well as pre packaged meat. I no longer buy meat from here, it's a shame because it the closest store near my house. Everything else is fine. Horrible, horrible service. It started with the cake department. I had purchased a cake for a birthday party and the writing on it was so bad ! It was so bad, that it was hilarious at the same time?
