I've been in town working at Laconia Bike Week and Wayfarer Coffee Roasters has saved me and the girls on our team every day! With the order ahead option on Toast Tab, it's been so nice to have great quality lattes for our long days. I got the 24 oz New Hampshire maple syrup oat milk latte as well as the spring special with a latte with a nice hint of cardamom. We loved their scones, both blueberry and the girls loved their strawberry rhubarb, and today I ordered a waffle with their maple syrup option with strawberries and it came out nice and warm. If you're in the area, you've got to give them a try! Great service and delicious coffee, definitely stopping in our last day in town. Sidenote, they have a super cute gift shop connected to the coffee shop with so many cute items. I got myself an adorable swag tea to remember my trip here to New Hampshire. Was in Laconia for a Rotary event and one if the members praised the coffee horse as a great place to have some coffee and relax before our next event, so I headed there. Was not disappointed in the least. This is a really nice location, a great coffee house and a great place to relax, veg out, people watch, and catch up on the internet. The coffee is superb, including dairy alternatives. I had a really good egg and cheese sandwich on ciabatta. Fresh ingredients, all with a smile from the efficient and friendly baristas. I am really not one to even leave a bad review. If you do not have anything nice to say. Just don't say it. However. They do have the best coffee around, hands down. And last year it was run much better. But what coffee place in this day and age does not stock up on milk. I usually order slim or 2% milk with my coffee. With many times have to get oak milk. For a while. I was wondering if they were closing. They also removed items from their small lunch menu. Seriously. If you're going to run a coffee roasting company. Stock up. This is not once in a while that this happens. I have honestly stopped going or ordering online because of this. read more

Pros: great atmosphere, beautiful artwork, nice location, cute marketplace attached, food made from scratch, some drinks are delicious. Cons: the chai here is *very* weak tasting like just hot water and milk, some of the specialty lattes have homemade flavors that are not thoroughly strained (example: my maple-pumpkin latte was stringy and I was spitting out pumpkin pieces that were not strained), depending on how busy it gets you may not get your drink order for well over 15 minutes. read more

This is a very cute coffee shop in Laconia flanked by build ins, tin ceiling tile, and local art. Charming ambiance, but thought it was ridiculous to wait 25 mins for an iced coffee. Just plain iced coffee with cream. I understand other espresso or speciality drinks can take some time, but think they could improve their ops by streamlining fast and easy drinks into their own queue, instead of bottlenecking everything into one, especially given they had 3-4 ppl working behind the counter. This place is so awesome. They also have a location right up the road in Lakeport that's equally cool. Every time I'm in Laconia I make a point to stop in. I habitually get their whole bean coffee. I'm a coffee snob and to me their's is some of the best in the state. Today I got a breakfast sandie with jalapeños and hot sauce which hit the spot. They also have small waffles with different toppings which is unique, and other items like energy bites and such. I'm pretty sure the Lakeport spot does sandwiches and I've gotten a great scone from there as well. I love the vibe in both places. You gotta check em out! read more

I will preface this review by saying this comes from somewhat of a coffee snob...(If I was your typical, not-so-picky coffee drinker OR if this was not a coffee roaster, this would have received a better review for sure.) I will start off with the good... I had a cinnamon sugar waffle and it was delicious. It is no wonder people rave about them. Also, the quality of the coffee is very good. Wayfarer has a good name in the coffee industry for a good reason. They do a great job roasting. There is also a great atmosphere at this shop. Good seating and well cared for eating area. Now the reason for the 3 stars... As good as the quality of the beans are, the baristas do not quite meet the same level of excellence. I understand that there can sometimes be newer baristas behind the counter, and one visit may not be indicative of an overall subpar bar service, but this was my 3rd time coming here, and the experience has been the same each time. First, when I approached the cashier, I had asked (all three times) what their offerings were for a pour over, and the answer each time was "light or medium/dark roast." There seemed to be little knowledge about what was being offered. I asked what origin of the beans were and only once out of the three times was I given a definitive answer. Most specialty coffee shops will know the offerings and what to expect (taste-wise) with each option. Second, I ordered a cortado, and the milk was over steamed and did not have that silky texture that cortado's are known for. (See pic) I know I will sound picky to many, but this is to genuinely help management ensure that the service is up to par with the level of excellence that Wayfarer is known for in their roasting. The girls behind the counter were kind and accommodating, but seemed under-trained. I would never hold a Starbucks or small town cafe to these standards, but since Wayfarer is a specialty coffee company, my review stands at 3 stars. read more

We've been visiting for the past few years and always looked forward to the great coffee and egg sandwiches. What on earth happened to the sandwiches? They used to be cooked fresh but now they are put in a waffle machine resulting in overcooked rubbery and dry eggs. Also, when we ordered with cheese there was practically none to be found and one leaf of spinach as an add-on. For $9 a sandwich not worth it. Please go back to preparing eggs fresh. Haven't been here for a while but have enjoyed Wayfarer Coffee Roasters in the past. We stopped in today for lunch and wow, is this place dirty! The bathroom and the stairs leading to the second floor and the floor itself in the main restaurant look like they haven't been cleaned in months. This was such a bright spot downtown when it first opened and had such great potential but now it needs fresh paint and thorough cleaning, including the windows. As to the food, the grilled BLT was really delicious but the chai tasted like nothing and was lukewarm. Please come back to your beginning and start fresh! read more

