Aside from the hilarious name, Ihad to ty this place after reading the reviews. Iwas in town to do some end-of-season skiing and I know from experience that the food at the ski lodge is not good (ok it's awful). Also, there's no bar at the lodge. Lawrenceburger (I giggle just writing the name) is a short 10-minute drive from the slopes. The beers are cheap and they have a daily special (burger, fries, coleslaw). read more

This was my 2nd visit here and my first in a really long time. The restaurant itself had a really old school but still nice look to it. It really fit the ascetic of the type of restaurant they were trying to be. Their menu was on the small side which tells me they focus on the things they do well which I appreciate. Most of their menu was variations of burgers such as the Sloppy Joe and the Portobello. However the most common thing is to get your burger whether it's a standard single, jr, or double (there's probably bigger bit that's what I saw. Then there's a list of toppings some of which are "premium" toppings that cost extra and some are not. I got a build your own single with bacon, swiss, and bleu cheese on it. The burger patty was cooked perfectly and made a great base for my toppings. Swiss and bleu cheese are 2 really sharp cheeses so the burger had plenty of flavour and I rather enjoyed it. The Lays chips as a side was a bit lazy I think as a standard side though (I should've probably asked for fries but I think that should be the default side for a burger in my opinion anyway.) There's a few different appetizers you can get here and we settled on cheese curds which I would rate as slightly above average. The curds were good but their marinara dipping sauce was disappointing. For dessert we both got shakes me a chocolate one and my wife a strawberry one. We were looking for a place to eat lunch before we visited the Creation Museum in Kentucky. Yelp suggested this place. We both had burgers with onion rings. The burger was very good & tasted like something you would eat from home. The coleslaw was amazing!! The service was great , our waitress was very friendly and treated us with a smile. The restaurant atmosphere was great. Each table had its own tv. We may not ever be back in the area but we will definitely recommend this place to others who may travel. read more

The inside seemed a little smokey - like maybe they don't have the best exhaust system - so you might end up smelling like grease if you eat inside. The sweet potato waffle fries are served with a side of caramel sauce. I thought this was bizarre but after trying it, I am hooked! I may never be able to eat sweet potato fries without caramel again :) Our burgers came out as we ordered and were delicious! First visit to Lawrenceburg. My friend shared that we needed to visit. As usual, I opened up my Yelp app to check it out first. Always guarded to just go somewhere without trolling Yelp reviews and star rating. This choice did not disappoint. It is not a big place, you enter through door into a smaller dining area and bar. There is seating both inside and out. We opted for the outside seating, perfect weather. This was a working lunch so no adult beverages allowed, but could see this being the place to come in the evenings and weekends. There are only limited outside seating options, but I can see how these would be the most requested seats when the weather cooperates. We ordered the burger lunch special. They allow you to create your own burger. I was the picky one, no bun, add grilled mushrooms and fully dressed. The waiter was awesome about it! Sometimes I feel like "that customer." You can order regular fries or their sweet potato fries. They are waffle cut sweet potato fries and they come with caramel sauce, yes you read that correctly! I did not try it but it must be a favorite! A weird thing on the menu was to add peanut butter to your burger. Too scared to add that, but hey someone has ordered it! A friend told me it had changed so I went there a month ago and it was very good but I needed a second meal to change my mind. They have open kitchen. They wore the microwave out. After suspicion, we asked if burgers were frozen. Was told just the Turkey burger my daughter ordered was frozen patties which were microwaved first an that's it. No way though they sold that many Turkey burgers. They had microwave going a lot. That being said, it could have been that I just ordered the wrong thing. I put blue cheese on it, which I think it why I didn't like it. It made the burger dry and peppery. I helped someone move to Lawrenceburg the other day and was starving after. I prefer hole in the wall or dive places. It was also during the start of this Corina Virus stuff. I ran across this place. It is a family owned business. I love supporting family ran things. Went in and it was a long bar with a grill at the end. We were greeted immediately by 2 kind ladies and the cook. We found the hand sani and then proceeded to show ourselves to a table. We ordered some beers and cheese curd for apps. YUM. The wait staff aka the family were extremely nice and personable. I ended up ordering the Lawrenceburger with Peanut Butter and a shit ton of pickles and fries on the side. My buddy ordered a waffle burger and hashbrown. Our food came out piping hot and great. We ordered a few beers to wash this down with as well. Food was excellent and fast. The service was on point. I'm so glad I stopped in here. I will go back for sure when I get back to town. Very disappointing. I went here a couple years ago and it was amazing food. This time, everything other than the burger was frozen, the kids meal was straight out of the microwave, pretzel bits were cold in the center. I was never asked the temp for my burger so I figured med rare, standard... instead I got well done, so much so that I couldn't eat it, sent it back and the next one was raw in the middle. