I was coming fresh from the hospital and still in pain so I needed a 2nd opinion. I searched extensively online and found a colleague of "Dr." -- I use the phrase doctor lightly in light of what occurred -- Ugonna Iroku. The doctor I wanted to see was not available for 2 and a 1/2 wks so they talked me into booking him. I called to say I would be 5 mins late and was right down the street and they said fine they had a 15 min grace period. When I arrived on 5th Avenue, it was 3:05pm. But they give you the wrong address claiming the office is at 535 5th Avenue when it is actually on 44th street. To make matters much worse, the operator on the phone claimed she didn't know where it was because they use call centers instead of on-site receptionists! So I spent an extra 12 mins walking up 5th Avenue trying to find the office! When I finally arrived at 3:17pm, they claimed I would have to rebook because it was already past the 15 min grace time even though this was their fault. I had passed right by the building at 3:04pm. So I would've been on time had THEY given me the proper entrance information. I ended up sobbing hysterically in the reception area because it was late on a Friday & I did not want to risk being in pain all weekend. No one cared and they did nothing to rectify the situation. When I asked if Iroku could see me for the last 10 mins before his next appointment they claimed he was already with another patient, which made no sense! How could that be if there is a 15-minute grace period? And no one walked in while I was waiting, except his 3:30pm patient, who would've been AFTER me. And what kind of doctor would leave a patient in pain & tears? What kind of good HUMAN BEING would do so? This was a truly awful experience and it is clear to me that these doctors are not spending enough time with their patients. 15 minutes is not enough time to thoroughly vet what is going on with patients, especially not new ones. I wish I had gone with my initial gut and kept researching other doctors instead of letting myself be talked into booking an appointment with this awful man. The only good thing is the cruelty shown to me by this awful place and this doctor means I likely dodged a bullet. Avoid the 535 5th Ave office which is actually on 44th St between Madison and 5th at all costs. Hopefully, the William St office is not as badly run. read more

I've had both an endoscopy and colonoscopy done this year and Dr. Glick has been extremely thorough, knowledgeable and easy to reach for any questions/concerns. The doctors here are fine here but no one told me that the anesthesiologist for my procedure was out of network. The anesthesiologist advised me to appeal their $4000+ bill. Since then I have been back and forth with all involved parties and I feel like I am doing most of the work. I did manage to talk to the Gotham's billing office but when I followed up they did not respond. They are great at communicating when they want you to come back for another procedure. I decided to switch to another practice to avoid these hassles and most likely I am going to end up paying this bill. If you are thinking of going here, proceed with caution and ask a lot of questions about who is in your network and who is not. read more

Dr. Foont is very personable and kind. You can tell she really cares about her patients and is an expert in GI disease. I feel very comfortable in her care. She has prescribed meds for me that have felt like miracles to help my symptoms and get me into remission for my ulcerative colitis. Her staff are very responsive. It's also great that the procedure suite and lab work is all done in the same building as her office. I was able to get my vaccines done and labs drawn immediately after my office visit. Highly recommend Dr. Foont. P.s. I went to see Dr. Weisburg again recently. I am 49 years old and colon cancer runs on both sides of my family. At age 50 it is a routine examination to have a colonoscopy. I won't be 50 until next year but had symptoms that would warrant further testing. My primary care doctor says it would not be safe for me to go under right now so Dr. Weisburg did a simple painless easy test requiring no preparation from me. He said the best test for colon cancer is the one you get. Meaning if you can't get a colonosopy which is the most effective test, you can have another kind of screening and it is better than no screening at all. He is a great listener and will answer all of your questions. He is kind and attentive and fully present with you, his attention is not divided. To confirm my previous review. As a fellow medical provider, I have to say that the visit with the associate doctor (whose name I shall not mentioned here, due to this is a less than positive review) was one of the best I have had, excellent bedside manner, very attention to detail. If I ever need a MEDICAL consult, I would follow up here. Now, why the less than five star review then ? you see, most of the GI problems require diagnostic tests that needs to be done at an outpatient facility. and this office contracts with Manhattan endoscopy center, which happens to have probably the WORSE billing department that I have encounter in my entire medical professional career... So, if you have a pre existing medical condition, and only needs MEDICAL consult (no diagnostic testing done ex: endoscopy, colonoscopy) I would recommend you this facility, as I find that the docs here have good bedside manner, and explains things very well. But, if you, like me, or other patients who have recent onset of new GI symptoms, and your doctor recommended a diagnostic test to be done, I would probably switch to a different group of doctors, because to be honest, any competent board certified physician can diagnose most GI issues, and to me, it is not worth the headache of dealing with the outpatient facility billing dept.... read more

