While Dr. Trimble is a good doctor, his support staff lacks. TWO+ months before they started working a referral to palative care. Multiple requests for a referral to a wound care specialist. Referral to oncologist was not done in a timely fashion. Switched to seeing Joel Nachimson in Spring. Referrals were done within 2 *days*. Dr Trimble is only in the office one week a month or every other month as he lives out of state, which makes in person appointments very difficult I have never been able to see Dr. Crofoot himself. Support staff apparently wouldn't post lab results from my previous provider so one of the nurse practitioners denied antibotics for a chronic infection due to side effects of chemo treatments. read more

This has been my primary care since fall of 2014. Dr. Crofoot had been my primary until 2020. He listens, is very insightful, and really knows how to take care of a patient. Since October 2023, because Dr. Crofoot has a very large patient load I started using Dr. Trimble. Until 2020, my health has been overall pretty darn exceptional with no real ongoing issues other than some high cholesterol. Over the last few years, age has finally caught up with me. In October of 2023, reviewing my labs with Dr. Trimble, I'd developed type 2 diabetes (7.7 A1C), low free & total testosterone which it turns out was causing a lot for problems. My body fat had greatly increased, always tired, memory problems, brain fog, and pretty severe depression. It's now September 2024, and: 1. My A1C is now 5.6 2. I'm on TRT and all of those other problems are gone. There were several other diagnoses and meds that Dr. Trimble helped with as well. 3. I've lost 52 lbs. More in fat because I've also gained muscle from working out and testosterone being a normal level again. Before Dr. Trimble worked on my, I was basically just alive, but not really living. Now my entire quality of life has GREATLY improved. There isn't enough that I could ever say to thank Dr. Trimble enough. read more

Beware Future and present clients when dealing with Chandler Braun in billing department. Giving this place a 1 star rating because I can't give it a no star. On May 14, 2024 I had a televisit with my doctor to get my lab results. All of that week I got emails and text messages reminding me of my appointment. The day of my appointment I received another email with a link to pre register. Upon clicking on that link I had to provide a method of payment to proceed with my televisit. Fast forward to today (a month later) I received an email stating that I have A $40 balance. So I called the doctor's office to get a clarification on why I had a balance. The female that answered the phone stated that it was a balance from May 14 televisit appointment. I advised her that I provided my debit card to pay in order for me to proceed with my televisit. She couldn't figured it out so she transferred me to the billing department (which is option 3 that I originally chose in the first place). Chandler Braun comes to the phone and states, "Mr. Maldonado I hear that you have a question on the $40 balance". I replied yes, Chandler can you explain why am I receiving a $40 bill for my May televisit appointment when I provided the day of my appointment my debit card information to proceed with my televisit. Chandler responded, "It's part of your insurance copay Mr. Maldonado then stated, it's like when you go to HEB to buy groceries you have to pay for your groceries". I told Chandler that I'm fully aware of my copay and that I didn't need for him to use shopping at HEB as an example, as he was explaining it to a child. Chandler then asked, "So how are you going to take care of the balance?" Still not answering my question. So I told Chandler that he doesn't need to be rushing me to make a payment, when he hasn't even answered my question (Yes, I raised my voice because he was money hungry for the damn $40 than to answer my question). Chandler then went on in threatening to cancel my future appointments if I didn't make this payment (Well he chose the right one today). I had some not so kind words for him and told him that I don't give a fawk if he cancels my future appointments. As they are not the only clinic in Houston. He hung up the phone. I called right back and requested to speak to a manager. The phone was passed back to Chandler and stated, "Buddy I'm the farthest you will get to before speaking with Gordon Crofoot". Here I am writing this review to alert others of this unprofessional individual, who is just chasing green and not giving a care of the clients. I would've paid the $40 with no issues if a clear clarification was given, but when I'm being disrespected and threatened I don't take those lightly. So again future and present clients Chandler has done this to others as he did it to me so casually, but like I said he chose the right one today. read more

