I should have posted this months ago. I got my only professional (?) pedicure here last year when my sister took me and my mother here as a treat. My mother and I both got manicures and I was the only one who opted for a pedicure as well. I got a very nice pedicure and a very stubborn nail fungus as well. In my entire life I have never had a nail fungus UNTIL I got a pedicure here. I couldn't imagine ever getting such a thing but this nail salon delivered one right to me. I moved to Austin from NYC in October and have been searching for a great nail salon. I couldn't be happier with the service and offerings at Gorgeous Nails. In addition to gel polish, they also offer SNS which I like to do occasionally and is a nice alternative to gel. The technicians are so welcoming and friendly. This was my second visit. I went with my girlfriend and we both got pedicures and I got a manicure. We had a blast. The man and wife team worked on us (Tuan and Lauren). The took such good care of us and did a great job on our nails. We learned how to say Hello and Thank you in Vietnamese. (xin chao and cm n) and learned a lot about these lovely people. I think if anyone is unhappy with the service, that they should speak directly with Lauren or Tuan (Tony). They both are super intelligent and excellent business people. But most of all, they are warm and friendly and care to offer great service. I will definitely go back. Thanks to all of you! read more

Very sweet staff but this was a very poor job. I wanted an SNS nail removal and just a regular manicure afterwards. The lady attending me thought I had on fake tips (it was my actual nail) so she cut down my nail really short, let my hands soak in acetone for 10 minutes and used that little drill machine to file my nails even more and cut me twice, both resulting in me bleeding.... Nail removal took an hour and 15 and I was the only customer. Sadly, they still didn't fully take off the gel layer from my nail so I have to go elsewhere to get it done.... I wouldn't recommend. read more

Got a gel manicure from this place and really disappointed in the quality of the gel. It did not even last a week before the edges started to peel up and come off. Usually a gel manicure will last at least 2 weeks, and after 2 weeks I have to soak my nails to get the polish off. I have never had it peel off like it did from this place. read more

I have been going to this nail salon for a few months and was referred by friends and family. I will never go there again. I was there to get a lip and eyebrow wax along with a manicure. After my wax service I was asked to sit at one of the attendants chair. The lady took off my nail polish as she finished two men walked into the salon and asked for manicure. The lady working on my hands got up and went over to assist the men. Not a excuse me or an explanation, so after 5 min I got up to pay for my service. I called and asked to speak to the manager and was told the boss didn't come in until Sunday. The lady on the phone said the ladies didn't speak english, not sure why that matters. RUDE RUDE RUDE!! I will never go there again and will pass this on to the friends and family and people who will ask for a recommendation. I guess since they get more $$$ for a pedicure service , the customers getting a manicure gets ignored or better yet they just get up from their chair and service the I can get more $$$ customers. read more

The lap of luxury was presented to me the first time I walked into this spa. I was immediately transported to elegance and excellence. The ambient nature sounds were so inviting. The selection of beverages was amazing. The lighting was just right! The color selection is vast. Fast forward to recently, I felt the same way but I wish the ambient music was back. Not only have I gotten great manicures and pedicures here, but the owners and employees are as sweet as can be. Very clean salon, lots of great colors, and my nails look and feel great. Elsewhere I've had those OK manicures that took forever and those quickies where you don't feel like you've gotten enough pampering. Gorgeous Nails hit the sweet spot. I came to this spot a lot when it was Tips and Toes and generally had a good experience, but when I stopped in today for a manicure I was surprised at the changes. I'd like to say good things, but truly, the place was dirty -- dusty machinery and bottles, debris on the floor, old wadded up towels on the stations -- and most of the people who worked there were sitting around looking at their phones without clients and not cleaning up. My nails were poorly shaped. I pointed out a few that could be evened out. I rarely get manicures, and I when I do it's so that my cuticles can be cleaned up and my nails nicely shaped. Didn't happen. Ultimately I left before the polish, paying but not tipping, and I don't plan to come back again. I don't think this business will survive -- it was mostly empty on a Saturday afternoon -- unless they up their service. Maybe the reviews will help them do so. read more

Edit: I sadly need to retract this entire review. I made it on a whim because they told me if I made a review right there, I'd get a discount so duh. I was loyal to this spot for months. Even when they did a less than ok job, I still was thankful and tipped well because ultimately, I still was having someone else do my nails. I noticed they started charging me more and more each time, and when questioned that, they mentioned how they changed prices. The final straw was when I was having acrylics removed and my nail tech went under my natural nail into the soft bed and it starter bleeding. Instead of trying to stop the bleeding, she dunked my entire hand into a bowl of acetone used to remove the acrylics because she didnt think I had noticed the sharp pain in my nail. Acetone on an open wound is a whole other level. I remained polite because people make mistakes even tho painful. She over charged me and tried to say because I got an accent nail painted is why my total was $15 more than it should have been, despite the blood. I have not returned here and have since found elsewhere. I was hesitant to change this review because when its good, its good but this was too much and also a health issue. Open wounds should not be dunked into acetone. I hope they realize people actually pay attention to prices and also that no one giving business should be taken advantage of. I am truly bummed this place ended up being a scrap. read more
