We hired GYC for my daughter's wedding April 6, 2024. We rented the large white ranch tables. They were lovely. When delivered there was a level problem with one table. They left and returned with a perfect replacement. We also rented a water dispenser, coffee maker, chairs and wine glasses. Shelby was so nice and very knowledgeable about all their products, she helped us whenever we wanted to add or change to our order with no problem. The only thing you should know is you have to make an appointment to walk into their showroom. There are no walk ins. I thought this would be a problem, but I just called in and that worked for me. I'd give NO stars if possible, I used this company for my wedding. Originally I had planned for a small wedding about 40 people so I had ordered tables, linen, chairs, a dance floor, buffet tables, "Madeleine" sweetheart tables and cocktail tables, and a bar. The venue then changed and it turned into a wedding with 130 people. This venue included chairs and tables. So of course my wishlist/quote had to change. I had already signed a contract and places a deposit. I spoke with Mayra who ended up "updating" my wishlist/quote. I didn't need the tables the chairs and what not but was wanting other items I could use like umbrellas, tables - and since I had already put a deposit which was non refundable AND THE CONTRACT STATED I COULD CHANGE/CANCEL ANY ITEMS WITHOUT CHARGE. According to Vanessa (supervisor) "they don't normally do this but we're able to remove the chairs and tables" when bringing up the contract she said was all they could do. Also delivery was supposed to occur while I was onsite to "inspect" all peices but was done when I was not on scene, until the day after. There were items which looked nothing like the pictures "Madeleine" items! They were hunks of wood held together with exposed nuts and bolts and they weren't tight! So items that I chose weren't even used. My wedding coordinator who has rapport with this company didn't even want to use these items. read more

Finally after 3 weeks after our wedding day, after multiple attempts to get in contact with GYC even during our honeymoon.. we were finally able to receive "closure". We were charged an additional $1,000 for 15 linens/ unwashed plates & "molded linens" & 54 missing plates. We asked for proof that 15 linens & 54 small plain white dessert plates were $800 but unfortunately we were only given a questionable invoice that is very blurry and we're told "I do not have to send these to you. However, I am going out of my way to give you these Invoices" -Vanessa As far as the "molded linens" we were returned only 14, they claimed to have thrown one away & did reimburse us, however it did take a whole other week to reimburse $35. Might I remind how quick $1,000 were charged, I guess their software is faster on charges. In the end GYC is quick to respond when making your invoice however they do not give you an exact drop off time. They do not ask who is signing off all the inventory and they do not ensure you count items before leaving. Therefore, it is easy to claim any amount of items were "dropped off". Vanessa, the owner will claim she is very generous and donates to multiple charity's (unrelated information) and will deeply apologize for your horrible experience. So that's great, I guess. If you are able to spend $6k in renting from them, just buy your stuff and avoid "damage waivers" and broken contracts given by GYC, they will charge your card and claim they have no authority over it, weird. Anywho, just another review from our personal experience. I would not recommend this horrible experience to anyone else, and although they have "Thousands" of contracts, this review can atleast help 1 person not go through this emotional damage after their wedding day. read more

I work for a non-profit and tried to work with Got You Cover'd for a fundraising event we were planning and from the first phone call to them it was not a good experience. They were rude and condescending. They wouldn't work with us for pricing for non-profits and they up-charged for a delivery schedule that WE had to accommodate to fit THEIR schedule. When we tried to cancel the order a month in advance & tried to recoup our deposit they suddenly increased the price so it would use up the deposit & refused to refund a dime of the deposit. The service and actual rentals we received from Got You Cover'd were phenomenal! Everything from the basics (linens, silverware, and china) to our special requests (a giant tent for shade, and wine barrels for cocktail hour) was lovely. Also, the people we worked with throughout the process were so kind, helpful, and understanding. Kayla was very adaptable to the many changes we made to our order up to the week before our wedding. Also, we really messed up the timing on the day before the wedding, and the workers delivering and setting up the tent had to wait for an hour for us! I needed to rent some staging floor panels. I can understand why GYC insists that they have to deliver and set it up themselves. But the staging that I needed, which is just two 4'x 8' pieces did not cost enough for them to offer delivery. They are the only place in town that has what I need and they will not rent it to me. So I called and asked about another item I could use just to get the cost of my rentals up high enough for them to deliver the staging. I ask about a pipe and drape room divider and they said they had some and to come in and check them out. So I go back in and after waiting around for 15min, I was shown a beautiful pipe and drape that was set up in the show room. After waiting some more (everything I asked the receptionist, she had to go ask someone else) the receptionist told me that they could rent it to me. I was now going to rent the pipe and drape, pretty much just so I could get the staging I needed to be delivered. Well they call back a couple days later saying they could not rent me the pipe and drape because they (the uninformed receptionist who answers everyone's questions by asking someone else...) didn't realize this item couldn't be used outside... So we go back to square one. But after this has taken a couple weeks to get figured out and I looking for other options and find none, I call back. They said my "quote" was no longer valid and that since nothing was paid and we were now too close to the event day, they would not be able to help me at all. They had bigger fish to fry and realized my business was not worth their time. The receptionist litterally hung up on me the last time we talked. Don't worry GYC ... I'm sure someone else has "got me covered" for my wedding. Appreciate your lack of communication, attention to detail, and general carelessness with regards to the little people out there. read more

