The burgers are good, and cheap and the staff is incredible and kind. BUT, last I visited I ordered two burgers, one regular and one with no pickles. It took 40 MINUTES for two burgers and I was 3rd in line in the drive-thru. On top of the timing, they managed to not add pickles on the one burger, but the other one was the complete wrong burger, and they gave me a giant piece of the white part of lettuce so the burger was bitter. Very disappointing. I don't expect McDonalds level speed, but nearly an hour for the wrong order is another level of idiocy. read more

Well I had to try Gotcha after seeing all the beautiful, perfectly burger cheeseburger pix on Google Maps. Damn, did it deliver. Just look at my perfect burger - thick slices of tomato and onion with fresh green lettuce. All that stuff on top of the burger made this a very tasty burger. Fries were meh, bland and soft. This is for the Valley River Center location (yes... it is finally open)! Seems well staffed and they seem to have it together. I ordered two chili cheese dogs and a drink. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and even told me they would bring the food out to me if I did not hear them call (I am almost deaf!). Food came out, in a to go bag... since I forgot to specify I was eating there. Had plenty of napkins in the bag too (those dogs can be messy, right?) I sat back down and ate. Have heard lots of good things of this place so finally got to try it early afternoon on a Friday. Prices are pretty dang decent so no complaints on that, if you want a cheap greasy burger that's a step up from fast food this is your jam. Menu is super basic, though they probably get asked all the time what the Deuce Deuce is because... what? Is it a double double, therefore a quadruple patty burger? No.. its just a double patty cheese burger. Anyway, ordered that and regular cheeseburger, fries and onion rings and a soda. Never received a receipt so no way to know if they actually charged us for a soda the first time around, didn't give it to us and then charged us again (or for the first time) when we went back to get said soda. Anyway, onion rings and fries are just ok - cooked well but I think the oil was bad! Burgers were good, basic, messy and under cooked a bit for my liking. My son and I went there and enjoyed a burger and a chili bacon dog. We sat in our car to stay warm to eat it and we're told that we were in someone's parking spot halfway through our food, interrupting our meal, which was kind of a bummer the hotdog was five dollars and it was your regular size hotdog so I was pretty disappointed that the cheeseburger is my son got though looks really great. He said they tasted wonderful. It took us a full 15 minutes of waiting to get our food when we saw a car after a car after car after car drive out and order the food and drive out probably won't come back here again very inconvenient parking residence. Not impressed. I have seen long car lines for this place so I thought lets finally try it. It's in a high traffic location with excellent exposure. 1. When a drive-through has a speaker with a menu, you expect a greeting right? Nope. Not at Gotcha Burger. So after 2-3 minutes and a couple cars behind us with no greeting, we pulled forward. The guy at the window said "oh yeah, its' not working." Later on when waiting in the walk-up for a milkshake they didn't initially deliver, another customer said "oh yeah it's never worked." Whatever.... I don't' know...maybe a "out of order please pull forward" sign would be appropriate? 2. We ordered a large burger, cheese burger, hot dog, fries, and a strawberry milkshake. REVIEW: The burger and cheese burger: Nothing special at all. It's not bad. It's certainly not a gourmet burger and not a gourmet price. It's average. Average is not a bad thing, but it would have been nice to get some complimentary ketchup with the burger. Oh yes, I know that's my fault for not asking for ketchup. I would prefer In & Out (sort of the same menu concept except no combo offer) any day over these burgers. Based on the price I would also prefer Carl Juniors, WayBack, Little Big, or even Killer Burgers. 3. Hot Dog: Totally unimpressed and WAY over priced. Strawberry Milkshake: Again, for the $3.75 price I would have expected more. You decide below. So we got the to-go order. He told me to pull forward because the strawberry shake was going to take 10 minutes. So we decided to eat in the car while we wait for the shake. There was no ketchup, no salt, no mustard for the dog...all of this I forgot to ask for, unlike other places...even Burger King who asks if you want any dipping sauces...nothing. Sure, that's my fault. We did get the complimentary napkins. The 10 minutes turned into 15 minutes with cars going around us. We finished both burgers and my kid finished the hot dog. We were still waiting for the strawberry shake. Finally, I walked back to the walk-up window, and asked if they were still making my shake and the guy apologized and said "we just got our shake machine up and running." Then he gave me a vanilla shake when I had ordered a strawberry. Then waiting longer for the strawberry shake. Sorry Gotcha...it looks like you got plenty of customers, and even great reviews. We were craving burgers, and had been meaning to try Gotcha for a while. The burgers themselves are a little on the small side, but still pretty good. We also got a side of fries and onion rings. The fries were better, but I think the onion rings lost some