I can smell the brew just thinking about the place. Authentic expresso and cappuccino, and yes they have that big European shiny machine that hisssssses out flavor from the roasted coffee bean. We were visiting family that live in town and I was very disappointed with the service and the coffee. My mom had an iced chai tea latte that tasted like a hot tea poured over ice. It was very watery - and very bland. I even had it made with whole milk and still, just blah. She might have asked for a replacement, but I had ordered the nitro brew with cream. First it was made with milk. I asked for cream and the reason why I knew it was made with milk is because when I asked for more cream they pulled it out of the fridge - so a splash of cream was added - so little it didn't even change the color. I asked for more - and I was treated like it was a chore to make my coffee the way that I wanted. The worst part about our visit is that we sat on the lower area and literally watched 3 sets of customers trip after picking up their coffees (the first woman caught herself falling but spilled a large amount of her coffee) - the girls behind the counter saw this happen and said NOTHING. The same thing, two more times - not as dramatic as almost falling or spilling coffee. It's shameful that the business does not have this better marked. This was around 11 am on a Saturday and it wasn't soo busy that either girl when handing out finished drinks couldn't mention to the tourists that there was a slight step down on the way out. There was a sign step up painted on a beam, but nothing the other direction. I get it's a resort style town, but your staff should really treat all customers better. read more

Laid out as a "cool" place for modern young hipsters of downtown Laconia NH, whose enterprising acumen incorporates clothing, mugs, and a stand-alone fridge with off-brand drinks for sale. You line up at the counter to order, like in other coffee chains. My wife ordered a nuts and berries oatmeal and I ordered two scrambled eggs with cheese, served inside of a smallish brioche roll (yes, an egg and cheese sandwich). The music sounded like a high school battle of the garage bands. We found a small table and after a 5-10 minute wait, the counter attendant brought our breakfast orders, the coffees first. It has high ceilings, is kept clean (including bathroom), and maintains millennial charm. On leaving, we were glad we didn't stuff ourselves with what felt like the breakfast version of nouveau cuisine. This place is an absolute gem in downtown Laconia, definitely did not expect to find a coffee shop here that looks like is should be located in Nyc or Seattle. The moment you enter your hit with the intoxicating smell of fresh roasted beans and their home made waffles. It's quaint and comfortable inside and a perfect place to sit and unwind while sipping some truly amazing coffee. I kind of wish I was in college so I could have an excuse to come here and study. My go to was the chemex pour and was perfect every tine. You can definitely tell they hold quality to a high standard here. Lovely little coffee shop. Definitely appealing to the high brow coffee drinking crowd. They have all the standards plus every variation of an espresso drink one could imagine. Plus they have excellent non-dairy options (we did coconut milk and almond milk, and I believe they also offered soy milk). I appreciate the freshly roasted beans, but they lacked character and development. We had a Costa Rican via a Chemex, which was far from the description of the bean. Such a cute spot in downtown Laconia! This place is walking distance from where we usually spend weekends up in NH. I love their speciality waffle selections, they're both photogenic and super tasty. The food is pricier for the location and I wish they offered more food options, but everything they do offer is made to order and you get what you pay for. Their breakfast sandwiches are made with great ingredients and you can tell everything is super fresh. Love getting a bacon egg and cheddar on their brioche rolls. They use thick cut bacon, the cheddar is sharp and the brioche roll is so good. They also put a some arugula between the rolls adding a nice refreshing crunch to your sammy. It's not the biggest breakfast sandwich, you can certainly fill up more from a Dunkin sandwich for a cheaper price but if you're looking for quality - between the food and drinks, obviously Wayfarer is the way to go! The only "complaint" I have is, it doesn't seem like they have just regular iced coffee. I normally drink ice coffee black, but here they always give me cold brew. I used to like cold brew, but it's too strong for me (maybe I should try it with some cream next time). So sometimes I just buy the hot coffee and chill it at home. But this isn't really a deal breaker for me just personal preference, clearly since I keep coming back! Also keep in mind they're closed on Sundays. read more

Coffee: We had the fantastic dark roast which was served to us in beautiful mugs with our breakfast. We came back in the afternoon and got a nitro cold brew and americano which were also great. The only thing that would have made it better was if their to go cups didn't have a styrofoam shell. We liked the coffee so much that we bought a medium and dark roast to take home. Food: The liege waffles, particularly the maple, were outstanding and served on beautiful plates made by the same potter as the aforementioned mugs! The only thing that would have made it better is if they gave us real silverware instead of plastic as the waffles were a bit hard to cut We also had a breakfast sandwich which was very good. The pickled jalapeños on the sandwich were a nice touch. Their energy bites were also a great snack to go with our coffees in the afternoon. I went on vacation and was really in the need of real coffee and this place popped up. I am also a vegan who is GF. I had been looking all over for vegan options in the area and this place did not even pop up. So, I was REALLY excited when I got there to see they make vegan AND gf waffles in many different flavors!!! I went there every single morning of my vacation to eat their maple flavored waffle. I've been to Scandinavia, Iceland, different states in the US and to Canada and never had a waffle so good! I wish this place was where I live. If I ever come back I'm going to visit this place right away. The Americano with extra shot/ almond milk I got was really good too and I am a coffee snob that hates watered down dunkins-ish coffee.
