We took our new puppy Paisley here back in the day, for his first meet and greet at the Orton Park Festival. Some of the oldest, hugest, most beautiful shady trees in Madison live here. Lake Monona is a stone's throw away, visible from the park. Great restaurants and shopping on Willy St. is a stone's throw in the other direction. The park is surrounded by beautiful old Victorian homes, but without the usual pretension of such. The gazebo adds to the charm. The yearly Orton Park Festival is not to be missed, a celebration of all that is classically Madison. In summation, and sincerely, again, I love this park.

They did have regular concessions & they were selling a single tender for $6 + tax/fees. Also the other food portions//price were horrible. Not sure if that was also on the event end but definitely robbery. A few seating options also up to the event I guess. They had the stands near the concessions open otherwise maybe 10 black tables/chairs on the field in the direct sun. Again nice field for events/smaller concerts. Street parking or ramps nearby so that wasn't an issue.

The "Dogs Not Allowed" sign has long read "Dog Snot Allowed" and the consensus seems to be that leashed dogs are fine (and free-roaming dogs are probably not). The Annual Easter Egg Hunt, Halloween Parade, epic Trick or Treating (complete with impromptu performances by some enthused teens and their hipster parents) and a neighborhood picnic are a few of the get-togethers this close-knit community enjoys. If you're lucky enough to land a house in Sunset Village, especially one that backs up to Sunset Park, your backyard will suddenly double in size and your pool of friends might triple! Sunset Park is where my toddler made his first friends, his first sandcastles, and memories to last a lifetime. Sunset Village neighborhood and Sunset Park is a place I never knew existed (because it is so neatly tucked away) despite growing up in a nearby neighborhood. Day of, the owner doesn't flinch at my mistake. He quickly corrected where I dropped the ball and it didn't seem to interrupt his operation. The Sugar river is a blast. Smaller and more technical than the nearby Wisconsin River. PLUS! There's some killer breweries, tacos, cocktail bars, & a live music venue to welcome you back once you're off the river. 100% would recommend and will most certainly use Sugar River Outfitters again.

Even though Steve was on vacation he helped get us a fair price for moving the lift to our home in time for the weekend of fun for our family. Of course, without Dave running the office and the operations, none of this would have happened ...within a couple days, these guys picked up the lift, did some quick TLC on the lift. Then had the lift placed and ready to go in some iffy weather. All in time for the weekend. Corrie, whose name I may be spelling wrong (sorry!) was nice and quick to help me when I paid my bill. Overall, excellent service from the entire D.L. Anderson Company. My only question now is if they can turn up the heat on this cool weatehr were having!? : )

I was charged for a boat rental but was never provided the boat. I called Capital Boat Club and…read morerequested a boat rental reservation, I spoke to Paul and he would not take my reservation and directed me to their website where I placed a reservation for a boat in early June of 2022 for July 1, 2022. I arrived for my reservation one hour early for the reservation and was told I didn't provide a Wisconsin license and they could not rent the boat. I asked them to cancel the reservation and they refused and charged my credit card for the rental. It would have been very helpful if they required a Wisconsin license prior to accepting the rental. I would also add Paul was extremely rude and not certain how he feels justified to charge for a service that was never provided. If you are looking to rent a boat in Madison, you should pass on Capital Boat Club.
