I've been going to Gorgeous nails to get dipping nails for about 2 years and had been great until yesterday. Normally, Jasmin or her brother have done my nails and it has been a great experience. Yesterday, an older man did my nails and it took 1 hour and 45 minutes. Usually it is only an hour. Not only did it take so long, it was painful. He kept pushing my cuticles so far back with the drill that 4 of them are bleeding today. I am not sure if I will be coming back to this nail salon. read more

I've been to this salon twice for standard mani/pedis and had great experiences both times! They do a great job, the shop is clean and cute (they recently remodeled), and the prices are fair. Even though I don't get gel (it personally weakens my nails too much), I've been impressed with how long-lasting my mani/pedis have been when I visit this salon. After trying out a different salon recently and having a negative experience, it really highlighted what a gem Gorgeous Nails & Spa is! I wish I had come here instead. I've had my nails done here a few times by different people and I have always left happy. Everyone is nice and they do a good job with their pedicures and shellac manicures. The prices are reasonable although a pedicure can quickly become expensive with all the choices on the menu and add-ons. I usually choose the basic pedicure and it's perfect for me (includes callous remover). I'm not into the paraffin wrap but if it's your thing, go for it. I just left after a fabulous pedicure (the 'Ultimate' on the menu). Lewis was great. He quietly set out to make my experience perfect. I was in heaven. Before I moved out of the country for a few years, I had been to that same salon so naturally, I went back after returning to Austin. It's been remodeled beautifully. The new massage chairs are the best I've ever sat in. I decided to have my eyebrows waxed while my nails dried and she was fabulous as well. Eh. Walked in and got a pedicure. $47 for a basic pedicure with gel seems a bit much for me. Once I got seated, the water was lukewarm. The lady got started right away and turned off the massage chair. What the heck? Halfway through, she asked me if I wanted the paraffin treatment, which I declined. She kept asking and telling me how good it was for your feet. No thank you again for the third time. The gel polish and paint job looks descent, though. Will go back to my standby VIP nails on IH35 and Stasney for $32. read more

I've gone to Gorgeous Nails for years and have always had a good experience. Except for yesterday. I started getting SNS nails in the last few months. They've done a great job, especially Tina and Lan. But two people I've never had before did my SNS yesterday. It took three hours between the two of them, my nails were MUCH shorter than what I asked for, and they did such a sloppy job. A different person did each hand, which resulted in the inconsistency and one hand has fake nail extensions and the other hand just has SNS on top of my real nails. I can't believe I paid 40 dollars for this. The nails are uneven and they didn't listen to me when I expressed my concern. I don't think I'll be going back, which is a shame because I've really enjoyed going there previous to this. read more

Oh, this is so hard to write...I used to love this place. Though I only went a few times a year for a pedicure, it was a nice treat for me and I thought it was a great value for the service. Since the re-vamp (it used to be Tips and Toes) everything has gone way down hill. Here's a list: - The new massage chairs are not adjustable. So, since i'm short, my neck massage is on my skull. The old chairs were heavenly. - My pedicurist (Lauren?) washed the utensils she scrubbed my feet with in the tub she wanted me to put my feet back into. What?! I said no, I'm not doing that. So she changed the water. She also let gross dead skin pile up on the towel she wanted me to put my feet back on. I asked her to change it, so she folded it over. She was surprised at my request. - Several times I said "Ouch" because it hurt. I've got totally normal feet, I promise. The response from my pedicurist was, "Don't worry about it." I had to explain that I was saying "ouch" because it HURT. She was surprised. She was also very busy paying attention to what everyone else was doing while she was working on me. (I think she is the owner) - They used to play the radio. Now they play MUZAK. Here's the inexcusable part and the final straw as to why I will never return. THEY PLAYED THE SAME 3 SONGS OVER AND OVER THE WHOLE TIME I WAS THERE. "The Sound of Silence" (Muzak version) was one of them. I was there for an hour! I thought I was going to cut my own throat. It was the first time ever I didn't tip. I will never go back. So sad. It used to be a great place. read more