I went in a week and a half before my wedding, after my previous linen plans fell through. Melissa was super helpful, helped me process my order quickly, and ran through payment without it being drawn out or complicated. My bridesmaid went to pick up my order Thursday, the day before the wedding, and everything was organized and kept in nice bins. The colors were perfect and the table cloths were thick and sturdy. Super easy to set out, we had no noticeable wrinkles and my bridesmaids and I covered all our tables in about 10 minutes. The price was decent and comparable to other vendors, but honestly I didn't do a whole lot of shopping around due to the time restraint. I'm taking off some because my bridesmaid mentioned the rudeness of the person whom she picked the linens up from. I asked for them to be ready on Thursday, and was told that was no issue. When she went to pick them up, she said she was given attitude and told "You're lucky I even have them ready for you, you aren't supposed to pick them up until tomorrow. If they weren't ready, you'd have to come back later.' Overall, if they weren't ready it wouldn't have been a huge deal, but how it was handled was really unprofessional and tacky. If they are ready, why try and make us feel stupid for getting them? They were able to accommodate me on a tight time crunch and we're helpful and efficient, so I would recommend them on that level, but the attitude at the pick up was weird and I wouldn't recommend them for that reason. read more

My fiancé and I were trying to rent a tent heater. We called in and the receptionist informed us there was a tent heater. Excited we headed over to their showroom. We headed into the lobby and waited about 15 minutes without being helped. After waiting the same receptionist informed us that they have tent heaters but they can't rent them. Got You Cover'd took care of our chair needs for a (way more) reasonable price than many other vendors in town. Their "weekend" delivery charges are a little ridiculous as it's outside of "normal" business hours (I call BS on ANY party rental company that says weekends/ nights are outside of their business hours), but we got the chairs Friday and pickup Monday and they were perfect for what we needed. One complaint I do have is that they are EXTREMELY vague with dropoff/ pickup times and that I needed to engage with them in order to find out when we'd receive the chairs and when they'd be picked up. A four-hour window is a bit absurd, especially given that SLO isn't an unusually huge or trafficked area. Overall, fine experience. read more

My entire experience dealing with GTC was simple and easy. We got married in Cambria on Labor Day weekend and I planned everything from out of town. We rented basic white folding chairs, wine glasses, ivory table cloths, and the cool rustic wine barrel bar (highly recommend!!). I emailed in a request and their friendly staff replied back very quickly with a quote. I went back and forth on a few items and even added in cocktail table and cover a few days before and they made it happen no problem! The sales staff were quick to adjust my quote to reflect all changes and then called me a few weeks before the wedding to confirm everything and run the credit card for the deposit. Only complaint was the delivery fee was a bit steep and we tried to ask if we could pick up the items with our own trucks but they said the wine barrels were heavy and they required us to pay for their delivery. They have the best prices for this area and I appreciated how the website makes it easy to browse the different options. Since they don't store credit card numbers on file, you have to call back each time or fax/email in a document with you CC #. This credit card payment system seemed bit dated and it would benefit them to upgrade to a new pay online option in the future or sync with a Pay Pal account. A few years ago when I was local, I also worked with this company for a formal dinner fundraiser for the Central Coast Aquarium in Avila and they were great with that important large order! read more

Rented a dance floor for my daughters outdoor wedding. They were very specific that the ground had to be level in order to lay the flooring. We planned on leveling the area immediately when we arrived at the venue site, which included laying sand. I told Got You Cover'd we would be at the venue around 10am for set-up and would prep the area for the dance floor. The delivery van showed up before we arrived, and of course the site was not ready. When they called we are on our way and would be there in about a 1/2 hour. She said there was going to be a $75 late fee. Gees, okay so I agreed to pay. When we got there we started to prep the site, then we noticed that the Van drove off!! without telling anyone. We had no idea if they were going to come back or not. Non of the workers spoke English so communication was an issue. We finished preparing the ground and waited and waited and waited. My Son-in-law called someone who said they would be back at 3:30 to install the floor. They finally showed up at 5:30 in the middle of rehearsal. Some unkind words were spoken and the floor was put down with a lot of assistance of my family. The bill came and they charged me an additional $100 for overtime!! All in all the dance floor was great and made the wedding. But!! I would not rent from them again. Ever! Communication is poor. The staff has a rude attitude. It's like they want things to go wrong so they can charge you more. My advice... rent from someone else! read more

If I could give this company zero stars, I would. I had the worst experience using them as our wedding rentals vendor. I went in to the company in person to look at which items we wanted to rent and decided shortly after. We received confirmation for all our items. About a month before our wedding, they contacted us with the wrong date for the wedding. They also had an old (not updated) version of what items we wanted to rent. I went in person to deal with the issue and was treated in a rude manner. There were numerous other mistakes the week before our wedding. After our wedding, we emailed the company to get our deposit back since no items were broken during the wedding and we were told we wouldn't be getting the $400 back because we didn't mark a specific box when signing we received the items at the venue. We were never told we had to mark the box and our coordinator signed for the rentals. On our honeymoon we tried calling and emailing to work out the issue and were ignored. They also had some of our personalized drinking glasses but when we went in person to get them back, they only had one glass. read more
