I walked in the door at 11:03 and the owner canceled my appointment and said its because I didn't answer the phone he thought that I was not going to come. then when I questioned his decision, he got upset and told me we could leave. They don't respect your money or your time I've heard before in the past that they canceled appointments very short notice, but I never thought that it would happen to me now I see that that is a place that does not respect your time or money so I won't be going back. Their service is good and the environment is clean but I was a little disappointed on the nails. I got my nails done with a brand new acrylic set on a Friday and noticed that Wednesday one of the nails were lifting, I thought no biggie I must have just lifted something to heavy or bumped my nail. A day or two later I noticed two of my other nails started lifting and one popped off already so easily and so I decided to give them a call and make an appointment so they can fix it. It was a week already so I called to be sure I can go in and they can fix it but when I come in they said I had to pay again and just wanted to give me 20% off. Seems like no biggie but it was just ab 10 days and they wanted me to still pay after I just payed for a brand new full set. This used to be a nice mom & pop shop. The mom and sisters/ daughters all still work there. After the remodeling their service changed. Quality has gone down (chipping cheap material), they talk about their clients and will send you off if you dont like the work, or if you complain ab it being too bulky. Each customer is looked at like a $ sign. No attention to detail, no genuine human interaction.Many people who have gone here for decades have switched to other nail salons. I usually don't like leaving bad reviews, and I've had good experiences here at this salon. Although for some reason, today was really bad. I had acrylic nails on before I asked the Nail Salon lady that I wanted a natural manicure. I thought she would be using acetone to get rid of my acrylic nails, but she instead used a fake nail. She told me to tell her whenever it would hurt and started digging under my nails and ripping the acrylic from my nails. My natural nails looked all brittle and short even though I wanted to keep the size of my natural nail. Her manager or co-worker saw that I was in pain and started gossiping with the Nail Salon lady about what was happening. She didn't even file them and they all look different. One nail is longer than the other, one nail is fully cut down. She asked to charge me in the middle of ny pedicure and then proceeded to apply another clear top coat before escorting me off. I asked her if she would be filing my nails but she kept on refusing saying she already filed my nails. After escorting me off, she proceeded to complain to the person at the cash register about me. The pedicure lady was amazing, and gave me a great experience but I cannot say the same thing for my manicure. My review might be ignored, but please do not let this happen again. The place is a nice newer looking salon. They were very busy (a Friday afternoon). I made an appointment at 6:15 but they didn't see me or recognize I was there until 6:30 ish (I have no problem waiting) I had a acrylic fill done and it came out nice. However when I went up to pay I was charged $70..... for a FILL. I did get some design but even my regular nail salon would have charged me $50 at the most. Not sure what their prices are since they don't have it anywhere in the salon and I wasn't told there would be an up charge for my design. Safe to say I will not be returning here. read more

Overdue review. I came here about a month after they opened wanting to try a new salon before I left for vacation. The fact that it's more convenient than my go to in Elmhurst was a plus. I had high hopes since it's brand new and the one review I read on Yelp was very positive. Needless to say, my experience was very different. Walking in I was greeted right away, and was impressed with the look and feel of the salon. Interior is nicely decorated and I liked that they use liners in the pedicure bowls. Jennifer did both my pedicure and nails. Starting with the pedicure they offer various treatments including paraffin wax which I was happy to see. Contrary to the review I read, the workers do speak Vietnamese and little English. I don't have a problem with this as I know it is common, but I did have difficulty understanding her. Onto my pedicure - I was super disappointed, in fact I considered asking for another Tech while in the chair. It felt like Jennifer was inexperienced. The touch of her hands on my feet was incredibly light. Much too light. The way she handled them from cleaning to scrubbing & exfoliating? Almost nonexistent and the absolute worst part was the massage if I can even call it that. No pressure whatsoever. It was the lamest 'massage' I've ever had. The only good thing about my pedicure was the paraffin treatment. Nails are next and I'm completely apprehensive about the outcome based on the pedicure I just had. I asked for someone else but was told they were busy so I was back with Jennifer. She was much better with my nails compared to my pedicure. She is also much slower than what I'm used to. I get that everyone works at a different pace but from the time I entered the salon to the time I left it had been over 2 hours which felt like an eternity. Not even a few days into my vacation, the polish on my toes started to chip. I never use no chip on my toes and have never had this happen at my other salon. This makes me question the quality of their polish. No chip was used on my nails and they held up fine. The prices here are not any less than what I'm used to paying. In fact given the shoddy work on my pedicure, you could say I actually paid more than I should have. Paraffin is always extra so no surprise there. If you're familiar with this area, you know there are nail salons lined up & down Lake St. practically next to each other. Why the Village allows this is beyond me, but I digress. When it comes to my nails/pedicures I am super picky. I haven't returned back since and will stick with my salon in Elmhurst where I've never had an issue with chipping or pedicures. read more