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! My coworkers and I ordered from here last Friday for lunch. We sent one person to pick up our five orders. The server, Kerri, was rude and ASKED HIM IF HE WAS GOING TO TIP HER! Then, when he gave her the tip for his food and tried to pay for the rest of ours with the money we sent, she told him she wouldn't use the Whiskey's gift card for one of the orders because, "I would if I was getting tipped, but I'm not. So I'm not going to use this." When she brought the food out she told my coworker sarcastically, "thanks for doing this to me, you are so sweet." I called Whiskey's, both are owned by the same person. She defended her server! This isn't the first time I have had horrible service at Lawrenceburger, but it is the last. They have lost our business and until they can have a code of conduct implemented, the do not deserve to be in business. read more

If you're craving a burger then make this your spot! I hope no one walks in here thinking they are going to eat healthy, because that's definitely not the case, but the big juicy burgers make it so worth it. The restaurant is pretty small with not a ton of seating (outdoor seating is an option) but I can only think of one instance when I've had to wait for a table. When you walk in, you can smell the hamburgers and deep fried appetizers and you can help yourself to free peanuts or popcorn. The menu has a handful of appetizer options (fried pickles are great and come with their peppercorn ranch for dipping). The best deal, and the reason I go, is for the Lawrenceburger which allows you to build your own burger with a variety of toppings - there are toppings for every person's preference, I'm certain. The fries are thin and crispy, but don't come with a burger (additional charge) instead, each burger comes with a bag of Ruffles chips. There are additional menu items such as sandwiches, fish & chips, and a wedge salad, but considering the name LawrenceBURGER, just go for the burger. They do have a bar and usually have a decent selection of craft beer in bottles (typically only one draft selection - the last time I went it was Rhinegeist Cougar). Don't hesitate! I personally love this place. I always get the build your own Lawrenceburger, medium rare with goat cheese, mushrooms, garlic & the horseradish cream sauce and it's amazing every time. The burger is juice yet has a crunch texture on the outside. The place could use a good cleaning on the inside but the food is alway great and the service is fantastic as well! I highly recommend this place! They hours are awful though. I'm not sure if they can't get workers or if it is a seasonal thing but it is not very accommodating to the working class.. closed Monday and Tuesday. This place has a bar feel to it. The sign said to seat myself so I did and the waiter promptly came over with a menu. The menu mainly consisted of their burger and the many different toppings you can put on it. I'm not a burger girl so I got the chicken B.L.T. sandwich. While I waited on my sandwich I watched American Pickers on the tv at my table and the cook at the grill. Apparently the place is just one room with the kitchen right at the bar. My food came out after a little bit and it was delicious. The chicken was so moist, the bacon so bacony...The fries were pretty decent though I don't know if they were worth the extra $2. So far this is my favorite place in Lawrenceburg. I would definitely stop by here for lunch, and probably dinner, if you're in the area. It's the Terry's Turf Club of Indiana! En route to an activity in rural Indiana, my friends and I passed by Lawrenceburger, with its vibrant street corner signage and wafting smells of delicious beef. We knew where we'd be stopping for lunch. The inside mimics Terry's exactly: an open grill kitchen, bar, baskets of peanuts with shells littering the floor, and of course, an eclectic burger menu. With toppings like goat cheese and horseradish sauce, brandy peppercorn sauce, whiskey BBQ, or peanut butter, you know you're in for a treat. Our half-pound burgers were served up juicy on a homemade bun. I topped mine with goat cheese, caramelized onions, mushrooms, and horseradish sauce. It was a culinary delight. For sides, I had a cup of coleslaw and Lawrenceburger's famous pulled pork BBQ. So tender, so flavorful; the pulled pork can top a burger or stand on its own. The table shared a basket of fried jalepenos and a basket of sweet potato waffle fries drizzled with caramel sauce. The latter made for a better dessert than a side dish, as it was super sweet. Definitely worth ordering. Beverages flowed like rivers, with choices from local beers to sweet tea to root beer floats. There was also a popcorn machine at the front of the room, in case you don't like peanuts. During the summer, there's patio seating. Another thing that caught my attention: while the restaurant is a dive, the bathrooms were pristine. The ladies' room was very clean, spacious, and decorated with brass furnishings and posters of 1950s advertising. The only downfall of Lawrenceburger was a small, personal gripe. There are personal televisions in every booth. