This is a pretty busy place and it's tiny inside, so if the weather isn't great you may not get a seat for a while. Service was friendly. We sat at the bar just before it filled up. It was cold outside so we didn't want to eat on the patio. I ordered a cosmo which was good, as well as the espresso martini. We had a burger, boneless wings in BBQ, fries and empanadas. First time dining while visiting my nephew and his family. We did call ahead and immediately got a table on a Thursday evening. We sat inside, but they do have a number of nice seating options outside. I ordered their double cheeseburger and some shoestring fries at the recommendation of my nephew, and I got a buffalo egg roll at the recommendation of my server. The hamburger was delicious. It reminded me of a Five Guys Burger. I'd definitely order it and the fries again. The Buffalo egg roll was gross. It was basically some cheese in an egg roll wrap cut in half. The service was nice and friendly. As for atmosphere, there wasn't much memorable about it. Overall, my impressions are this is a good local joint to grab a delicious burger. Pro Tip: After dinner, walk across the street to grab an ice cream at Graeter's, then stroll through the local park. It makes for a nice end to the meal. read more

Parkside came to our neighborhood a couple of years ago and has quickly become our go-to spot in Hyde Park Square. It has it all: reasonably priced food, kids' menu, great draft beer, cocktails, a nice patio, and wonderful staff. If you've been to their sister restaurant, Delwood, expect pretty much the same experience here, but with a completely different menu, which is great! For starters, we almost always order the dip duo, which includes both their guacamole and pimento cheese dip, served with corn tortilla chips ($12). I love the pimento cheese dip and could order that alone ($10), but for $2 more, throw in the guacamole too! Another great appetizer is the Buffalo Chicken Egg Rolls, featuring pulled chicken, mozzarella, pepperoni, zucchini, Crystal Hot Sauce, and blue cheese crumble ($6 each). Also, the Parkside chopped salad is nice to split as either an appetizer or a side. It combines romaine, tomato, red onion, avocado, roasted chickpeas, goat cheese, and honey dijon vinaigrette ($7 half). There are three items on the main menu that I rotate between. The grilled chicken sandwich is a Peruvian marinated chargrilled chicken breast topped with roasted garlic aioli, white cheddar, lettuce, tomato, and onion ($15). This is probably my most ordered. I also really like the veggie burger, which is a falafel patty topped the same as the chicken sandwich ($13). If you like falafel, definitely give this a try. I also order the boneless wings from time to time, which is a rather large portion of hand-battered chicken ($15). Don't forget to wash it all down with a Three Floyds Zombie Dust pale ale, which is always on tap ($7). read more

Surprisingly good. Stopped by for brunch on a nice day. Perfect outdoor seating front side overlooking Erie Av. Started out with a Bloody Mary. Nothing special or over the top, but was really good. We had the wedge salad with optional chicken. Normally I'll always do grilled but the wide talk me into the fried chicken. It was absolutely delicious. We were on the search for a new restaurant to try and we came across this gem! It is rather small on the inside but we were lucky enough to score a spot at the bar. Our bartender was really nice and we had great service. The drinks and food were delicious. We started with the egg roll and empanadas, both of which are definitely worth trying! For our entrees, we got a chicken sandwich and a pimento cheese burger. These were so delicious and perfectly cooked. Not greasy at all which was nice! The shoestring fries with their aioli are too tier (chefs kiss on the aioli)! The space can get loud and parking isn't great, but those are the only negatives. Checked out Parkside on their last soft open date. I am so excited about this addition to Hyde Park. From the team behind Delwood in Mt Lookout, I thought everything over delivered. The double cheeseburger is on the menu, but since we've had that in Mt Lookout we decided to try the Hot Honey Pepperoni pizza and the Fish Tacos after some chips and guacamole and a kale salad. The fish taco. Ohhh the fish taco. A beautiful piece of perfectly fried fish with a spicy slaw. I was absolutely amazed with this taco. The guacamole was right up there with the best in the city. The fresh lime, cilantro and red onion were nicely balanced and served with thin crispy chips. I think I would get the regular pepperoni pizza next time - the honey was a little more sweet and less hot. I think its will be a family pleaser but I like more hot, less honey. I can't wait to get back for the full menu. This place is going to be packed all summer for sure! read more

We visited Parkside for the first time last Sunday afternoon. They were somewhat busy but there were still tables available and no wait for the bar which we chose to try. Had heard good things about the pimento burger and it did not disappoint! Good flavor and well cooked. Happily surprised to see yuca fries so we chose those for our side. Just the right amount of crispy and the aioli sauce paired very well. Was able to keep an eye on two different NFL games from our seats at the bar while we enjoyed a couple of their offerings on tap. From the hostess to the bartenders and the food runners everyone was friendly and attentive. The place was active but not too loud to have a conversation. Will definitely be back! read more

