After wearing hijab, I had to hunt for a great stylist because my previous one was a male. I've tried several until I went to Sue. Great service!! Very friendly and professional stylists! I like the cleanliness of the salon. Sue, is always introducing new products, which I love. I've had many services rendered to me and all were great. I'm middle eastern with thick hair. I've had a blow dry, and wow it was amazing!!! For the first time in my life, the stylist didn't burn me. To be honest, I thought that she didn't do a good job. However, when she was done and I put my glasses on, I was pleasantly surprised with the result. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I purchased a Groupon Pampering package. It was a Mother's Day gift for my mother. I called to schedule the appointment for my mother's pampering package. The owner told me next time not to purchase groupons because they do not get paid, which I thought had nothing to do with me and should have been a KEY sign to cancel the groupon. I took my mother to her scheduled appointment, first thing the owner mentions AGAIN is that she told me before not to purchase the groupon package because they don't get paid. At that point I was turned off by her reiteration, especially since I am a first time customer. I paid for the groupon. The groupon definitely was not FREE!! And its not my problem you don't get paid. If you feel like your business is not benefiting from groupon discount special, the take the groupon down! Or better yet, don't get involved with groupon period. I told her this was my first time purchasing a groupon so she took the groupon paper and took my mom to get her facial, manicure and pedicure spa package treatment. The owner then announces AGAIN, to her employees that this is the last day that they will be accepting groupons. The owner asked if I needed any beauty services done. I said No, I would have asked for a manicure, but the way she made me feel about having a groupon, made me not want to spend any more of my money with Gorgeous for you. Then they had a young lady that did henna tattoos. She was asking me if I wanted the henna tattoos and showed me her henna tattoo work. They were very nice but I did not want to purchase. As they started the facial, they asked my mom to slump down in a salon chair to receiver her facial, which I thought they should have a chair specifically made for people to receive facials. The nail tech proceeded to do my mothers manicure and finished it but they refused to do her pedicure because the claimed that she had fungus and that they could not do the pedicure. I asked is there something else that they can replace or exchange for that service. The owner said no and said whatever you pay for the groupon is what you get and that their services are worth much more than the groupon.bo If you want a refund then you will have to see if groupon will refund you the money. I told her that this was the absolute worst experience that I will contact groupon. I then took my mom to a nearby nail salon, MAGIC nails. I told them to take a look at my mothers feet to see if she does have fungus. They said that she did not have any fungus and they did my mothers pedicure immediately with no problem. It's such a shame that I had to pay extra money for my mother to receive a pedicure from another business that she should have received from Gorgeous You Salon. Please do not waste your time here!!! If you want a good experience search for a REAL spa. This is not a SPA, it is a hole in the wall salon. read more

I found this salon on yelp and decided to give it a try. I was very glad that I did. I was a little nervous about going blonder that I have ever gone before and Sue made me feel very comfortable and my hair came out fabulous! !! !! I reserved a date at this salon last Sunday for my daughter's wedding. I had 3 of my daughters scheduled to receive hair styles for this day. It was an absolutely disappointing experience. First, the owner has a very unprofessional, rude, and horrible attitude. She charged one of my daughters $45 for no services -my daughter got sick the day of the wedding and the owner refused to give services on another day or at least apply this money to another service. She refused to go along with any other alternative other than taking the money. All she cared about was collecting the money-not accommodating her customers. If this was any other place, they would immediately find ways of accommodating their customers. Another thing-when my daughter was talking to her on the phone, the owner hung up on her while my daughter was still on the phone. The owner's demeanor is extremely rude. She claims to run a business, but part of running a business is looking after your customers with kindness, respect, and compassion. Also, my other daughters were unsatisfied with their hairstyles. She did not do what they expected her to do, and she also charged them more than what they agreed on. And she told all of them (including my sick daughter) that if they didn't pay right away, she would keep the bride in her salon and would not let her leave unless they paid under her terms. The biggest issue is not about the salon's rules-(even though they were very unfair)-the biggest issue is the way she treats her customers. It was a totally unpleasant experience for everyone, and they were absolutely disgusted by her demeanor and her way of dealing with them. Hopefully this will be a wake up call to the owner that the way you treat customers is more important than collecting money. The owner fails to realize the biggest part of running a business is customer satisfaction and accommodation, and being kind and respectful no matter what is happening. This was the first and now the last time we will ever enter this place, and also, we will not recommend this place to anyone. We have already used word of mouth to warn people about this salon, because we don't want anyone else to be treated like this.... read more

I am posting this review after over 15 visits to this salon. I can honestly say hands down I get the best blow outs, style, and service here. I've previously ventured to stylists in the city, in the western suburbs, and I have never had any luck finding someone who can appropriately style my thick, curly hair. I primarily see Sue, but I've also worked with the entire staff. Sue, Rula and staff are so incredibly talented and the service is impeccable. I schedule a visit every Sunday and I can't imagine what I would do with out Sue. I feel like I'm visiting family. The offering is large and comprehensive. She can do everything - bridal services, wedding & prom up-dos, hair coloring, facials, makeup application, lash lifts, and custom spray tans. This place is my secret gem! read more

I had made an appointment for lowlights and highlights and a haircut! This place offers so much more!! I tried a facelift masque.. Unbelievable!! I'm pretty disappointed with how my laser treatments turned out. I went through 10 sessions at $250 each (not including the tip I would always leave). So in total I spent $2500 and have no good results. Once I gave up and stopped going my hair grew back to what it was before. If you're going to already spend so much money on laser I truly recommend going somewhere a lot more professional and experienced. Honestly, one of the worst places to get your nails done at. Gel or acrylic nails are supposed to be flawless with no dents or lumps, but here I believe that's the look they go for.
