I wish I could say great things about Dr Gordon but I cannot. I went to him upon recommendation with a full set of blood tests from multiple dates r.e. hormone levels, and having already commenced hormone therapy a few months prior in a different city. His secretary is a complete nightmare, failing to schedule meetings, asking for erroneous information, demanding money (a LOT) over the phone before you even see the doctor, etc. My first visit seemed good enough even though the secretary (Erin) forgot to put me in the schedule. Dr Gordon's initial knowledge base seemed impressive. I had major surgeries both before and after and so my second scheduled meeting was to come after my next surgery. In the mean time, materials that were promised me never arrived, information I wanted passed along to the Doctor either never got to him or were ignored, and on occasion Dr Gordon himself would send an email exclaiming that he was not going to help in any way besides hormones, which drew a "No Duh" reaction from me as I saw him for no other purpose. He likes to brag about how he is on this board and that board, and how he advises on TV shows, etc, but after all was said and done, AFTER I had paid him nearly $1000 (and I must admit after I ignored my wife telling me I should bail on him because she did not have a good feeling about him) he suddenly writes to me that he needed to get test results from me that would have required (no joke) that I literally go back in time about 6 months (no possible way to get them as they were pre-hormone baseline tests; he asked this of me 3 months After Giving Me Hormone Advice). The sheer impossibility of his request - a request that should have been voiced to me before even my first visit to him ever, was the last straw & I called the office and demanded a near-complete refund (3/4 of the ~$1000; allowing for the $ paid for one set of lab tests and at least the tiny amount of information I gained at the 1st meeting) or else I was going to be calling a lawyer. His office promptly refunded the requested amount.
Even now I wonder if I should report him - I did finally receive the document he promised...Three Months Late! Expecting a comprehensive "program" as he originally described it to me, it was nothing more than him stating basic common facts about hormones and a reprint of my labs, as well as a few 'advertisements' regarding other forthcoming $$ charges and 'necessary additional labs' that he just happened to forget mentioning anytime prior.
Its really a shame, as I expect he does have some good knowledge in his head, but he seems too wrapped up in his own self-impressed life to actually come down from his own pedestal and give a person the kind of down-to-earth focus and attention that any good doctor should.
Cannot and will not ever recommend Dr Gordon. And for his own good he should fire his secretary who is a disaster. read more
