Haircut and style only this time. This is an Aveda Concept Salon, which means from the minute you walk in to the minute you leave, you and your hair are the focus of your stylist. The Wilmette salon is warm and welcoming and there is a nice rapport among the stylists. No tension or uptight attitudes. Just professional, friendly and laid back. You can choose the skill level of your stylist (and cost) so it's a fit for all budgets and occasions. I needed a hairstyle refresh so I splurged and scheduled with a Senior Master Stylist. I was offered a delicious fruit infused water when I arrived, the hair washing, which I dread at other places was done in a room apart from the main studio, so very tranquil. But the special touch was the chair/bed you sit in. Instead of squishing your neck in the curved bowl, your head is resting on a very comfortable pad. There is an ottoman as well so you're basically lounging while getting your hair washed and scalp massaged. Complimentary hand massage with the best smelling Aveda lotion is part of the service. Most importantly, I love, love, love my haircut. It was worth every penny. read more

I had Carrie, and she is awesome (vaccinated too FYI). She is so funny and personable! Moreover, she is great at what she does and understands your hair and has it looking shiny and bouncy at the end. She makes the process fly by, and I would love to get her for my next haircut too. I'm not happy with the direction the salon is moving. They nearly always do a nice job with haircuts, but it's so impersonal. To save money on staffing, they push you on to the internet or texting to connect with them or make appointments. Pretty soon robots are doing your hair. Salons are supposed to be a way to leave the high tech work day behind and enjoy a personal experience - If it starts out by pushing you away, they've lost touch. read more
