From the street you can see 10 or so dogs unsupervised locked up in a room. I mentioned to the young lady at the desk that I have two small dogs that would not fair well being put in the room with the general public. I was then informed that there were private rooms. I said that might be an option and asked if I could see one. "Oh no, we don't let the public in there are pictures online." I asked her if she was serious and thought that I would just drop my dogs in a place site unseen and leave them. She responded with an attitude that people do it all the time. I asked her " assuming she had a pet" as a pet owner, would you just leave your dog in a place that you have only seen pictures of? Are you kidding? I can't understand how any responsible pet owner would drop their dog off in a place that they were not able to see with their own eyes. What a disappointing first encounter with River Pet Resort. In my mind, If you are a well run, properly staffed, legit and clean business you should want nothing more than to encourage potential clients to see your facility and show them around. Seems shady to me. Anyone who accepts the pictures on line as confirmation that they are leaving their pet in clean and safe environment should probably not be a pet owner. Would you leave your child in a facility that you have never seen before but was told there are pictures on line? I would hope not!

They make everything so easy for me -- they do both pick-up and drop-off (only $10 each way on weekdays and $30 on weekends!), which is huge when I'm working long or weird hours and can't get home in time. They also literally have everything I could ever need in one place: daycare, boarding, veterinary care, and grooming. Peach has boarded with them before and it went perfectly. And the grooming? They do it while she's already at daycare and then drop her off at home clean and fluffy, so I come home to a happy, tired, freshly groomed dog. It's the most convenient thing ever. The grooming prices are very reasonable and the quality of the grooming is the best she's had (and we've tried MANY groomers). They're incredibly responsive over text and email, which I appreciate when I'm at work and can't call. And one of my absolute favorite parts: the daily report card and photos of my dog every single day so I know exactly how she's doing. Plus they have a live webcam you can access from anywhere -- I check in on Peach from work all the time and it always makes my day. I truly can't recommend Strut Your Pup enough. They treat my dog like family and make my life as a busy dog mom so much easier.

I picked up my all white dog after grooming with a large greyish black streak down his side. When I…read moreasked the staff what this was they said they thought it was a birthmark and took him to the back to remove it. Several minutes later the groomer came out and said they couldn't get the stain off of him. She informed me they were doing construction in the back and he was laying on the floor under it. The conversation got worse and worse from there. She told me "it was likely something from the air conditioner and she didn't know what it was but it definitely wasn't dangerous." She then casually said if they couldn't get it off I wouldn't have to pay for the grooming.... as if he was a sweater that got stained at the dry cleaner. They ended up giving him two more baths and getting most of it off with Dawn dish soap... which is what they use to take oil spills off of sea creatures. My dog was unsupervised, laying in construction chemicals and came out from his grooming stained. After all of that, they still charged me and barely apologized. I was a regular customer for several years and this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Needless to say we have never been back.

I don't even know where to begin with our love for D is for Doggy! My dog Simon started here when…read morehe was about 4.5 months old. I was nervous at first, but after a short trial run, we were both completely hooked! Now, at a year old, Simon has practically grown up at D is for Doggy, visiting several times a week. One of the things I love most is being able to check in on him throughout the day, and seeing how happy and exhausted he is after a full day of play is priceless. But the absolute highlight is that Simon can't even walk by the place without begging to go inside! When I drop him off, he literally runs to each staff member, tail wagging, full of excitement and joy. It's such a relief knowing he's in excellent hands, having the best time, while I'm at work. His social skills with other dogs have grown tremendously, and I credit that to his time at D is for Doggy. We also get Simon groomed here by Prae, and she's just incredible! His last grooming was so relaxing for him, he actually fell asleep. Every haircut has been perfect, and you can tell how much love she puts into her work. We are beyond grateful for the care and affection Simon receives at D is for Doggy--it truly feels like a second home for him!

Their prices are unbeatable and Charlie and the team care so much about the dogs. He has given us tons of great advice for our pup and she comes home every day so happy! Sometimes I get videos of her and she looks like she is having the time of her life. The best part about Lucky Dog is that they have a great outdoor space, so the dogs get to be outside. Charlie is extremely responsive via text or email and it is easy to pay to your bill. Since we live in the building, we get a discount and they even pick up and drop off our dog every day. They were super nice and knew just how to keep my dogs calm, which isn't easy. My dogs are normally scared of other dogs, but maybe with my or friends dog and the nice workers, they were happy here!