Currently obsessed with SNS nails and they do a fabulous job here! It does take some time, so do plan to be at the salon for close to an hour and if you have to have gel/SNS removal expect it to be over an hour. I didn't mind waiting because I had a great conversation with one of the ladies. Also, they make sure that every step of the way, you're satisfied with the way your nails look. I love that! My pedicure was so soothing. It was my first time visiting for a pedicure in a while because I had a toe/toenail injury but she was awesome. First time here today. Walked in during weekday no wait. Seated promptly. Spa pedicure seasalt scrub included with basic pedicure. Tina did my nails Lisa my pedicure. Friendly and attentive. Plus side was some white wine to help relax more. When I first walked in I did tell Lisa that I was there for a pedicure and a fill plus replace a broken nail. I did tell Lisa that I wanted the gel polish and she gave me many books with many options and I asked her if there was a difference in price on some of them and she had told me no . However when Tina started to do my nails she informed me that there was gels that did cost more and once giving me a price for my fills with gel polish she then said oh it will be $5 more to fix the broken nail when I already had informed her when I walked in and she tells me that she did not notice and that now it will be $5 more eventhough she was looking at my hands while quoting me a price and then later decided to add $5 . Prior to walking in I had looked at Yelp and it said if I checked in I would get 10% off however Tina which I think is the owner told me that I would have to do the review first and she would have to see it in order to give me the 10% off. Tina made sure to read the review and ensure that it was a good one before applying the discount. Therefore needless to say I had to come back and edit. In addition I felt a little pressured to get a full set because I originally went in there with a fill and of course I did have some lifting from the previous set and she kept insisting that I take them all off and get a brand new set even after giving me the fills she insisted that I take them off and do it all over again. The replaced nail is wider than the rest of them even though I did tell her twice to make it narrow and more like the other ones however it is wide and does not match also the shape is different one is more .2 year and the other one is more oval and rounded as I requested. Also I asked her for a cut down and my thumbs do not match because one is longer than the other. Overall I don't think the place was entirely horrific however I would suggest the customer be a little weary and definitely attentive to the job that is done on your nails. I think if I were to rate the spa based on work alone I may give them a 3.5-4. I just think it was the pressure of the the Yelp review in order to get the discount and the pressure of trying to get me to pay for extra services such as the removal of all my nails as well as a full set that makes me give them a 3. I felt this experience a lot like pressure from a car lot trying to get me to buy something I did not want. read more

An older woman did my nails (SNS)... Tina, maybe? She was extremely rough with everything she did. As she began the process of taking off my old SNS nails she tried to lift and flick the intact SNS off of my natural nail (without applying acetone soaked cotton). The entire reason I get SNS is bc I have weak, fragile nails. She also twisted my hands in awkward positions, grabbed and threw my hands around, twisted my fingers, and when she cut me she laughed. A younger woman did my pedicure. I tend to need a pedicure about once every 3 weeks or so with minimal chipping. In this case, the pedicure polish (Essie) lasted less than a week. I honestly don't know why I paid for this experience. Please don't make the same mistake I made. Go somewhere else. read more

I took my granddaughter to have her nails done with the SNS nails and I got a plain manicure. The cost was a whopping $78. But what bothered me was the fact that granddaughter had to sit with solution on her hands for about 45 minutes because no one seemed to want to wait on us. I waited about 30 minutes before I was waited on. My manicure was good but we entered the salon at 1:38 and left at a quarter to four. No apologies for the wait. read more

This is my absolute favorite place to get my nails done. I feel like a traitor when I go elsewhere. Ms. Lauren is so sweet and always does a wonderful job on my gel manicures. Ms. Tina is awesome when I want an acrylic and gel manicure. Ms. Dao is amazing at pedicures. She always goes above and beyond when it comes to the deluxe spa pedi. I have no desire to come back here. Hana did my basic pedi and didn't clean up the paint on my skin. Tina did my basic mani and cut me but apparently had no idea until I pointed out the blood. She then put some green stuff on it. Glue? Alcohol? I don't know but it burned and an 40 minutes later it is still painful. She also cut the young girls finger that I was with. Not the friendliest of people. My nails look decent but I don't want to come back neither would I recommend anyone to come here for fear they might have a similar experience. read more

