We found Gordo's on a local list of the top 10 hamburger joints in Cincinnati. Went for a late lunch to try out one of their half pound burgers. So many excellent choices, and primo toppings. All burgers served with steak fries, and reasonably priced for all of the gourmet choices that you have. Gary works the dining room Monday-Friday and is friendly and knowledgeable. He raved about how the burgers are cooked to temperature so my husband ordered medium expecting pink in the middle. He was disappointed to see that his burger was cooked just as much as my medium well was. And the bun was a little over baked for my liking. But besides those two small things, everything was great. We will be back to try one of the other amazing looking burgers.

Really nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Walked in and enjoyed the entire atmosphere. The menu has a nice variety. We had the egg rolls and the PBJ hamburger. The hamburger was unique and recommended by the server and we enjoyed it. We had a great experience until we got the bill and realized they charge an extra 3% if you use the credit card. I'm dumbfounded more and more by small business owners that don't realize the cost of doing business. They want the past the cost along to the customer. This is disappointing because it may prevent me from coming here over the next four years as my son goes to Xavier. It is a miss on the ownership to not understand the viewpoint of the customer.

The bugers here are super thick! I don't think we were anticipating them to be that big. I am normally a smash burger type of girl so this wasn't my favorite, but if you like a thick burger than this is the place for you. The place is small but the service was good and friendly. The flavor and cook of the burger was great. I would like to come back and try their appetizers and sandwiches.

Found this little dive among reviews in the Chowdown Cincinnati group. It did not disappoint. We arrived around lunch time. Seating was available the service was super friendly and fast. The menu was definitely unique. We ordered the Hawaiian, the GFAT, and the Hangover. All served with fries and a pickle spear. The food was very appealing, delicious, and fast. We will definitely be bringing some burger lovers back with us next time to try this amazing spot.

What a fantastic spot. The building itself is very cool- a small little bar. The staff/service was great and the food was incredible. Everything we tried was delicious & I'm sad I live far away so I can't try more food often.

It has been a few years since we had dinner at GORDO's and nothing has changed. The menu is exactly the same and the Burgers, oh the Burgers, they are every bit as good as I remembered. Service is always excellent. I remember the first time I was here about 15 years ago. From the outside GORDO's doesn't look like much, but it is cozy inside and the burgers are spectacular. It is only about 3 blocks from Xavier University and I have always seen families with young kids there too.

The burgers are unreal!! I had the GFAT burger and it was one of the best I've had. Service is good too! The ambiance is nothing fancy, but it's a good ole' dive bar.

Dive bar/neighborhood vibes. Nothing fancy but burgers are excellent. Mexican burger was layered with sweet ham, jalepenos, a cilantro mayo, and a THICC patty. Grab a beer and burger and you won't be disappointed

Went to the cider yelp event nearby and came here at the suggestion of my son from reddit. Burgers were huge! Fried pickles spears and pork bell tacos were excellent. My IPA burger was very good. I would have liked more cheese fondue on it. My son got the same burger and my wife got the French burger. This was all of our first times and left happy and satisfied.

It's places like this, that give you hope for America. The delight that you receive from the gloriously towering burgers to the wonderfully charming staff, (Ashland and Wendy for example!) make you want to make that extra drive to have a piece of yesteryear quality and character that only a rustic pub like this can deliver...only when the owner, chef and staff line it all up with a commitment to joy in heart and on the table. Great steaks are like great men, the best ones have a little fat on them, and this burger meat has the perfect balance. The Wallendas Bros. would be proud. Ashland is so energetic the Energizer Bunny sends her hate mail. I like her.