BIG fan of Parkside Hyde Park. We've always loved their sister restaurant Delwood, so were super excited when Parkside opened up. We've been here a ton of time since opening and now it's our go-to restaurant. The staff are always super friendly and welcoming. There is almost always some sort of line, so you're lucky if you sit right down - but to me that just tells you how good it is! My favorite drink is the Azalea, but also down for a good Old Fashion or Aperol Spritz. They always have a great rotating draft as well. On the food side we always love to switch between the Guacamole, Buffalo Chicken Egg Rolls, and Shoestring Fries. My favorite salad is their No Work Wedge, which I crave on the regular. As for main dishes our go to's are the Classic Double Cheeseburger, Grilled Chicken Sandwich, and Parkside Nuggies. We've never had something we don't love, because Parkside is truly a gem! read more

First time trying Parkside this past weekend, and I was very pleased. The outdoor seating is perfect for nice weather, they have large umbrellas to shade the sun, and comfy couches if drinks and appetizers are more your vibe. We tried a few of the appetizers as well as the fish tacos and overall the food was an 7/10. The dip was the best thing we tried, especially the pimento dip!! I would definitely recommend this and orderinf for a table to share as an appetizer! We also tried the buffalo egg rolls and these were great as well. If you dont like spicy, avoid the sauce they come with. The empanadas on the other hand, were not so pleasant. They looked so good on the outside, but they lacked any flavor and tasted almost like dog food. We could barely finish one because they were just very unedible. I dont recommend the empanadas at all. Lastly, we tried the fish tacos and fries and both were very good! I enjoyed the sauce the fries came in! Overall, Parkside is a super cute new restaurant that I will definitely be coming back to. I had the aperol spritz, which I really liked. We ordered the dip duo that included the guacamole and pimiento cheese. Tasty and good for sharing. I had the empanadas from the appetizer section as my dinner, along with fries. Both were delicious. It was a beautiful day so we chose to sit outside. Outdoor seating is pretty limited. Mostly low seats , no regular dinner tables. A great option in Hyde Park Square. I plan to return soon. read more

This has been on my list to try for quite some time and I'm so glad I finally tried it. It's from the same owners of Delwood (one of my favorite casual restaurants) so I had some high expectations. This cozy spot in Hyde Park square exceeded my already high expectations. The Buffalo chicken eggrolls were delicious as an appetizer, but the Pimento cheeseburger stole the show. Highly recommend coming here early and putting your name in because it will likely be a 30+ minute wait on the weekends. However, you can just walk around Hyde Park square to kill some time and they will text you when table is ready. read more

I've been eagerly awaiting Parkside's opening because Delwood (its sister restaurant) is one of my family's favorite restaurants. It did not disappoint! Pros: The kale Caesar salad is the best Caesar salad I've ever had. The kale is chopped and the dressing is smoky and lemony. Great dressing-to-greens ratio. And the croutons! Delish. So good. I started craving it again as soon as I was done. The fish tacos are really tasty. I knew they would be since Delwood has the best fish sandwich in the city. The service was really friendly and attentive. Cons: The fish tacos are pretty small for the price ($12). I do recognize that food costs have gone up overall, but three tacos would feel like more of a meal. It's currently really loud in there, but they're working on getting insulation (or something) put up on the ceilings and that should help a lot. I'm excited to go back. Stopped by Parkside for dinner with a friend on a Friday night. Got there early, so I was able to easily get a seat. However, it is a smaller space so it filled up quickly the closer it got to dinner time. Parkside is definitely giving neighborhood bar vibes. Our server was very attentive, making sure we had everything we needed with drinks and food. Dirty martini was quite good! Based on this visit, I have to give it 4 stars based on the food. I ordered the half Wedge Salad and the Buffalo Egg Rolls. It was fine, but didn't really make me want to return for it. Amazing! We love Delwood in Mt. Lookout (that burger!), so we were excited to hear that the same owners were opening in Hyde Park. We were lucky to attend a soft opening and can't wait to go back. We really enjoyed our first trip to Parkside. It definitely had Delwood vibes. The yuca fries, burger, Peruvian chicken, and guac were all very good. The space is small but adequate. I really like their music. It wasn't loud but a lot of old school stuff. Our bartender was friendly and made good cocktails for my wife. Hard to complain there.