Dr. Jennifer Bonheur will forever be one of the best doctors I have ever met in my life. I am a very needy patient (a year of tummy troubles and doctors will do that to you) and I felt like Dr. B actually cared and wanted to help me and not just give me medication. She was extremely professional, caring and thorough. She has excellent bedside manner and followed up with me after a procedure. I saw Dr. Weisberg in 2013, and he was wonderful. Unfortunately, because of his office staff and billing department, I will never go to this practice again. I recently received a collections notice from a collections agency for an unpaid bill. I had not received a bill for that 2013 visit (assumed insurance covered the cost) and was shocked to get a collections notice. I contacted Gotham several times, and left several messages. Nobody called me back. When I finally got through to someone, the gentleman I spoke with explained that the practice's billing department had been backed up and sent my bill to collections. He said they should not have done that and would leave them a message to contact the collections agency to recall that debt and for the billing department to send me a bill. I informed the collections agency of all of this, and they were actually very professional and understanding. I received a call today from the collections agency that they finally spoke with Gotham's billing department (they also had difficulty getting in touch with someone), and that individual at Gotham said NOBODY in their office ever said such a thing to me about collections being a mistake. I am absolutely appalled by this statement. Gotham essentially called me a liar. Wanting all this to be over and to avoid leaving more unanswered messages with Gotham, I paid the bill with the collections agency. I cannot believe the lack of professionalism and disrespect Gotham's staff has shown towards me. read more

This review is for Dr. Michael Glick. Given the fact that I'm a full blown hypochondriac that will drive any doctor INSANE I have to say that Dr. Glick is the most patient angel of a doctor I have ever met. Every time I see him he lets me vent, talk through my concerns and symptoms with absolutely no interruptions. He's so ridiculously intelligent to the point where I'm pretty sure as soon as I mention one symptom he already knows what I have, but he gives me the time I need to let it all out. He's absolutely wonderful during examinations and procedures. He won't make a single move before telling you what he's going to be doing so you're not surprised. Afterwards he'll let you ask anymore questions you may have. He really doesn't want you to leave unless you're completely comfortable with your situation. He's also wonderful about returning calls. I consistently tell him he must think I'm a mental case but he assures me every. single. time, "Of course not! This is my job. Don't even worry about it. What's going on?" I'm in my mid twenties experiencing things that apparently everyone experiences, but never talks about or are too embarrassed to get checked for. I was guilty of holding off for a month before I started seeing him and I'm glad I finally did. If you're young and freaking out over anything that has to do with his field trust me and just go do a consultation with him. Your health is important and I PROMISE he will make you feel 100% normal and comfortable. :) read more