If you didn't know Gordo's Pub & Bar was in Norwood on Montgomery Road across from the library, you'd pass it and never see it. The outside is extremely unassuming. Once you walk in, however, you're greeted with a nicely updated bar/restaurant. The tables are solid and include a mix of traditional tables and high tops. Our server was extraordinary. She was very helpful and always had a smile. She really made the dining experience special. She guided us to the Mushroom appetizer, which was unexpected and absolutely delicious. I didn't read the description and was expecting standard fried mushrooms. I was SO wrong! The dish was a fantastic mixture of mushrooms and cheese served with thin sliced baguettes. I highly recommend this dish! The server also recommended getting a burger, explaining they are known for their burgers. I opted for the IPA Burger with fries. The fries were thick cut and tasty, with just the right amount of salt. All of our burgers were massive. We asked for recommendations on how to attack eating it. Our server explained the approach is very personal and everyone does it differently. After a quick try of eating my burger in the traditional way, I opted to cut it up with a knife and fork. It was simply too big and the juiciness of the burger rendered the bun quite wet. For me, cutting it up was the way to go. The beer selection is as large as their burgers. I didn't ask if they had any non-alcoholic options (there were none on the menu). We generally stick with water or tea, so it wasn't really an issue. That said, if you enjoy a beer with you burger, there are plenty to choose from. I'd definitely come back.

Amazing! Outside dinning is so relaxing. Burgers were cooked to perfection and the PBJ is something special. Don't walk run!

Cartoonishly shaped burger patty. Not wide enough for the bun, but ridiculously tall.

I came out in December for their Miracle pop-up in 2025…read more As someone who has gone to a ton of holiday cocktail bars and pop-ups over the last 10 years, Overlook Lodge's is probably the best I've ever been to. Be aware it will be FAST. Look at the order ahead of time if you're a picky eater/drinker. They run your appointment like clockwork, and you'll be in-and-out, gulping down cocktails, through the entire experience. Your two drinks are included (this year, anyway), and I'd honestly be surprised if you managed to have time for a third. Time zips by fast. That being said, because they do it this way, you essentially have constant service, there's "events" that happen at the end of your reservation time, (I don't want to spoil it, but cover your drink!), and then they kick you out. Service was friendly, though, and I saw the server make time to take group photos for all of the tables (including ours) with someone at the table's camera. (No bullshit "group photo" upsells here) It's kinda loud, though, and I wouldn't recommend this as a chill meet-up-and-socialize spot. (If you wanna talk, they have an addendum, Christmas-themed laid-back bar next door.) It's more of a "get blasted in the face by Christmas for an hour and then leave" experience. It's pretty loud, and talking can be a bit difficult over the music and constant interruptions (more drinks? Photos? Cute Christmas video montage?) But this works in its favor as it feels the most Christmas, over-the-top, and seasonal out of all the holiday bars I've ever been to. It also keeps it from feeling too crowded as reservations are required, so you for-sure have a seat and you don't have to stand forever in line to wait for drinks. I'd probably guesstimate that bar staff is making all of their seasonal drinks, constantly, and servers just pick one up to deliver. With the capacity in here, it would make sense. No idea what the bar is like the rest of the year; this is just a review for the Miracle pop-up which, again, is probably the best I've been to in the Midwest. Cincinnati, you're spoiled down here. (Sidenote, I was absolutely taken aback by their TV presentation on the wall. It's hard to describe, but it isn't just a projector showing a giant rectangle. It's specifically slotted into the holes in-between holiday decorations. Staff told me that had to hire special technicians to get it to show up that way and that's seriously a level of detail I am so amazed by.)

To start this place is a "sit down" but you have to order at the bar and they bring it to you. We were a tad thrown off with that since they literally had waiters and people roaming around, didn't make sense to me. But that was just the start! We decided to order nachos and a pretzel to start the meal. The pretzel was disgusting, hard and lacking flavor and the $14 nachos was a side plate with a small portion of nachos on it. I asked the server what was with the size of the nachos and he said he though they were normal. They aren't, you go to a normal bar and for $14 comes out a platter with nachos that are loaded. Then our mains came out, my wife's salad was gross, lacking flavor and with dry chicken and my burger was decent. For $90 this meal should have been WAYYY better. We left feeling very disappointed and will definitely not be coming back.
