I've read reviews at other salons where people say that their eyes burned a little but I had none of that. She was very detailed and gentle. I also had my lashes tinted. I normally use an eyelash curler every day because my lashes just don't have any curl. And now they look fantastic even without mascara. I highly recommend them.

I'll admit it took me some time to get comfortable with going back to Kim since someone touching your eyes during a pandemic can be a little scary. But once I went and saw that Kim was taking all necessary safety precautions I felt much safer. And was happy to have beautiful lashes and brows once again! Kim is great at listening to her clients. I'm constantly telling her I want to go as natural as possible since you can't go for too dramatic eyes during a pandemic. She's also super fast and the time goes even faster in her chair since she's fun to chat with. Back in the Celebrity Skin days I used to book at least 6 weeks ahead of time since she was so busy between lashes, waxing, tanning and more. Now that she has her own place she's a bit more flexible and I"m usually able to get the time slots i need around a busy work schedule and playing cheuffer to my children. And she's very understanding when I ask to reschedule appointments...again and again. I highly recommend Kim if you have any needs when it comes to waxing or making your eyelashes pop (extensions, dye, etc). So glad to see her new biz thriving during these crazy times!

I've done the fake lash extensions for years now and they just don't do it for me anymore. I also don't want to look like Mr. Snuffleupagus when I'm trying to look cute. If I do get falsies I'm lucky if they last a week. I've also done magnetic lashes too but those don't stay on well resulting in the corners being undone. I wanted my lashes to look as natural as possible with some curl to it. My lashes naturally lie flat and even with mascara, they don't appear to stand out. Lash perms can give your own lashes the extra curl needed. Most of all the perms last for at least a month! Odette was sweet, calm and patient with me given this was my first time doing this. She explained the process and checked in with me often since the perm solution they put on can cause mild stinging. I felt that but it didn't cause serious discomfort. In the days ahead, my eyes did crust up but what I was left with were a beautiful set of lashes that were of my own, just a bit enhanced to give you that va-va-va voom oomph to your look. If paired with eyelash primer and a coat of mascara, they stand out guaranteeing you won't get that Snuffleupagus aesthetic. I would definitely recommend lash perms for a special occasion/vacation. My session lasted an hour allowing for relaxation. In fact, I took a 20-minute nap while on the table! Parking is a breeze with Posh Beauty situated in a large strip mall with adequate free parking. Get your lash on and look fabulous!

Words cannot express how much I love this place. This salon is on the nicer side of salons and is very boutique-y. It is very open and spacious as well as friendly environment. The receptionist is really friendly and I'm able to get a quick appointment that fits in my schedule. They have later appointments too, so it is really convenient for anyone who works a little later. I have been going here for quite some time now and trust each and every hairstylist there. (Shelly and Carol especially). One thing that really impressed me about Shelly is that she takes her time with your hair and really cares about her work. At the end of the haircut or style, she will ask you if you like it and if you don't, she will fix it, right then and there. Her day is not complete if her clients aren't happy. She is incredibly talented and the funniest stylist I have ever had. Going into my hair cut it is always entertaining. She is always cracking jokes and full of energy. Whenever I have a special occasion, I have them cut and style my hair. They even give me tips on how to do it myself as well as product recommendations. Overall, I love the staff, the atmosphere and the fact that Starbucks is in the same building, always a bonus in my opinion! I have been a very satisfied client of Scissors Edge for more than 16 years, and I would never consider going anyplace else as long as they are in business. The owner is extremely accommodating, stands behind her stylists, and bends over backward to ensure that each client leaves the establishment happy with the results. On the very few occasions that I have not felt totally comfortable with my results, I have had a totally free re-do, no argument, no questions asked. The salon is a busy, bustling place, with an edginess to it that you don't find in most suburban salons. The owner and her stylists are up on newest trends and products, and will only recommend things to you if they feel they would be beneficial to your type of hair and lifestyle. They have a great variety of products available, and if you buy something and decide you don't like it after trying it a few times, you can return it for a full refund.And, their services and products are quite reasonably priced. This review was way overdue....I have been going to scissors edge to see Shelly for haircuts for over 7 years now. I routinely receive tons of compliments about my hair cut and often people ask if I had gotten my haircut when I hadn't, and really it is because the cut just grow's out so well. A few months back, I decided to do balayage to my hair as I've seen it on so many of my celebrity idols....I had no idea how it would look, but I absolutely LOVE IT! I get more and more compliments every day and I'm so happy with it! I have so much confidence in Shelly and value her opinion...so when she said it looked great, I couldn't agree more with her. The maintenance is so easy to keep with this style especially for busy working mom like myself. They sell amazing products - my favorite is the Moroccan oil! All the stylists at the salon are really nice and overall just a friendly environment to get your hair done. I'd highly recommend this salon, you will NOT be disappointed! read more

Shelly's team does a great job insuring you are comfortable and that at a minimum your expectations are met, if not consistently exceeded. Liz, Elizabeth, Jennifer and Pam, & Shelly herself, to name but just a few, are outstanding stylists and true professionals. This salon is so great! Friendly, welcoming, and professional environment in a great location Melina is my hair stylist and she never fails to make me happy! Whether it's color or cut she makes sure to listen to what I want and puts her creative spin on it. Melina is also so personable and fun to talk with while I'm getting my hair done! I have attached pictures down below, Melina cut off 5 inches of my hair. Longer in the front, shorter with AMAZING layers in the back. I feel so cute and fresh! Owned by 2 or 3 sisters, the Scissors Edge always welcomes you with sincere smiles and provides an extremely clean and fun atmosphere. Since 2002, I have yet to go to any other Salon! This place is like a zoo. The owner(short loud lady) runs around like she's a wild goose. I was there for two and a half hours and she did 2 cuts that's it. Other than that she went from stylist to stylist to talk poorly about one of the employees whose name I believe was Shelby. She was very unprofessional and rude when I tried to ask my stylist a question she told me to not interrupt her. Best Salon on the North Shore ! Longest business in Winnetka. 42 years, actually. 4 generations of cutting , coloring, special occasion looks, and more. If there is EVER an issue, Shelly will make sure the situation is taken care of. The customer service and quality of work is #1 at Scissors Edge. She rolled her eyes at how uneven it was. Then she did harm herself. I haven't forgotten how you made me feel, Estelle. I've given this the time and perspective since Feb to finally write this review. It's been 5 long months since you disrespected my wishes to grow out my hair by cutting off more than 2 inches in a 3.5-month period. That set me back 4 months of growing time and my hair was shorter than in November of the previous year. She was supposed to cut 1/2 inch. She showed me the amount, I agreed, but then she lost her focus and got scissor happy. Estelle, to say "I'm sorry you're unhappy with the length" is not an apology. You can't apologize for someone's reaction to your mistake. You can only apologize for your mistake. "I am sorry I cut off too much" is an apology. But that's too close to the truth for you to face.