crunch on the drive home. Lastly, we got a strawberry shake. It was simple and totally hit the spot. I've gotten food from Gotcha Burger a few times and it's always been good. People like to say that Gotcha is Eugene's version of In-N-Out and I think that's accurate. I only wish they had chocolate shakes, they only have strawberry and vanilla. I always get the deuce-deuce and either fries or onion rings. I feel like half the time they're out of onion rings and that's when I get the fries instead. The onion rings are good but can sometimes be a big soggy or oily, to the point where oil runs down your hand while eating them. The fries are good and well-salted. The burgers are also good. They're so juicy and have just the right amount of sauce so that it's not overwhelming and you get some with every bite. The people who work here are nice and work quickly to take your order. It takes a while to get the food sometimes, even when they aren't busy, but that's because it's made to order. It's definitely worth the wait. The parking lot is small and gets crowded easily during peak times. It can be a bit tough to get into the it because of how busy the intersection is, and the same goes for exiting. I haven't eaten there before so I'm not sure what the table situation is, but I know they have some arcade games you can play. If you're looking for a good and simple burger fix, or if you're craving In-N-Out and don't want to drive an hour, then wait in line for another hour, to go get it, Gotcha is a great alternative. read more

First time trying this place. It was very busy so we had high hopes. We got two double burgers and both of them came with all the wrong toppings. Been here a few times now, and overall really like it. Keep in mind this is not chain fast food, it is a small food truck, and they can't handle the huge orders as quickly as a big place. They also (as far as I can tell) aren't keeping food hanging around until someone orders it. You probably will wait a little bit, especially if they are busy. I haven't ever waited an exorbitant amount of time though. The burgers have always been tasty, and a good deal for a deuce deuce double burger. You're going to lay $10 for a burger, fries and drink here but anymore the big fast food chains are that or more, and the food is much better here. The grilled chicken is solid too. The chicken is a real piece of chicken, not a slimy patty. It's seasoned well, the sauce is good, and they put their grilled onion on it too. I used to love Burger Kings grilled chicken and was just complaining about how no fast food places offered a grilled chicken anymore. Gotcha is a step above, and for less cost than I remember fast food chicken sandwiches being. JUDGE MUCH?! I'm only giving a two because my bacon burger and my daughter's onion rings were actually good. However, no milkshakes to be had and my friends chili dogs were cold! Zero stars for customer service! The music was so loud the rude girl taking our order couldn't hear us! Myself, and my good friend (both home owners and tax paying folks: which shouldn't matter) were profiled due to my daughter being a homeless young lady. We were not allowed to sit inside to eat; left standing outside in the freezing cold weather! The place was dirty, there was no rhyme or reason for parking or clarity of where to drive up to order - but the judgy looks by the staff far outweighed everything else! Best burger in town. I recommend the deuce deuce to anyone who asks. It's like in and out, but better. Sometimes the onions could be a little more grilled, but it's understandable when they're always slammed. (And for good reason) I ask for extra sauce on mine btw. The deuce deuce is only 5.25 and the service is great. I'm always helped quickly and the orders always right. you can eat in these cool containers which have a sweet vibe, but it's not like a classic restaurant, more like a food cart. Food is good every time I come here, but I tried to come by today at 11:15 for lunch since they usually open at 11. Nobody was there in the truck and no note was there or anything. So now I'm not sure when you guys are actually open and it's making me not want to even consider it the drive all the way there to even check, 11:15 or 7 o'clock at night at this point just to possibly have to turn right back around towards home. tl;dr Gotcha is the best Burger in town. The only downside is the wait can be kinda long, but that is further testament to it's greatness. If you try it once it will be hard to go anywhere else. Let me explain. Every place in town you can get a good burger has 1/3 pound patties. I enjoy a big patty as much as the next guy, but it's often not done perfectly. it's too big or too greasy or it falls apart when you try to eat it. You CANNOT get a smash-burger anywhere in Eugene besides Gotcha (please correct me if i'm wrong). Gotcha has perfected the smash-burger, serves it with all the fixins you need, housemade sauce is great, and it's served on a perfectly toasted bun (always overlooked at other places). Price is outstanding. this cost as little (or less) than fast food, but the quality is worlds apart. Me and my Girlfriend come here and get FULL for less than $20 total. As mentioned before the only reason i ever choose NOT to go here is because sometimes there is a long line. there might be a few people waiting to order and a few people waiting for food. this can lead to a long wait time. but it is worth the wait! sometimes I'm just impatient. read more
