First off they changed their hours from a 2am opening to a 5am opening. This is something that should probably be updated on their socials and site. We showed up around 530 expecting they had been open for a bit and were ready for business. They weren't even close. On top of that the woman inside was clearly not happy to be there or to have disappointed potential customers. We left hungry and disappointed. If we hadn't promised everyone we are vacationing with donuts we would have just gone home and made breakfast. Instead my husband went back around 7 and they still weren't fully ready with all the flavors but he still ordered. The donuts saved this review because the product really was worth it! The lemon cream donuts are to die for and my husband loved the chocolate butternut. The harshest critic in our group is my 13 year old cousin and he loved his chocolate donut! Really wonderful donuts and place! I'm into getting local donuts when traveling and this was such a great experience. I ordered donuts ahead on yelp since the reviews said they sell out fast. I recommend ordering in advance! All the donuts were great, to my surprise they even had strawberries and cream. The two old men working there were super friendly and when I went to pick it up right at closing time they were still there, despite me getting stressed out about the place closing. Excellent donuts, we went here twice when we were staying a week in nearby Gilford. The glazed and the apple cider donuts were really tasty and my wife raved about the Boston Cream. You do need to get here early on the busy weekends and somewhat during the week too. As another reviewer complained, it would be nice if they identified the donuts so that you don't have to ask the staff what each kind is each time. I consider myself to be a donut connoisseur and enjoy donuts whenever I travel. Goody Good Donuts are just outstanding. Probably the best on the east coast and easily top the ones in LA. This is an old school place that has not changed since 1980s, and thank god for it! You can see and smell them frying donuts 10 feet away. This place smells of cigarettes and has a terrible donut selection. I have never had a worse donut. Every time I try to give them another chance or believe they are not as bad as I believe they disappoint me further. I think they should rename their business "Non Existent Donuts". I went by this place for the third time now, well within their posted business hours, and they had nothing to sell. I have now been by twice around 7am in the morning, and tonight at 1am and all three times they had nothing on their shelves. The last time I went by in the morning there was a man and a woman standing out front smoking who told me they were sold out before I even got out of my car. Sold out 4 hours before they close, I asked why they don't make more. I was told that that was to much trouble for them and if I wanted donuts I should have reserved them. Since when does one have to reserve donuts? I go by tonight at 12:15 and the place is dark and deserted. I went for a drive to pass a bit of time and came back by at 1am, place is all dark but I notice a single guy in the back of the shop, so I give them a call. He tells me they have nothing ready yet, but the door has been open since he got there at 10am, and that it is a three hour process to get everything ready. I guess a responsible business owner would make sure that someone was there at 9pm when their posted business hours are opening at 12am if it takes 3 hours to make all the products. If you are not going to have product ready outside of 3am and 6am, then post your hours as such. If not, get there early enough to have product ready when you are supposed to open at 12am and make enough to have to sell until 11am when you claim you close. I applaud you for doing better than the utter mediocrity that is Dunkin Donuts, but in the end if you don't actually have a product to sell when you claim you are open, I guess they win out. I guess in future I will just have to go to Tilton and frequent Brothers Donuts when I want something better from now on....at least there I know I am not completely wasting my time. We drove here yesterday specifically to try their donuts based on the yelp reviews. We got their around 8:30am. They only had 4 glazed donuts left and 6 chocolate glazed. We got a half dozen, which was $7.50! The donuts were, in a word, "average". They were what you'd expect from any typical donut shop. For the price, we would probably never return here. I'm loathe to leave this review as it seems like a small operation, but it's definitely not worth the trip and/or the cost. If there was a negative star rating I would give it that but this is as low as it gets. Ordered donuts for an event over a week in advance. When ordered they were nice and said how slow its been due to the virus. Explained they were for a baby shower and needed for today. They said no problem, to pickup before they close at 11am. Got there at 10am and they were closed. Messaged them and we're told "sorry we sold out, we can make you some tomorrow". We then explained they were for an event which was gone over at time of ordering over a week ago. Then received a response blaming lack of help due to the virus. Sorry but our order should have been filled before any walk-ins, and even if something catastrophic happened that it couldn't be filled we should have been called not left to show up to business that closed early and have to message to find out our order would not be filled. Or heres a crazy idea, stay open and make the order - lol. And honestly own it and say you messed up and don't blame other things instead of taking responsibility. We were left with 3 hours on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend to find a replacement dessert, smh. Luckily another local pastry shop in downtown Laconia (who I will not name because this is not to boost another business) was open and were able to save the day. Brides Beware! After going to the shop in October, I decided that I was going to have their donuts at my wedding in June. I received a quote over the phone and was told to call 2 weeks before the wedding to place my order. I have just called (3 weeks before the wedding) and they are claiming to have never quoted me. As a bride, you budget every penny so getting the new "contract" (which I was never informed about before), left me very surprised when the price had literally doubled.
