Our plumber was great. The problem is, we had to wait 15-20 minutes for a ladder to be delivered and we were charged for that time that it took for the delivery of the ladder . When I called, I was told, "but we waived the $35 dollar delivery fee for the ladder." Imagine calling for service and the company does not have the proper equipment on the vehicle, and they not charge the customer a fee to deliver said equipment, but also charge them for the time it took to deliver it? read more

This company told me that the line to my dishwasher was cold, and switched it. Well, they were wrong. Now only cold water goes to my dishwasher. When I called to ask them to change it back, they denied switching it. They are calling me a liar. My wife has noticed the change and remembers me bragging about how awesome they were for "correcting an error when didn't even know about". I even ran a tip up to their office the next day we were so pleased with the service. Never again. Next call is to the Oregon CCB. read more

Requested an estimate recently to replace a bathtub with a walk in shower for my 82 year old mother. The field guy was great - friendly - understood this was a time sensitive job, said he'd make sure we were given a complete bid including demolition to be done by a sub of their choice. After a few days of leaving messages and not hearing from them with the quote, I finally reached the office estimator - Nicole. She was unhelpful, would only talk about billing for time and materials and would not handle a sub-contractor. She was dismissive of our needs and acted like this job wasn't worth her effort. Despite her tone, I asked for her to coordinate with the field guy and call me back which she said she'd do in 24 hours. Crickets. No follow up. I've used Gormley repeatedly over the last 13 years since moving to Mac. They have always come through on the work , sometimes at a higher cost but they've been reliable. One call on a Saturday no less to another shop brought two trucks out two days later to handle the job. Fast. Courteous. Great teamwork by both. All no thanks to Gormley.... read more

My elderly mother lives in McMinnville and had a toilet installed this week. The service manager Tim was very helpful when my mom visited their store and he gave her a quote to have the new toilet installed. However, when the plumber completed the work today, 3-28-2023, she was charged an additional amount of nearly $200.00!! Most of this was listed as being a "travel fee" since they had to drive to her house to do the work. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? It's only a few miles in a relatively small town! What a bunch of crooks......they should honor the quote amount!! Why was this "travel fee" not included in the quote??? Gormley......you REALLY need to get your act together! Simply driving across town a 3 miles is PART OF DOING BUSINESS!!! I recall back during the 80's when I worked in McMinnville, Gormley had a horrible reputation then....looks like things haven't changed at all. read more

Gormley Plumbing + Mechanical McMinnville, Oregon What happened to me? I am a local McMinnville resident, and I needed a gas line installed from my home supply to an external point in my yard where I am building a natural gas firepit. I called Gormley Plumbing + Mechanical to get an estimate. They informed me that they would send someone and that the estimate would be charged to the job if I accepted the quote but there would be no charge if I did not. One of their managers came out on the 22nd of November 2022 and initially told me that as he had a bad back, he wasn't going to go into the crawl space to measure and see where the gas line went from. He didn't measure anything with a tape measure and let me know that it would be two or three weeks till I got the estimate. He must have been at my home for 15 minutes. After he left, I got into the crawl space and measured and took pictures. I sent these to Gormley on the 29th of November 2022. I then heard nothing, not for two or three weeks as I was told, but for a couple of months. In late January, after I returned from an overseas trip I called and asked about the estimate that I hadn't received. Shortly afterward I received an estimate for $3,493. No breakdown, not much detail, and a short list of exclusions. I asked for more detail and received an email reply that said "Unfortunately, I'm unable to give you the breakdown you're requesting, as that is proprietary information, although you do have the option of moving forward with this project on a time and materials basis. You may save some expense if you opt for time and materials, however, you would incur the costs to date for the estimating." I asked how much had already been spent on estimating. The answer came back "The costs to date are $697.50. This is for 4.5 hours of estimating. The hourly rate is $155.00." Like most people, I decided to get a 2nd quote before deciding how to proceed. I called another licensed plumber who said he would come and look on Friday, 27th January 2023. I'll not name that plumber as the only fact that matters is he went into the crawl space and came out to tell me that there was no gas down there of any sort and my range was being supplied from above through the wall! I was flabbergasted! We then searched for the gas. He asked to see the gas main (something that Gormley hadn't done), went up into the garage attic space, and came down with pictures of a 1-inch gas line. It was much nearer to where I needed gas for my firepit. I was really puzzled about what work they had performed that needed 4.5 hours of estimating at a future cost to me of $697.50. Did the estimator have to travel a long way from Lafayette Avenue to my home in McMinnville? Had they poured for hours over drawings of my home? Had it needed intricate calculations to estimate fittings at both ends of a length of gas pipe? Subsequently, a couple of days ago I spoke to the current owner of Gormley Plumbing + Mechanical who was apologetic. She said that they had some "internal investigations to do". She told me that they were the only plumber in town to provide 24-hour emergency phone service which may be true but when my friend phoned them in a panic as their water heater had gone down Gormley Plumbing said that they couldn't even look at the job for 5 weeks he told me. The owner explained to me that they hadn't done any work for me which is true, and you may have had good experiences in the past of work being done. But that missed the point I felt that they had been deceptive at worst and incompetent at best. Why am I telling you this story? After much thought, I concluded that my many friends or followers in this community should be warned to be careful when dealing with this plumbing firm even if they were well known and had a long history just like we would tell each other to be careful if there was someone prowling the neighborhood suspiciously. I hope some good will come from this experience because it isn't about me it is about the community's well-being. read more

