Shiloh is a German Shepherd she goes to well rounded hound 5 days a week from nine thirty to three thirty. She loves them she is standing at the door waiting. For the past three days she could not go as she was sick when Jackie and the crew heard on Monday that I was afraid as her back legs went out they were the first people I called for support as soon as day camp was finishing up they all came over on their way home to help me get her to the vet and the concern was love that they had for her. Today one of the crew who she had not seen in a while came over and she went crazy with love he had been with her since she was six months old. My love for these guys is unbelievable. My daughter lives in Boston she has a shiba and every time she comes to visit she goes to camp. My niece who lives in Washington has a dachshund comes to visit he goes too and they all cannot wait to go they remember. As time goes on we now have two new members my daughters and mine new puppies Australian shepherds my Australian Shepherd goes daily my daughters when she visits. When I go away they go to fancy pants hotel and love it. Bottom line if you want your dog to be happy, loved and taken care of the price is brilliant compared to hiring someone to walk them two times a day and not play your dog is losing out they pick them up and drop them off. I cannot recommend Riverdale Groomers enough, specifically their groomer Lolo, who did a phenomenal job with my dog, Henry! ‍ THE BACKGROUND: Henry is a 3-year-old Field English Cocker Spaniel with incredibly thick, curly hair . Henry is an active boy who spends a lot of time off-leash on the trails, which means he constantly collects dirt, burrs, and debris in his coat! Between our busy schedules and it being over a year since his last professional groom, his fur had truly gotten out of hand . He had significant matting, especially in tricky areas like his armpits and ears . Lolo definitely had a lot of work on their hands, but they handled it with an incredible amount of quality care and meticulous attention to detail . Henry also deals with some codependency and anxiety issues. While we've been to major chains like Petco and PetSmart in the past--and they did a fine job--nothing compares to the quality of work Lolo provided . Lolo took all of my disclaimers about Henry's temperament to heart and used genuine TLC to ensure he had the best experience possible . Because Henry has a solid black coat, he attracts a lot of heat , and the weight of the matted curls was really weighing him down . I told Lolo to go "to the leather" (a close shave), and they executed it perfectly while refining the mohawk I requested! What really blew me away was their availability! Most groomers in the area (and surrounding neighborhoods) are booked out for weeks, if not months. Riverdale Groomers was able to offer me a same-day appointment or a slot just three days later! This is a total lifesaver if you need grooming on short notice, whether you're about to travel or just want your pup looking fresh sooner rather than later . The communication is also top-tier . They send a text the moment your dog is ready for pickup, and they actually answer the phone when you call! No dealing with annoying AI robots or leaving voicemails that never get returned-ugh. I'm not sure if they are a family-run business, but they certainly act like one! They truly care about their furry clients and their humans alike . The price is also super affordable for this level of expertise! Just a heads-up for new clients: they are CASH ONLY, so make sure you have your cash ready for the service and a well-deserved tip! While I know that can be a minor inconvenience for some, knowing beforehand makes everything a breeze. Plus, it's totally understandable--credit card companies charge such high premiums, and by avoiding those fees, this amazing small business can keep their doors open and stay in the community longer! Their top groomer has over 30 years of experience, and it shows. They also offer pickup/drop-off and even insured cage-free boarding, which gives me so much peace of mind. It's a small, local business -- not a big corporation -- and you can feel the difference in how they treat both the animals and the clients. She decided to let us in, my husband felt offended with her attitude and we decided to leave right after we step in. Why spend money where you are clearly not value as a potential customer? Seriously what was her problem? Obviously anyone that comes to your store is to either purchase something or might have a question. So, why have a business open if you cannot be courteous to your neighbors? She than got upset and blurt something out, I told her plain and simple that she was being a racist, why do you have a business in the Bronx? I mean Kingsbridge is predominantly African Americans, Hispanics, Asians, Albanians and Greeks. So if you can't stand Spanish or whatever particular races you have issues with than you should rethink your location. They turned off all the machines and blow dryers so the room was quiet, and patiently sat on the ground with him to help calm him down. I can't thank you all enough. Will definitely be back!
