After she left the room, I overheard another nurse, I think it was Monica C. give her a hard time for taking too long in the room. That made me feel bad for her. Dr. Daniel Shiba also was wonderful. They have a great staff and do a great job with all of the patients that come in there. They are quite busy, but handle it very well. I would recommend them highly!

When I returned to have the stitches removed, Lucia was so caring and asked how I was doing (she remembered me!) even before I went in to see the doctor. I honeslty have told all of my coworkers, friends,a nd family about this amazing medical center in Wheeling. They could care less about their patients-- the place is always empty with 20 employees running around yet the soonest I could get in for an ear infection was two weeks out (after I told them the extreme pain I was in). Fast forward 24 hours and I was in the ER with a ruptured ear drum. Thanks Healthy Trust! Unfortunately I switched them to my HMO in desperation months ago and now have been fighting with them to help me set up a specialist appointment. Completely unprofessional (made fun of my last name, and work schedule, and flat out called me a liar when I told them another doctor at their office had already scheduled my referral- I HAVE THE OFFICAL LETTER FROM YOUR OFFICE!!). Argh. I give up and am OBVIOUSLY removing myself from their practice.

I usually have no trouble getting same day service with the results being provided in a timely manner. The staff seems to be reasonably efficient and the actual service providers (i.e. phlebotomist & x-ray technician) are very competent and professional. I have no problems with this location at all.

Generally speaking, Lexington of Wheeling is a facility which is better than many. It's clean and…read morebetter organized. Staff is generally accessible and polite. I must admit that some nurses and CNs are very good. And some do not even meet the minimum competency standards! The Physical Therapy program and its staff are good, though. But please don't believe what they claim about pulmonary care in their literature including website. Lexington of Wheeling (LoW) is probably NOT a place for pulmonary rehabilitation. Please don't leave your loved ones at LoW who are in need of pulmonary care. In my opinion, LoW is neither properly equipped not their staff is sufficiently trained for this type of care. They don't have respiratory therapist on site. They don't own any equipment such as BiPAP, oxygen concentrator, etc. They rent these equipment from a third party. Most of the equipment are old and one can never be sure if those equipment even work properly. The reason I say so is because when the patients reach a hospital with elevated level of Co2 and a BiPAP machine is used there, patients get better. The question is why BiPAP machines at LoW don't have the same positive effect? There is an urgent need to check their equipment's validity and efficiency. Pulmonary patients badly need ABG tests to check the level of Co2 content in their blood. LoW does not have ABG (arterial blood gas) testing arrangement and the management does not care less. When the Co2 level shoots up to a dangerous level, all LoW does is send the patients off to a nearby hospital. Imagine the discomfort aging patients have to endure and the money it costs to the patients' healthcare insurance. And worst, the management of LoW did not have the courtesy of acknowledging and discussing complaints!

I don't recommend or not recommend Lexington. I think they know there's room for improvement, and actually working to fix it.

So it was pretty awkward for this nurse to take my temperature and my blood pressure and then there's someone in black scrubs behind her, basically going up and down on her tip toes to see what the nurse is documenting in my chart. Like a nice, brief introduction would have been nice but that never happened so yup, knocking a star down. Also, it was Just a really weird visual in general. Other than that though, everything else was smooth. I'll continue to come back to this location as long as my awesome doctor is here.

My elder sister was referred to Glenbrook ER from urgent care. The waiting room was full. They triaged her and started an IV for fluids, and put her back in the waiting room in a wheelchair. They gave her one that had a broken footrest even though there were others available. Not a huge deal but also not very comfortable, especially for a petite person. (They did give her another when I asked.) There were many people in the waiting room with IVs, people vomiting into emesis bags, people coughing, people moaning in pain. Some were masked and some were not. There were several recliners and lucky patients snagged one to sleep in. We arrived at 4 pm and I got one for my sister at around 10 or 11 pm. At 11 pm, I asked how much longer it would be and was told there were still 6 people who had arrived before her. Also, there were 16 patients in ER beds who needed to go upstairs but there were no beds. She finally was taken back at 1 am and saw a doctor at 2 am, a 10-hour wait. They were going to admit her and run more tests, so I decided to go home and get some sleep. Then at 4 am I learned that they were transferring her to Evanston because they had a bed. We had a good experience with the doctors and nurses. But the system is broken. In the future, if we have another option, I'd do that instead.

At Glenbrook mammography was so very kind doing my mammogram. She smiled, apologized for being late, helped me in all ways possible and kept encouraging me I was doing a great job. She was such a sweetheart after a long wait, I hugged her and she made me smile. On my way out, I asked for help at the reception desk as I parked at the wrong entrance and got quite lost going into the hospital. Laurie K. Was so nice! She even took time to walk me out and walk me all the way to the easiest exit to where my car was parked! I also got a hug from her so as I made my long walk back to my car, I smiled all the way! They both told me they could call someone to help me leave but I declined that. I have severe leg neuropathy so walking is difficult and painful. It's so wonderful when a smile, some encouragement and...a hug can turn a bad experience into a good one!