When I replaced my natural gas water heater I noticed that the two flexible inlet and outlet water hoses for hot and cold was barely leaking and ugly looking, I mean uglier than a overly used prostitute on a Friday night, so yeah after seeing that fright I called Gormley Plumbing said they can work on it the same day, took less than a hour, after parts and labor it was less than $300 four stars cuz I think that's a lot for less than an hour of work but I must say he did a fantastic, clean, well looking job it almost didn't even hurt paying that much. I would of done it myself but the old ones was soldered on and I don't know much about that. I chose them because of price and same day fix. Almost half the price of MR Rooted they wanted $500! Yeah right. The work was done Late summer 2019. I would recommend and use again. read more

From our tankless water heater (Sean) to overall residential maintenance (Bobby) they are the best.

Hired Gormley to replace the old water heater and change out the shut off valve for the water coming into the house. While the work was performed okay. The billable hours are unacceptable. I expect to pay for travel time and time on the job. They billed for the time it took the plumber to inventory his van at the beginning of the day, and to clean up his van at the end of the day. So what should have been 6.5 hours of labor was billed at 8 hours. When I complained about the labor charge they offered me a 20 minute credit on the next job. When I complained about the lack of water pressure after the plumber left the house. Their response was, "we have no idea." I have used Gormley before, but can no longer recommend them as a honest company. read more

UPDATE: I sent this review (below) directly to the company. I was promptly contacted by the owner. After a couple of emails he agreed to refund my service charge. I my mind they handled this in a very prompt and professional manner. Your company installed new hose connections at my house last June. Recently one of them started leaking badly. Your service man cane out and fixed it with a simple adjustment. I was told it was not under warranty and was forced to pay $125. It has been less than a year and your company does not stand by their work. That is bad business and I would like a the very least a discounted service bill to fix the work that was just done last June. read more

Water supply pipe cracked to home. Being one of the largest plumbing company's in McMinnville, I call them. Have no water to home and said they could come out for an emergency call for $250 an hour or if we wanted a regular call out they couldn't make it till June 30th. Pretty sad service for a home with zero water. Will never call them again. Customer service is dead and it's all about the almighty dollar! read more

Had a leak near our water shutoff, which MWL let us know about. I needed it to be addressed quickly as it affected all the water to the house. I called Gormley and was able to get a technician over within an hour or so. Took 1-1.25 hours to fix. I had to go at overtime rates due to how late in the day it was but it was money well spent and I haven't had issues since. Very thankful for Gormley! read more

Great service. David was friendly, and worked his butt off to make sure our toilet and sink were installed to perfection.