This was my very first time coming to this doctors office. I have never had a primary care doctor before and I am happy to say I have finally found one. The staff here is very welcoming, friendly, and easy to talk to. I immediately felt comfortable with everyone. You are immediately greeted at the door by the receptionist. I have been a patient here for 7 years. The office staff are very friendly and the environment is very clean. The providers are very caring and work hard to keep their patients healthy. The only problem that I have had with this office is the long wait times. Even with an appointment, you end up waiting 45+ minutes to see Maggie, the NP. When this has been addressed, she has responded negatively and unapologetic. At my last appointment, yesterday, she actually made the comment that if I didn't like it, I could leave. I was taken aback by this response. In addition, as of late, they have been slow to respond to referral and prescription refill requests. Perhaps their practice has just grown to an unmanageable size. Hopefully things improve. I love Dr. Crofoot and will continue seeing him. As for the NP, hopefully she can learn to manage her time better and lose the attitude. read more

I have been going to Dr. Crofoot's office since 2015. I can attest that the office has taken a very noticeable nosedive. The staff turnaround has been insane as of late; each time I go, there is a different person working at the front who usually has no clue what they are doing, or has no basic customer service skills in person & over the phone. Getting in contact with the office used to be relatively easy; however, now it seems to be an act of congress to actually speak to someone who is NOT the answering service during NORMAL hours (not administrative hours during 12PM-2PM). In addition to the unusual turn around up front, there have been so many different phlebotomists I have experienced, I cannot even count anymore. The phlebotomists have been pretty average with O.K personalities; however, many of them missed the memo on valuing patient's privacy by leaving doors completely opened, which I find to be an issue. I never want to see any other patients across the hall receiving their blood draw, and I certainly would not want that to be reciprocated. Overall: It has become abundantly clear that Dr. Crofoot's office has taken on much more than they can manage. The morale of the office is NOT the same anymore. I used to love going for check-ups and now, I loathe the thought of having to go there. I would say the only thing that keeps me returning is the LGBT representation. The healthcare professionals there are well-versed and knowledgeable of the overall health of the LGBT community on a social, emotional, mental, and physical aspect; however, I am not sure how much more of this office I can take. Please start back being an office that seemed to CARE, and not one that tries to "get you in, and get you out" or "care" for too many patients for the almighty dollar; it is becoming more and more clear that that is what is happening here, and it is saddening to say the least. read more

A quick synopsis of the horrors I experienced at Crofoot's office: I made the appointment for intake bloodwork for 2 PM, June 29, with a Crofoot Administrator. The appointment, evidently, was instead scheduled for 9 AM. Come June 28, in the afternoon, I email same administrator, asking for an update on the appointment - I hadn't received two promised things, a phone call reminder the day before, nor had I received a welcome email. No response from the admin. Morning of 6/29, I get a call at 9:30 AM, saying, "Mr. Carrillo, you missed your appointment. Are you ok?" Of course, I said, I am scheduled for this afternoon, though there is no confirmation nor welcome email, as I was promised. Totally baffled. The office receptionist said, we could try and get you in at 10:30 AM for blood work. I rushed to get ready and to clear my work in order to make it in at that time. I arrived at 10:23 AM. I waited until after 10:48 AM to even get called back to the lab. The office is the filthiest, most un-clinical space I have visited that isn't a free clinic. The staff were confused. The ambiance reflects the apathy that prevails as the mood in the office. The soonest followup appointment they could offer was 3 weeks away. That is untenable. No one should wait for 3 weeks for the results of over 12 blood vials. The receptionist explains to me that Dr. Crofoot spends weeks away every month at his Mexico clinic. I found that I wouldn't even meet with Crofoot, rather the female Nurse Practitioner. I am a gay man, I prefer to meet with a gay male doctor for my medical care. I did not sign up for care from a female Nurse Practitioner. Everyone has a right to choose their provider. I wasn't given the choice. I expressed my concern then and there with the receptionist and she couldn't solve the problem... simply book me with the doctor. I called after the appointment was over and asked for my follow up to be canceled with the NP and to schedule me with the doctor. She then transfers me to the NP and the NP said and I quote, "What do you want?" I said, "I was just transferred to you. The receptionist told me you wanted to talk to me." She proceeded to berate me for not wanting to see her. Parade of fools... I have never, nor will I ever tolerate that. Bottom line: If you don't mind the circus show approach to your sensitive records, if you don't mind incompetence when it comes to caring for you, go quickly to Crofoot. They'll fix you right up with hearty doses of both kinds of experience. read more