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I detest watching television during a meal. It's distracting. Spend time talking to the people you're dining with. My friends and I tried to turn off the set (which comes with a remote although the monitor is within arms' length.) It automatically turned itself back on. I think we ended up throwing a napkin over it... Lawrenceburger is one of the tastier eateries you'll find in Indiana. My running club hit Lawrenceburger after doing Mud-Stash at Perfect North. This is a charming little place. The interior is welcoming and inviting. The main restaurant area has three or four tables and several booths. My club took up about twenty-six spots and I would estimate total capacity is about forty total. There are also five seats at the bar and a nice patio area that has a few more tables. Lawrenceburger specializes in burgers and this place didn't disappoint. There are signature burgers or you can build your own with gourmet toppings for an additional charge. Some of these additional toppings were minced garlic, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, chipotle sauce, brandy peppercorn sauce, horseradish cream sauce, bacon, goat cheese and fried jalapenos. I went with a burger with swiss and american cheese (complimentary and included on all burgers), grilled onions, grilled mushrooms and the horseradish cream sauce. (See my picture!) My burger was juicy, savory and had the right amount of greasiness to make it absolutely messy and delicious. The only problem I had with my food was that the sauce compromised the integrity of the bun and it quickly began falling apart. No worries, friends. I was able to fight the good fight and devour the entire thing. Accompanying my burger was our good friend, french fries, which were crispy, lightly salted and served as a great complement to my burger. Lawrenceburger does has other sandwiches like pulled pork, sloppy joes, chicken and portabella mushroom. Some of the other sides I saw were creamy cole slaw, sea salt fries and sweet potato waffle fries drizzled with caramel. They also offer some salads and a few other things that I can't recall as I was channeling my inner burger. This fine establishment also offers one beer on tap, several bottled beers, wine and a small selection of liquors. They have a daily drink special on the large chalkboard overseeing the restaurant area. Add in a few tv's and you have a burger joint ready to feed the masses. My lone complaint was that service was slow. This is totally understandable, though, since our party took up most of the restaurant and the staff only had two or three servers at this time. I will say the staff was friendly and polite and the manager did accommodate us as a friend called ahead of time to make a reservation. Under normal circumstances I'm sure service is much quicker and attentive. All in all I left this place with a full stomach and a sense of satisfaction. We were recently in Lawrenceburg for a Spartan race and stopped by here for a bite to eat. A small roadside spot that has plenty of seating given its size and has a nice outdoor patio space as well. Help yourself to a basket of peanuts when you walk in. The kitchen and grill area is open and you can watch the cooks slap the burger patties right in front of you. I tried a burger with blue cheese and ran it through the garden. It was a decent burger. Slightly overcooked (well done) for my taste, but still good. The sweet potato waffle fries are served with a side of caramel sauce. A neat idea if you like sweet stuff. The prices for the custom toppings is a little high in my opinion. We were over in Indiana for a bridal shower and wanted to grab lunch beforehand. I used Yelp to find some local restaurants. The first one was Lawrenceburger. (old Whisky Tavern) It had mixed reviews but I thought i'd give it a go. From the outside it looks like nothing special, but the inside is really cute, but a little small. We waited a bit for a table to open up. Lauren loved the free popcorn and peanuts.So much that she filled up on those and didn't want to eat after that. I really liked the tables! Each one has a personal TV with remote. This was perfect as she was too full too each. She watched Family Feud while I ate. I ordered a burger with BBQ and goat cheese. The burger was thick and juicy, but could have used a little more seasoning. The weird combo was my fault. I really wanted goat cheese, but they didn't have any sweet preserves or jam to put on it, so I thought BBQ would work since its sweeter. It didn't. But like I said, that's all on me. The bun was great, and those fries. HOLY HECK. best fries I have ever had! Sweet potato fries with a caramel dipping sauce. SO GOOD.
