We were completely in love with the Hot and Sour soup but I got a quart of it to go with dinner 3/15 and it was horrible. Mushy cabbage and really no flavor to speak of at all. I called the next day to ask if they changed the recipe and was told that they had a new cook so I guess he has his own idea of how to make it but we won't be back for it or anything else since he probably will make other items differently as well. read more

New owner ,service was terribly sloppy had to ask for a glass with ice for the soda because did not provided with the drink , nor silverware with the food . The portion shrunken to half the size , pho soup flavor was one ( chicken or beef same tasteless) hot sauce soy sauce was out of reach had to ask for and by the time arrived I was finished eating. We recently relocated from New York to West Palm Beach. We are very familiar with the restaurants here. This is a " hole in the wall" and the food tastes like it. First, VERY overpriced for a store front off of Okeechobee. It's tiny and dark, not a good place for dining in. We had planned on taking out for dinner till we saw the prices!! Absolutely ridiculous for a take out place. So, soup and spring rolls. Egg drop soup with something that we just couldn't possibly describe. It looks like broken pieces of wonton and some brown thing floating in the soup. The broth tasted like Lipton soup mix, very salty. My husband threw it out. AND...no condiments! He went back in and asked for soy sauce, mustard and duck sauce. Don't bother. Spring rolls? In the trash. read more

First time for take out.....and last time! Hot and sour soup was mildly flavorful, minimum vegetables and heat. General Tso chicken was not edible. Chicken tasted sour and broccoli was limp and flavorless. Threw the entire thing in the trash. Pad tai with chicken required a hunting expedition to find the chicken. Food was better than expected, fresh, served hot, flavorful, seasoned well, and great quality!! I went in for pick up and the few minutes I was there, the Staff was more than welcoming and friendly! I ordered the chicken and broccoli and the shrimp fried rice: dinner combo. I will definitely return for another visit! The menu is very extensive and prices were great!! Food was okay. While they have tables it really is a take out place. When you first arrive you sit down thinking someone will come over to the table to take your order. After about 10 minutes of waiting you realize there is no wait staff. You have to go to the counter and wait for the cook to come out and take your order. In the meantime several other customers come in and place take out orders. The he goes back into the kitchen to prepare the foods. When the food is finally ready you need to go back to the counter and get the food as well as utensils and napkins. There is a fridge for drinks. After you eat you have to return back to the counter to pay and there is a tip section on the bill. read more

This is the best Chinese food in South Florida. Full stop. End of paragraph. I have been actively looking for good Chinese food in the area for almost a decade. I've tried many, many places all over Dade, Broward, & Palm Beach counties. This is the first time I've found truly good Chinese food. I have had quite a bit of bad Chinese & not that bad for South Florida Chinese, but this place is actually *GOOD* Chinese food. The general tso chicken is excellently prepared & they allow you to choose your spiciness on a 1-5 scale. I went with a 4 and it was plenty spicy. Their boneless spare ribs were quite tasty as well. The pork fried rice is spot on & the egg rolls are really fantastic. The only downside (for me at least) is that it's damn near an hour away from my house. That said, you really can't put a price on good Chinese food. Especially around here. Big thumbs up! read more

UPDATE!!!! UPDATE!!!! What a garbage this place has become. I stopped visiting since my last update in my review. My son wanted so bad some noodles and I decided to give another try. What a mistake. I couldn't belive how awful the food I ordered looked like. It's like the worst ingredients they could find, made it to the meal I ordered. I'm so disappointed of myself for spending a goog chunk of money for a food that looked like a leftovers from three days ago. This place should be close in hopes for another more decent management that can make this place great again. Today I just found out that a new ownership is currently in charge, and unfortunately these "new owners" are ruining what this Restaurant used to be. Got Rice was praise by a lot of people and now that same people are turning their backs not because the are rude or abandoning this restaurant, but because everything is going downhill and all because of the new ownership greedy plan of overpricing the low quality food they serve. This is really saddening because this place was so great but the new ownership just decided to punch all the loyal consumers in the stomach. I personally wont be coming back. read more