Terrible experience! I have done my procedure on 01/26/21 and I still don't have my results. I send already a couple of emails, and I txt in pt portal, nobody answer me. Everybody just ignoring my letters and calls. I'm trying to call this office almost every 2 days now, and they put me on the hold forever. I spoke with some girls 3 times for 2 weeks and both of them said that they will send a task to medical records and I still waiting for it. I requested my medical records and I don't understand why should I waiting for so long to get them. Also dr. Veronica Dubrovskaya so mean. I'm not sure if she knows how to do her job well. She's super unprofessional. I have stomach pain, maybe because of some food and stress, so she said I need to go to sell some dresses in stores. It's terrible. I said I don't want to do that, I have a good job. So she said maybe I need to do some escort stuff to less my stress. WTF!!!! How you can recommend me something like that???? She's even doesn't know what kind of medications to prescribe me. I have never seen any doctor like she is before. I HIGHLY do not recommend you to go to this clinic!!! I have an only TERRIBLE experience with them!!!! Every my appointment this doctor was late for 10-15 min. And then she spoke to me about some psychology stuff (I didn't know that she's psychiatric too, interesting, do she have a license? ) for 10 min and that's it. And then they charge my insurance for what???? Even on the procedure, everything was terrible. They didn't say that I need to pee for the procedure to have done. I didn't drink any water before so they put me on a drip. I came at 11 am and I'm going home after 5 pm. They started to do my procedure after 1 pm. They didn't say anything clear about someone supposed to pick me up, and then it was too late for the person who came for the scheduled time and they waste all my day. So, can anyone help me????? Great office! After my initial Crohn's diagnosis I came here for a THIRD opinion after going to two other Gastroenterologists who I didn't have a great experience with and Dr. Glick and the office staff here are by far the best I've been to. Crohn's is a very complicated issue that every GI approaches differently, and Dr. Glick's approach makes the most logical sense from a patient's standpoint. I am so lucky that my GP referred me to him (not just any GI doctor-I had been to two different GI doctors, prior to this visit) & that I was able to get in to see him quickly. I have been battling C. Diff (for anyone familiar with this nasty intestinal infection) for a few years. This was my third time contracting it & Dr. Glick acted very quickly & helped resolve it as soon as he could. Now for a real review from an actual patient, and dedicated Yelper. GG is not my first GI office. However, they are one of the best I have experienced. The space is small. But the space is well-used, flows, and is very comfortable. The exam rooms are of good size. The space is clean. Each area is properly lit for its intended use. Reception was completely professional with me throughout my entire one-hour visit. Not only do they obtain your intake information when you call to request the appointment, but they actually REtain said information, opposed to offices where you find yourself mired in paperwork to give information which you'd already given. I was escorted back to my room after only two minutes of waiting. The nurse staff were very welcoming, friendly, and never made me feel as if I were being "sized up". Though I met with Dr. Weisberg, I was able to observe two other Drs. Foont and Schaffler. Both were professional and courteous to their patients and the staff. Actually, all of the staff were respectful to each other, and seemed to enjoy working together: a great sign for any office. I was referred to GG by my primary after the initial GI made enough errors to deem them unsuitable. So I was very cautious going into this appoint. However, Dr. Weisberg had me at ease within minutes. I have rarely been given such a kind, thorough, professional consultation from any physician. Dr. Weisberg brought me from the exam room and into his office to have a sit down, where he asked me to tell him everything, from the beginning of my issue, then asked questions about things he thought my help him diagnosis and treat the issue. Again, never once felt judged by him. And, for once, found a doctor trained in Western medicine who is open to homeopathic treatment, and knew about one of the supplements I was using! He gave me a thorough review of the charts, biopsy results, and probe pictures taken by my former GI, and made everything crystal clear, in Layman's terms. He also showed a good working knowledge of other related specialties. He gave me a thorough exam, the nurse who administered the Breath Test was very nice, and the reception staff made sure to wish me a good day as I left. Four starts for Gotham, but five for Dr. Eric Morgenstern. The facility is clean and the staff is polite; however, they are a bit scattered when it comes to scheduling procedures. They said they'd contact me in case of a cancellation so I could have a more timely appointment, but I had to hound them for a bit until they were able to squeeze me into the schedule. Dr. Morgenstern is an extremely capable physician, who does not make his patients feel rushed or otherwise insignificant. His bed-side manner is above par, and he made me feel at ease during a somewhat invasive procedure. Overall, I highly recommend both the facility and the doctor. read more

Dr. Glick is absolutely fantastic. I originally visited him to get a second opinion, and he gave me a different treatment option to my first doctor at different practice I've been going for a year. His treatment plan worked and I've been free from my sickness since then. I even referred my gf to him the last time she had stomach issue, and she's been treated very well. I just had cheap deli sushi for dinner last night and woke up with food poisoning...Called in to make an appointment, and although he wasn't available today, he gave me a call right away to give specific instructions on what to watch out for and what to do until I see him tomorrow morning. The office called me a few weeks later apologized for the mistake the nurse made and promised they will "take care of the bill", which I didn't expect. I accepted the apology thinking they do care about what patients think. However, I still got the bill for that breath test that they claimed to "take care of" and I have been trying to reach the person who made the promise for weeks now but I was unable to. First time, the front desk told me she left a message for the person to call me back...surprise I didn't get any calls from them; second time, the person was "in a conference call" and asked me to call back; third time, conveniently, he was still in a "meeting" and "will call me back". Not sure if I can ever reach the person, and not sure if he really meant to "take care of the bill" because their nurse made a mistake to waste my time and had me come in two times to do a simple 30min breath test. The bill is actually a small amount, but I don't like to be lied to and feeling like in order to confront the person who made promise, I had to call multiple times and not being able to reach him. Well, don't think they really care about what patient thinks. Again, I had no problem with Dr. Chua and I think she's a good doctor but because I feel like I was being lied to, I'm not comfortable going back anymore. read more