They came to work on some plumbing we needed completed on an addition that was done. First tech they sent while friendly didn't bother to notice that we are a shoes free house (there is a small sign at the door and plenty of shoes scattered outside as an indicator). Instead he walked in and out of the house multiple times tracking mud and debris over the hardwood floors and even walked across my Persian rug which if anyone's had one cleaned before knows it's not exactly cheap to do. He even bad mouthed his co-workers and was upset that someone wasn't available to bring him a part/tool that he didn't have. The second tech was much more contentious and put booties on over his shoes but then still walked in and out with the booties on so while I appreciate the effort muddy booties do the same thing as muddy shoes. read more

Called for an appointment they were able to get me in the same week. The technician arrived during the scheduled time and was fast and got the 2 jobs done that was needed in a short time. He was able to repair the faucet that was dripping than having to replace which would have cost more. He was also able to fix the water lines and valve in the kitchen. The best part he was wonderful about my inquisitive kitten that was trying to help. Highly recommended this company. read more

Called this morning because of a leaky and old kitchen faucet. They had someone here the same day. The faucet was replaced within an hour. I was hesitant to pay 120/hr but it was worth it. We scheduled a service call asking to talk to a plumber about installing a new toilet in a public restroom. Once the tech arrived he did not discuss his plans or attempt to contact the managers before completing his work. Instead of installing a new toilet, he replaced the old one! Understanding that there could have been a miscommunication, I called to discuss the problem and was rudely told I got what I asked for and the man on the phone gave no apology or concern for the mistake. I would not recommend based on customer service or integrity! The work however looked decent! But nothing 30 customer service oriented plumbers couldn't accomplish. read more

They put you in direct contact with the people who are doing the service on your house so there is great communication. I have a busy work schedule and am not always available to be there but I leave a key and the work gets done. Absolutely absurd prices, charged me 1,600 for labor install of hot water heater I purchased from a lower price online source, bought 2nd new hot water heater and asked for free quote to install and they agreed and price was absurd so I said lets do it by the 115 a hour they charge and they than tried to add 5 hours for doing the quote, never again will I waste my time and money with these people! read more

I called Gormley Plumbing to fix an outside leak that was causing standing water around the back flow device. My call was taken promptly by a very courteous man who said their schedule was full for the day, but if something came up I would be at the top of the list. An hour later he called back to say that someone would be out in a couple of hours. The service man showed up and diagnosed the problem promptly after removing about three feet of mud. He fixed the problem within a few hours and hosed down the muddy surrounding area leaving it cleaner than he found it. Had a hot water pipe break underneath the house, Gormley came out the next day to repair the pipe. While courteous and professional they neglected to remove enough pipe to get the entire section with pinhole leaks. When the water remediation company came to dry everything out the next day they found a leak mere inches away from where they cut the pipe for the first repair. Needless to say Gormley assumes it's a new leak and charged me again for their time because there's no way on god's green Earth they missed it the first time around. At Gormley the customer is always wrong on first complaint and on the second complaint they'll feign concern but still not budge on the position that their people are infallible. So now two calls in to their office and I get "it happens", well guess what so do complaints to the contractors board and small claims court to recoup my time and money. I'll get my $150 back from them either in a refund or in the time they now have to spend dealing with me. They've lost my business and I'll be sure to share my displeasure with everyone I know every chance I get and I've got a big mouth! read more

Gormley charged me about $400 to repair a leaky kitchen faucet in a rental unit of mine. About 2 hours after they left, my tenant called and said the faucet was still leaking. I spoke to Gormley the next day and they said they wouldn't go fix their job unless I paid them an additional service fee. What's worse is that when I saw the job, they had used a short pipe on one side and the faucet was crooked!! I had to hire another plumber to finish their work. I don't mind paying top dollar for top quality service, but this ended up being just the opposite...and with an attitude. read more

I am a renter and a couple months ago I started having hot water issues and landlord had called a company who just came a lit pilot light and left. Finally I called NW NAtural gas who confirmed issue with hot water heater. Gormley's was called and even though they do not work on Saturdays sent someone over who also confirmed issue and started job.