The choice of having 93 carved out of pineapple!!! - priceless - the entire experience was above and beyond my expectation. Delivery called me to confirm his arrangement was left with concierge ( who were in on the gig ) shout out to the guys that snapped this picture xoxo - My family and friends witnessed a shared digital experience. I spoke to my dad later that evening and he told how delicious the fruit was and the cupcake threw his diet out the window. I'd say it was a success. This is our second time here and we can back because this place has some good food. The first time I forgot to review them :) This place is off Okeechobee, tucked away in the middle of a lot of other shops and stores. Tiny little place and can be hard to find but the food here is really good. The steamed dumplings is a must try and so it the roast pork roll. The entrees are really yumm; the spice levels are bearable and good and friendly service. The prices are reasonable - my wife and I ate stomach full and the bill was hardly anything. We will be surely going back. I wish they had something for dessert. read more

My coworkers and I have ordered from GR on a couple different occasions. The food is very good and what I like to call "clean tasting," compared to a lot of other Asian food places. I've had this place a few times when I have that craving for Chinese food. It is pretty good and does the job. You get a decent amount of food for the price. They do charge extra for an egg roll vs. a spring roll when you get the dinner specials. The actual restaurant is clean just don't have many tables so we usually just do takeout. read more

Unfortunately, the reviews I have read has disappointed me simply because the food wasn't that appealing and wasn't tasty. For two lunch specials the total was already $38 along with a side of crab Ragoon that wasn't filled and tiny eggrolls. I rarely ever go to a new Chinese spot, but I do recommend going to WAH HOUSE . First of all, don't be fooled by all the high ratings. Those ratings were from BEFORE the original owners sold the business to the current people running the show. We have been customers of Got Rice? for almost 8 years now and it honestly saddens me to have to give this place anything less than 5 stars much less a 1 star but here is the recollection of our last visit there. We went last Friday late afternoon/early evening about 5pm. We were arriving from a road trip out of town when we phoned in our usual order. Mongolian chicken + shrimp and scallops, level 3 spicy (i like heat but also like to taste my food and i always got it this way) with a side of house fried rice. My wife ordered her usual of General T'Sao's chicken w/ white rice also at level 3 spicy. And for my mother we ordered Sesame Chicken w/ house fried rice no spice at all, rounding it out with 3 orders of pork steamed dumplings because they have always been delicious, and a side order of house lo mein (2 star spice) to try. Here's where things took a turn. Usually on a Friday evening, the inside AND outside are packed full of people. There was one table occupied inside...thats it. Firstly it seems they increased their prices, but with inflation we understood. When we got home with our food and proceeded to open everything up, we noticed the serving sizes were significantly less than before. As we all dig into our meals we noticed something seemed off. The house lo mein had no flavor, and for 2 star spice level felt like level 4 or 5 spice. It also was disgustingly oily. The sesame chicken seemed bland and lacking sauce yet was overly mushy, not crispy at all. It also barely had any sesame seeds on it. The house fried rice was dull and flavorless. The General T'sao chicken was sickeningly sweet BUT insanely spicy....WAY more than 3 stars. And finally to my dish...the mongolian. The chicken was rubbery and flavorless, they apparently were out of shrimp so they subbed in extra scallops BUT the scallops were tiny and you could tell they were frozen and not fresh. Fresh scallops are tender little seafood marshmallows that melt in your mouth. These scallops were rubbery, shredding apart, and don't get me started on the disgusting overly fishy taste they had. Mongolian should have a lot of green onion and scallions...there were NONE. I bit into one of the snap peas and there was literal DIRT inside it like it hadn't been properly washed prior t o cooking. And the spice....either they ignored my request of 3 star spice and gave me 5 star, or they are using new types of chilis that are much spicier than what was used before. The spice was so aggressive we couldn't finish our meals, and my wife & I were regretting our decisions with the spicy aftermath (you can put 2 + 2 together). Not good. Not enjoyable. Please save your money and don't go here. I wish we could start a petition or something to get the old owners back. They actually cared about their food (tiffany on numerous occasions said she bought the ingredients fresh every morning), cared about their customer base and knew all her regulars by name. These people don't care and just treat this as another fast food spot to serve up less than appealing food for a quick buck. And for my fellow foodies out there...please....PLEASE if ANY of you find another spot that serves amazing chinese food the way Got Rice? used to serve food, PLEASE reach out and let me know! read more