Hello friend, do you have a digestive system? Is it sad or malfunctioning? Let's have a (one-sided) conversation. First of all, never in this decade of intestinal horror and drama did I ever think I'd have a moment in which I'd feel compelled to rush onto yelp and put 5 stars next to a Gastroenterologist of any sort (including magical and/or unicorn), but here we are. I have never (ever ever ever) had a doctor sit down with me and review, at length, my entire medical history, and then (here's the shocking part) ACTUALLY EXPLAIN EVERYTHING TO ME. Dr. Julie Foont is the narwhal of doctors - you know they exist, somewhere, but you don't see them in real life (unless you are... an Inuit)(that didn't make sense). My first visit, she spent an hour talking to me before she examined me. And then she did some exhaustive tests, which, for the first time ever in my life, I understood the rationale behind. And then I got scoped and biopsied at Manhattan Endoscopy, which is a lovely place and another story for another day, but after that, she met with me in recovery to discuss what had happened while I was out cold - what she had seen and biopsied and photographed and what it all meant. And then she called me to discuss the results. And then she met with me, again, in person, for an hour, to discuss the results of all my tests and biopsies, and figure out the treatment plan that I was comfortable with. Here are the TL;DR points: 1. Dr. Julie Foont is a thorough doctor, but not in a "hey, let's pad your bill" way 2. She will actually listen to you and explain things very clearly 3. She will make you feel like you get to participate in your own health care decisions 4. OMFG for real The office seems pretty well run and efficient as well. They got me in, as a new patient, the next day because they grasped the severity of the situation. I mean, and THEY explain things clearly, too, it's not just the doctors - I've had a medical assistant explain a blood draw to me and a receptionist explain the finer points of a colonoscopy prep, so these people not only know their shit, but will help you know YOUR shit. Haha, literally! Jokes. More than all that, they are nice. If you've been to a doctor's office when you're sick and the staff is douchey, you know the value of a nice staff. So, they win there. Drop whatever you are doing (unless you're holding in your broken intestines) and let these people fix your guts. read more