So my appointment was for 5 and I arrived at 4:45. All of the chairs were in front of this cold assed window in 10 degree Chicago weather. They didn't even call me until almost 45 minutes later. My tech was named Zill. I had a very simple "design". It wasn't even a design at all, it was 3 no chip colors, two cats eyes with rose gold tape on the tips. Zill applied the cats eyes and kept applying the clear coat. I asked him over and over if he was going to use the magnet and he said yes, over and over. He put the tape on the tips and I asked him, again, if he was going to use the magnet, and again, he said yes. I also asked him if the tape was going to last the 2 weeks in between manicures and he said yes. I thought it was a little odd that he was putting the tape on BEFORE the magnet, but I figured he was the tech and I wasn't. Next thing I knew, he was putting lotion on my hands saying "All done!" Needless to say, I was pretty upset because I kept ASKING HIM OVER AND OVER if he was going to use the darn magnet and he kept saying OVER AND OVER yes. They offered to redo the cats eyes nails, but by then I was pretty ticked off. I had been there nearly 2 hours, I was tired, cold and hungry and wanted to get home. I live an hour away from the salon. By the time I got home, the tape on 3 of the nails was already starting to peel off. So I called them, I explained everything that happened with Zill and told them that I wanted a refund. I got the whole "no refunds" song and dance. I paid almost $50 for this manicure and it looks like it was done by a 5 year old. I will NEVER go back here again. read more

UPDATE: *** 4/18 My original appointment was 4/14 and today is 4/18. My no chip matte nails are beginning to chip and there are spots/edges that are no longer matte. I have been to other salons and my matte nails remain intact for 2-3 weeks. Yesterday I noticed some edges were losing the matte effect, but today I they have become larger and more visible. For that reason I give this place a 2/5. Came in today with two friends we made appointments. They were more than willing to accommodate for three of us at 1230p. I do have to say that they don't have a large enough selection on no chip & dip colors. But they do have some nice colors available. In addition, when I asked if they had nail striping tape they said they didn't. Womp. Fairly priced though. I got a acrylic fill in with no chip and rhinestones for $40 + tip. Tech was Mia and she knew what she was doing and was quick about it too. I recommend Mia to anyone who is looking for a new tech. read more

During the pedicure they rubbed oranges on my legs which was really bizarre and left me walking out of there very sticky feeling dirty. I get my nails done every two weeks and get the same color (funny bunny-OPI) 95% of the time. Unfortunately I had to go to this salon this week due to being out of my usually area. The techs said they could use the color but she was not good at it. Well.....she was absolutely right. My nails turned out extremely crooked and uneven and a second tech had to take over and try to salvage them. Due to this I had to sit there twice as longThey ended up filing them down to the point where my fingers were sore the next day. A few days later when I looked at my bank account I saw that they charged me for more than I signed for on my receipt. Turns out they chose to add a tip for themselves after I had already signed and left. THAT IS EXTREMELY ILLEGAL. I went back and they said couldn't look at the receipt because "it was at home" All I have to say is go to ANY other nail salon. My manicure looks amazing and the lady did a really good job cutting my cuticles and shaping my nails. The only reason I gave them 4 stars and not 5 is because the lady who did my nails was rushing so much to get them done since they were closing soon. (She has a autoimmune disease) CALLED OTHER employees over to look and laughed. The costumer service is awful you come for your appointment on time and will still wait over 15 minutes or MORE. The new owners do not care they got rid of the system that allows rewards and have made costumers lose money from that. Their colors do not match. They are unsanitary and reuse bags for the pedicures and tools without sanitizing. If you wanna feel like you're a joke of get made fun of go to gossip nails. On the final note they charge you 5+ plus for a design or French tips. Which means additionally you will pay over 100$ for toe nails and finger nails if you choose to get a design. They do not tell you until the end either, I got a french manicure and pedicure done and they charged me 160$. The place has gone to hell. I made a last-minute appointment during homecoming season- they were able to get me in even 10 mins before my appointment! I got a no-chip manicure and regular pedicure. Kelly was very patient with my feet that flinched every time she scrubbed them in a certain area (didn't know I was this ticklish until this moment). I showed her an inspiration picture of the nails I wanted and she was able to do something similar- my nails were too short for my desired design. I noticed a few hours after my appointment that my cuticles started hurting- maybe it was because I haven't gotten my nails done in a while, or maybe it was a rough cuticle treatment. For my no-chip mani and regular pedi, it was $75. I think that may be a bit of a steep price but I am pleased with my experience. The nail artist cut my nails too short to the point where they hurt and also cut off too much of the cuticles around my toes, irritating the skin. He then proceeded to paint the black polish outside of my toenails. I was very disappointed with this whole experience. Gossip nails is definitely a hit or miss. I believe my technician's name was Tom and he was very welcoming and any issue I had he was open to anything I had to say and tried his best to make sure I was happy with my nails. I really appreciated that. Only thing I was upset about was they didn't have holographic powder I just hope they expand with having more up to date powders and glitters with options for more designs. we made an appointment for 3 pedis and only 2 of us got serviced for the first 25 minutes. the water was cold by the time the 3rd started. the lady doing my toes was literally digging into my toe so bad it was bleeding, heavily. she was saying I had 3 ingrown toe nails but what she was ripping at was skin. my toe nails were so short by the end of the appointment she had nothing to even paint! the no chip polish actually BURNED me because of the cuts she left. My first trip here was great! Samuel was very friendly. I for a dip ombré and it was beautiful. Unfortunately, about a week in, 2 nails cracked. I went back to get a new dip all together. I showed the nail tech the specific shape that I wanted and he said he would match it. The picture I showed him and what I got is attached. The tech didn't measure my nails so they are all different lengths and a couple were filed crooked. The dip is also lumpy. I don't think I will be going back. Super sad read more