Horrible experience today! I was cussed out by the large white "lady" at the side front desk. She tried to assault me and had to be held back by employees. She had her wrist balled and raised ready to punch me. NP Maggie White jumped in the conversation. She was condescending and argumentative towards me. Also , I have never met her and started yelling at me from her desk. I asked her for the address because the police were asking and she came to window and said "why are you such a delicate flower? You don't know where you are? Maybe you should see a head doctor " and she walked away. She is a disgrace to the medical community. The front desk Hispanic girl tired to pop off on me as well. Yelling and standing over her desk demanding that I do what she says. Screaming and tellling me that I won't be seen anymore. She was the only one I was talking to but she decided to include herself in attacking me. NP Abel Flores stood there and did absolutely nothing. He said he saw everything happen yet he did nothing. Well actually he sided with his staff. Especially after I called the cops and other people came out opening the door for me to leave. John called my pharmacy and cancelled all my medications out of spite. Able Flores promised to call my pharmacy back and approve my meds. He did not. If you are a patient here you should find a new doctor. They should not treat any patient in the manner I was treated. If you are thinking of going to this doctor, don't. Their is nothing special about this clinic plus I don't believe Dr Crofoot exists. I was told NP Derick didn't have time to see me for my urgent matter yet for 45 min 4 employees had time to attack me. I then went to an urgent care right after to be seen by a medical professional. PLEASE ASK FOR YOUR RECORDS AND FIND A BETTER PROVIDE. WE DONT NEED OUR LGBT COMMUNITY TO BE ATTACKED LIKE THIS. I will file a complaint with the Texas Boards and Texas Nurse Practitioner boards on those involved. Also the OIG will be notified as it is illegal for a doctor to practice in another facility or country and billing for services in his name. read more

I went for blood work on Dec 1st. Since then non of my labs have been posted except for STD which I've been in hibernation for 11 months so what would you expect. I'm a diabetic of 44 year ra and was looking for my A1C, cholesterol And kidney and liver function. Nothing was ever posted. These are vital to my well being. I didn't even receive a HIV notification which I knew was neg but damn. Since Dr. Abel Flores has left major downfall. This is not a practice unless you are having issues with STDs or HIV apparently. It's bad enough that you never actually meet Dr Crofoot so if he is such a genius I'm confident his experience isn't looking after me like it was promised. So you end up "on paper" meeting with not a medical doctor but a physicians assistant, who like to pretend to be doctors but patient beware... you're putting your health in the hands in a person who only must have just a two-year masters degree and 6 months of a residency and passing an exam.... so basically what you are really relying on is this persons ability to collect enough experience to actually notice when something "doesn't seem quite right" and then be able to care enough, alert enough, and be able to relax their ego enough to god willing at least consult with dr crofoot if they notice or are listening attentively enough and using their brains.... but guess what??? Wait for it.... in the last year, you don't even get to see a physicians assistant!!! Every single visit in 2019 has had the physicians assistant in their office and they have had an intern meeting with me (the patient). That's right - this entire year I haven't met once even with a physicians assistant let alone a medical doctor. If you have a question that the intern doesn't know the answer the intern will excuse themselves and go to the office, attempt to paraphrase whatever you just told the intern in a classic game of telephone... and then the p.a. Will tell the intern who will in turn tell you what the intern thinks they heard from the PA who was responding to the interns version of the question they think they heard from you, the patient.... but don't worry - I'm sure that's not a model for malpractice at all... So attention class-action lawyers and Texas medical board .... This is the best part .... if you look at the medical records and their notes of what took place during the medical visit - there is no mention of the intern exclusively doing the visit at all- it's all signed by the PA- and there is so much written in the chart that all appears to be CYA that will say "patient was advised about the need for daily exercise" or "importance of 8 hours of sleep" and it's shocking that not only did these conversations not take place at all... but that PA never even met or spoke with the patient.... this can't be legal and what are they waiting for? A well documented case of progressively more severe health symptoms showing up each visit with an intern, the patient voicing concern and being promised follow up but not getting it and falling through the cracks like the other hundreds of patients and then a clear cut case of wrongful death that could have and should have been preventable but the PAs were too busy on their Apps or working on more lucrative projects rather than wake up and remember why they are there in the first place to meaningfully help each individual patient as an individual? They are all nice enough good people (ahem... bless their hearts)... but they have definitely lost their way if they think all of us patients are the exact same and all they need to do is look for abnormalities in labs otherwise they can make the intern do it...... that's pathetic and we deserve more and I can get a much better DOCTOR who is less concerned with being cool and Is actively doing their job for the right reasons..... hopefully when they read this they are able to calm their egos down enough to not instinctively argue any little detail they have read that their perception sees as inaccurate and be blinded with their bias resulting in them not accepting this as the wake up call they need before things get even worse... if they have any true character and ethics they will read this as objective as they can and at least fact check by looking at a large random sample of their patients (at least 50) and ask 1) how many times in the office in 2019. 2) how many times have they truly met with a pA or md or intern 3) what do the charts say. 4). What redundancy measures are in place to prevent patients falling through the cracks. 5) is there a policy or way in which patients can opt out from seeing an intern that isn't day-of and embarrassing - and at least can a patient have that embarrassing opt out same -day. 6) what feedback channels are available for patients to ensure their voice is heard with their concerns so it's not belittled by a game of telephone by office staff or the intern. 7). How will change if it happens be communicated. 8) what values does the office hold true and what can they commit to upholding to give patients confidence in the future read more