I am absolutely thrilled to leave this 5-star review for Dr. Michael Glick and his practice at Gotham Medical Assoc. Several months back, I traveled to the Dominican Republic and unfortunately felt stomach sick for a long time after I returned. After reading about parasites, I started to get worried and decided it was time to see a stomach doctor. I originally tried another gastro practice in the Financial District (not Dr. Glick). This doctor listened to my symptoms, and immediately suggested a colonoscopy - after meeting me only once! Not to mention he also took a personal phone call 3 times during our short discussion. I was extremely discouraged and decided I needed to find a doctor who would truly listen to my concerns and not diagnose me after one visit... ENTER Dr. Glick & Gotham Medical - I found his practice online through my Insurance website (I have GHI) and I am so happy with how things went! I visited Dr. Glick's new downtown location on William Street which was very convenient to my job. I was able to secure an appointment within 1 week and his office staff was polite and accommodating. Their office (which is brand new) is absolutely serene, almost spa-like. There's a huge TV in the waiting area with comfortable chairs and a beautiful display of real white orchids (love!) I was called into my appointment after only a few minutes of waiting and was taken to the back office by Dr. Glick himself. I immediately felt at ease. How many doctors come out to meet their patients anymore? Dr. Glick's bedside manner is second to none - he is funny, warm, knowledgeable and patient. He listened about my trip to DR and carefully asked me related questions to try and figure out what was going on with my stomach. He looked at some pictures I showed him without hesitation and made me feel comfortable sharing my fears. Instead of rushing into a surgery, he suggested we take a sample and a blood test to start and see how the results look before moving forward. He was straight forward in his approach, but still really took the time to listen to me. He gave me his card before I left and encouraged me to call him at anytime. A week after my results came in, Dr. Glick called me himself to discuss them and additional follow-up. I can not boast enough about how amazing Dr. Glick and his practice are. He is smart, approachable and always makes himself available. The service I received from both him and his office staff was OUTSTANDING and truly worthy of 5 stars. Dr. Julie Foont is a singular doctor and I'd recommend her practice without exception. I had some chronic problems after coming back from a trip a few months ago and finally went to see a GI after my internist couldn't figure out what was wrong. Dr. Foont asked me for a detailed account of every single thing that happened since the trip. She took notes and had me tested for a variety of things that were likely or unlikely but covered all bases. She has a great sense of humor and makes you feel comfortable to ask anything. She prescribed something that to make a long story short was very expensive and my insurance wouldn't cover. A couple of days later when it still wasn't sorted I called the office a bit upset and they somehow got my Aetna policy (the worst insurance I've ever had) to cover it and the medication was delivered to my apartment that evening. Really disappointed. I just got back from this practice and had a bad experience. I was treated so poorly I ended up just walking out. I've been feeling quiet sick and had to wait 2+ weeks for an appointment but persevered because of the good yelp reviews. Today I was scheduled for a 1:30pm appointment with Dr. Jennifer Bonheur. I work in the area and have recently started a new job so don't have any vacation time to tack a day off. Before leaving for my appointment I tried calling their office 3 times - NO-ONE answered on any of my attempts. I understand that sometimes doctors are running 15-20 mins behind schedule so was trying to call ahead to find out how they were running time wise. When I couldn't get through I went up anyway and arrived for my appointment 10 minutes early. I went up to the 7th floor and approached the front desk. The receptionist was sitting behind the desk and did not great me or even aknowlege my existence. She then proceeded to have a chat to a woman that was standing on the other side of the desk. They weren't talking about anything work related, I could hear them just having a general chat. I couldn't believe how rude she was. She then stood up , walked around the desk and said "I'll be right back". So far I don't even know if I'm in the right place. I stood there another minute or two wondering if anyone was going to welcome me. I then turned around to see the same receptionist on the other side of waiting room having a chat to someone else!! I had to raise my voice and ask "Can I check in please?". She then scurried over, told me I was in the right place but appointments were running behind 45mins to an hour! I was so upset because I'd waited so long for my appointment and couldn't spend hours out of the office. I told the receptionist "I tried calling here 3 times" and she had massive attitude and said "we'll the phones are crazy" because naturally, I shouldn't have tried anything so silly as to call them. When I woke up in recovery I was completely soiled. When I asked the nurse taking care of me for wipes I waited 30 minutes for them. I requested my family to join me and they claimed they couldn't be reached, but were sitting in the waiting room the whole time I would not recommend this place to anyone I have had the same procedure 3 previous time at other places and never woke up this way. I was always able to bounce back a few hours after but this time I had to home... wash and go straight to bed until the next morning, pain after was ridiculous. read more

I was referred to this doctor by my PCP, and unfortunately, I'll never know whether or not it was a good referral because the process of scheduling an appt. w/ Dr. Glick was so terrible that I will never get to see him. When I called, the person who answered the phone said "Gotham Medical. Can you please hold?" She then put me on hold before I could even answer. I held on for so long that I put the phone on speaker to give my arm (and neck) a rest, and when she finally came back to the phone, she said, "hello" and when I said "yes," she hung up on me! I immediately called back and another female answered the phone, saying "Gotham Medical. Please hold." She immediately put me on another long hold with similar bubble gum, poppy 80's music. After 3 mins. I hung up. If this is how it is before I'm even an established patient, things can only go downhill. Went to the William Street location for an annual physical. My first time here, since my prior doctor moved. Doctor seemed nice, but unimpressed by the exam, felt it was very cursory. Nurse took vitals, BP, pulse, and temperature. Doctor listened to lungs, looked in throat, eyes and ears. Nurse took blood for basic screen. No urinalysis, no EKG, no reflex check, no hernia check which are all things I normally got at prior doctor. read more

AWFUL Customer service. obnoxious receptionists. i was transferred twice to a different practice mid sentence when i was still talking. called back the day after and the woman huffed and puffed under her breath when i asked what days are available for appointment. she started to say " I don't know what you want me to..." This review is for Dr. Gustave. My first visit, Dr. Gustave had me sit her in office to explain my symptoms and she was so attentive. She then took me into the exam room and gave me an exam which she also took her time doing. We then went back into her office where she gave me a plan of how we are going to move forward. She recommended an endoscopy to further investigate. She wanted me to come ASAP however I was unsure of a time I could come back so I told her I would call the office later that day. When I called the office, they gave me all available times and set me up with an endoscopy appointment with Dr Gustave for the following day! My endoscopy was extremely stress free. Dr. Gustave was waiting for me in the procedure room and then waiting for me in the recovery room as soon as I was done to discuss my results. I highly recommend this doctor! :) read more