Never going again! I don't understand some of these places but it seems very skiddish. It's like there's one individual who is being beyond the "Boss." I was simply getting a manicure, everything was fine...Then it's time to paint my nails, another lady, older I'm guessing she's in charge, whatever. She rushes, forcefully doing my nails. I'm sorry I requested her to wax my eyebrows. Again, forcefully even pulling my baby hairs near my bangs. My eyebrows were left very red. I had to leave before I scared everyone in that salon away. I did warn a mom who was waiting for her daughter to get a pedicure. When I say skiddish salon, it's just not my first time in an environment where I feel like the employees are just there to work on orders not for just income. This was the worst manicure I've had in my life! I was the only person in there getting a manicure as one lady was getting a pedicure. The lady was trying to rush through my nails, and I asked to get my acrylics taken off. She started peeling them off without soaking OR buffing them down and saying soaking would take 30mins. PAINFUL!! I kept telling her no, I wanted to soak them off first, but she peeled 3 nails completely off until I stood up to leave. She then finally put my nails to soak after that, but we sat in silence the rest of the time because I was so mad and hurting from my nails. Never ever going back again. read more

I have been going to this place for a while now... and i m not going back... not only results are never the same but ... its noisy, the tv is always working and music is playing mainly the same stuff over and over, staff always talks to each other in a different language and ... i don't care what they are saying but they often do talk point and giggle... it feels that they are laughing at you or other clients. To me a pedicure is little time that i don't need to talk to anyone and really relax and maybe read a magazine... and it was very often not the case They have lots of polishes and colors to chose from but most of the bottles are old and dry polishes are mixed with deluders and that kills the quality of the polish, polishes are often very thick and crack fast... plus very often they mix colors in bottles to create new colors i guess... Not too long ago they did a remodeling of the place but in a few month its back to "normal" bunch of boxes sitting there and here all over the place, stuff stored in corners... Last time i went there i really did not appreciate the attitude... the lady that took me to do a pedicure did offer me by showing the menu a speciality pedicure... i said " no thank you, just a regular one" .... she insisted and pointed out to my feet and said "no good, you must" .... again i said no thank you, just regular one she almost threw my foot back to water... here she started talking to her coworker in their language giggling and point out ... about 10 min later she was filing my heels and again said kinda making a disgusting face " no good, you want paraffin?" Don't get me wrong... doing pedicures is not everyones type of job.. and did not have disgusting feet! i do pedicures regularly and never "let it go" i have tried special pedicures and paraffin's and having scraping my feet for 4 longer minutes is not really worth it to me.... both times i did try a spa pedicure the scrub and the mask was placed on my legs not on my feet... and scrubbing my calfs is not really helping the smoothness of my heels ...regular pedicure works for me... After i refused to have a paraffin bath she couldn't rush faster to finish my treatment... and once she was done -quickly got up and pointed out to drying section and said 'you go dry there' and walked away... once i got to the drying section with my purse and shoes.... she approached me again and said "pay now" like i was bout to run i guess lol So what was supposed to be a relaxing experience was really annoying and not pleasant! not going back... and to add one more thing... i have done manicure there only once and regretted it every since... never done manicure there ever again.. even tho i was coming for pedi... for actually years... they don't care about their clients, they don't care about cleanliness, they don't care about quality... they are just located nicely so good traffic of people come thru... read more

One of the worst manicures and pedicures I've ever gotten. Started with the pedicure- the girl seemed to have no clue what she was doing. At one point, to get the scrub off my legs, she used the course bristle brush on my legs and if felt like she was just scratching me. Prior to putting on the polish, she didn't put my flip flops on, so when another woman tried to put them on and bumped one, instead of cleaning it up and making it look right, she just dabbed some on and made it clear I was to move. No help taking my phone, purse or drink. I finally had acetone on my nails to soak off my old gels, and in not helping me, I actually ruined my phone case by getting acetone on it. Then, I switched to another person for a gel mani. I had asked multiple times if they needed to soak off the gel I already had on. The acetone hadn't been on long, and he just hacked away to get it off. My nails were not clean but he said it would be fine. Also, while he brought over the metal tools in the sanitary bag, it wasn't sealed, so I'm guessing they just switch tools in and out. Worthless. Lengths of each nail are uneven and he barely removed cuticles form the nail bed area. When it came time for polish, he gooped so much onto each nail, I have bubbles in them and ridges when you look from the side. The polish doesn't reach to the edges of the nails. It looks like junk. The guy who did my nails also checked me out and made it very clear I was getting 15% off but exactly what the full price would be so I would know what to tip. I tipped because I felt compelled to but not because I thought they did a good job. I will definitely not be going back! read more
