The fact that when we arrived at our PAID time slot of our appointment we had to wait FOURTY minutes to be seen. You don't even go back with your pet to comfort or verify that they actually receive treatment. They went above and beyond for us. LOH and their volunteer foster families honored my request to visit Praise every other weekend and even allowed me to bathe him at their facility because he's so sensitive about being groomed since he is very tiny and has very sensitive skin. Those small acts of kindness made an enormous difference for my and Praise's well-being. When I finally reached a place of stability, I was able to bring Praise home -- bright-eyed, bushy-tailed, full of joy, and with lots of toys and kibble -- and together we moved into our new home to continue our healing journey. I can't wait to give back to LOH and volunteer my time to support others who are facing the same struggles I went through. They've welcomed both me and Praise to volunteer. LOH and their volunteer foster families are truly a lifeline for anyone who has an emotional support animal or beloved pet and needs a safe place for them while they rebuild their life. I met Danielle at the Phoenix farmers market one morning. She is so smart because she had some of…read moreher dogs there with "adopt me" bandanas. Boyfriend and I stumbled upon them and saw this pretty white mutt and both went "we like her!". Danielle and he team encouraged us to play with the dogs and get to know them. We have been wanting a dog but were apprehensive because we have two older cats. Danielle told us about the foster to adopt program she has where you can take the dog for a bit and see I'd they are a good fit. Our dogs name was Cupcake because that's what danielle and her team named her when they rescued her. Anyway we brought puppy home and she she fit right in. She was intrigued by the cats but not very aggressive. She was a good girl. Danielle said she was up to date on her shots and everything including being spayed. After a week we told Danielle that we wanted to keep the dog and that we renamed her Milly. We were in love and Danielle was extremely happy. This is how awesome Danielle and her team are: they actually didn't have room to rescue Milly, but because she was so sweet and Danielle knew she would make someone very happy, she took her in anyway. Danielle is so passionate about her work and she enjoys it so much. Please adopt! These animals just want to be loved and need a little TLC and patience. Considering that, plus they were both spayed and neutered, had their shots, and microchipped, the adoption fee is very reasonable. Also they did a home visit to make sure the dogs got along with our other dogs and cats. So much better than just bringing a dog home only to find out it hates cats or is not housetrained! You can tell how much they care about the dogs they have there!! They also wanted updates on him and how he was settling in and it was just all around an awesome experience and we absolutely LOVE our new dog!! He is such a sweetie pie and exactly how they described him. I got a like 8 page meticulous medical report on him and his health because he was part of a group of dogs they got from an overcrowded home and quite a few were sick when they got them. It was such a great experience and when we are ready to get another dog, we will absolutely be back! Couldn't recommend this rescue more!!!

We went to Petsmart in 2012 for cat food. Had no plan to come home with a dog. This small dog…read morerescue pulled small dogs from the kill shelter who were going to to be euthanized Monday, and take them to Petsmarts to find them a home. We knew no one knew much about the little fella. He melted our heart, and our daughter had fish, hermit crabs, birds, and cats, but never had a dog yet. He melted our hearts. When we picked him up he grabbed onto us. And didn't want to be put back down. Needless to say we came home with a pup and cat food. He needed some veterinary care. After a week he was doing great. He has gluten, soy, and dairy allergies just like us, so he was a perfect fit. We were perfect for him as well since our eyes were open to his needs and how to feed him. We have had him 13 years now. He is 14 and is still the same happy silly pup. I don't know how they obtain dogs these days, but we are thankful he is a part of our lives.