Really happy with my first visit. The nurse practitioner was very thoughtful and even funny. The office staff was also great from the initial booking of my appointment, all the way until my visit. They promptly sent all over paperwork after my booking so that it all could be done in advance. They also were prompt in sending in my scripts as well. My overall exam was thorough, and I feel great about my decision in choosing a new primary care physician. read more

I was able to get an appointment right away for a horrible cough and Maggie helped diagnose it quickly, and gave me a great referral too. I am a relatively new patient of Dr. Abel Flores in the office of Gordon Crofoot, MD. He has spent-considerable amount of time with me during each office visit, explaining the results of my lab tests and answering any questions I had in layman's terms so I could fully understand and make an informed decision! Today was another appointment with Dr Flores. I can only say THANK YOU. I was having anxiety issues, and both his nurse and Dr Flores gave me a hug to let me know everything would be OK. Dr Flores came in right on schedule and spent 35 minutes with me. He listened carefully and we talked about what could be done. I have only had 1 other doctor that cares the way Dr Flores does. The staff's always friendly, calls my by name, and treats me with respect. Again, I cant recommend a doctors office more highly. I give them a 5* rating. read more

I was going to a clinic that treated me weird when I mentioned I wanted an HIV test. My friend told me about Dr.Crofoot. I was a bit nervous about going to a doctor that primarily caters to the GLBT community but man... I've never had a better Doctor. The staff is a lot of fun. You can be completely honest in a judgement free zone. They are up to date on GLBT Health issues. But most of all they are like talking to very smart friends. You can just talk to them. At first I was relieved to find a doctor that caters to the LGBT community, but so far all of my experiences have been negative. First, I called because I had bronchitis and I needed treatment. I was told that I could not be seen for two weeks unless I had been exposed to an STI/STD. I decided to continue with them after this. Recently, I went in for an STI treatment and after treatment, my symptoms did not go away. I called the office to have a follow up and my phone call was not returned for over 3 days after my initial call. (I called multiple times and I was told that the nurse would call me me within 24-48 business hours). In order to properly diagnose me, a blood sample was needed so I went in and now it has been over a week and I have not received any results. I called yesterday morning to see what my results were, and I was told I would be contacted within 24-48hrs. I called again this afternoon and I was told I should get a call before the weekend. I initially went in December 12 and it is now January 4th and I still do not have an answer. read more
