Kiwi burger. Beetroot, fried egg, Panko chicken, pineapple and cheddar. Insane

Having only tried this place for the first time last month, it pains me to only just discover that this venue used to be on taste card, and I'd never used it there :( So the nearest place I would liken GBK to is a cross between Five Guys, Byron and Nandos. Whilst not as spartan as Five guys, expect to find a table and order at the front. You're offered peanuts similar to Five Guys, however they will give you a glass to put peanuts into, rather than just helping yourself on arrival. Ordering is as simple as Nandos, and they will helpfuly customise your orders within reason. For instance I ordered the Kiwi Burger and replaced the beef with chicken. It's a nice touch that you also get to choose between a grilled chicken breast, or having it fried in panko breadcrumbs. Panic being that really fine japanese breadcrumb you find on chicken made specially for katsu curry. Service is prompt and the burgers massive. The kiwi burger was stacked! The sweet potato fries I'd ordered as an accompanying dish was heaven with the small dipping container of BACONAISE. Yes that's a thing and yes it's just as awesome as it sounds. In all, the food is great, service is brilliant and prices just right. Customisation is key. If you're fussy about how you have your food, this is a place that won't judge or make you feel like your small request will take them an extra 30 mins to cater for. If you don't want bun in your burger they'll happily substitute with a small salad. That's just how things should be done.

Located super close to Waterloo station. Great friendly staff and atmosphere. They have a booth seating set up which is nice and different from any other branch of GBK I have been to. I ordered the Cajun chicken burger with a side of chunky fries. The burger was cooked to perfection and the chips were crunchy and fresh. This was all washed down with elderflower, lemon and lime drink (free refills).

The smell in the entrance isn't pleasant, but any further thought on it is whisked away by the prompt service of being shown to a table (be it that it's strange the staff picks up the menu behind the guest waiting in line). Shown to a table you have to then get up and make it to the bar to place your order. A bit odd, but acceptable given that service is again good, prompt and friendly. It is a while waiting for the food to arrive and one notes how cold the room is, at times. It's as if a back door is opened and cold winter air pours in waves into the seating area. I am about to ask to be reseated but it's random and I decide to remain. Food arrives and it's well presented. I start with the fries and they are cold. I have them replaced and again service is fast and friendly, but while warm my fries arrive too salty. The burger is pretty (the yellow cheese!), but dry and gives lots of resistance. The bread is like something you find at McDonalds and the patty while ordered 'medium' is on the 'well done' side. In fact it reminds me of a restaurant chain in Thailand, Sizzler, where they'd put a flag in the steak stating how it was cooked. There and here, then and now, the flag means nothing. It's only tacky. A real chef would cook to your taste, and would not need to put a sign saying something else on it... Medium is not medium just because a flag says so. Overall I'd say staff is good, the place not so much, the food even less. It cannot compare with a proper gourmet burger restaurant, in Europe, US or elsewhere.

    Trying this out

I really like this branch of GBK - cool booths, more seating in the back too and good staff. In terms of burgers, I think they offer a lot of choice and they are cooked well (I like that you get the option of how well you would like your burger cooked). I tried the lamb burger this time which was pretty awesome (Harissa, mint yoghurt, cheese and rocket - yum). Accompany that with shoe string fries and an alcoholic ginger beer and you've got yourself a pretty tasty meal . GBK have such a wide choice I don't think you can go wrong (fish, beef, chicken, vegetarian burgers, and great sides). Oh they also have complimentary monkey nuts (if you like them) so you can nibble on those till the food arrives. I recommend getting the app too as you can earn some pretty awesome treats. In fact a free burger awaits my next visit - hmm but what to choose...

We just had for the first time delivery from GKB. The burgers arrived as if they just had been gotten out of the kitchen. And they were absolutely delicious! The baconnaise sauce is also very recommendable. Overall, perfect delivery service, same as having it at the restaurant.

Not a bad GBK but have been to better. However I loved the many booths down the side of the restaurant. Food took over 20 minutes to come and we dined on a Wednesday so don't know why took so long. But if I was in the area I would go back just because I love GBK burgers and their skinny fries yum.

Good food. Veggie burger was lovely. My friend liked the cheese burger. The sweet potato fries where not the best a bit soggy.

The cafe is super cute in Covent Garden. We were seated quickly at a small table and given a complementary cup of fresh popcorn. Jessi Juan, our server, was attentive and friendly. We ordered a glass of wine and a beer. The menu is fairly simple, steaks and sides. Other steak and wine specials are listed on a board. Steaks start at £15 and sides are £4-5. Food comes out super quick. My husband and I had Flat Iron steaks and shared sides of Roasted Aubergine, Tomatoes and Mozzarella and Bone Marrow Mash. I also ordered the Bearnaise sauce to compliment my steak. Everything tasted excellent. My husband LOVED the Bone Marrow Mash potatoes with fried onion bits. I loved the aubergine. You receive a token for a complementary ice cream cone, which you pick up when you leave. The ice cream is topped with chocolate powder. The free cone is delicious and a nice touch. I'd return, heck, I'd even stand in line.

What a ripoff! I was ordering a late night meal via UberEats and thought I'd try this. They were…read moreoffering two burgers for the price of one. What a deal, huh? Usually, places have minimum orders, especially for delivery, but I didn't see one. I did want some spuds and a lemonade with it, but the sequence of screens didn't allow for changing the order. I'd have to start all over again. After getting frustrated with that, I decided to just go ahead and try finishing the order with ONLY the burger. I expected it to not let me. But it did. HOWEVER, once it was delivered, joke was on me. See pic. That's one of the smallest, plainest burgers I've ever had. Dollar bill is for size comparison. Note there's no lettuce, no onlons, no mayo. Just some melted cheese, a puny burger and plain buns. That's it. And no second burger, either. For $15 plus a driver tip!?!?!? I called them, but the guy on the phone kept giving me the runaround, telling me to call UberEats, even though I emphasized it was their offer, their sent 'order', and I was paying them. Of course, on the UberEats website there's no real way to even contact them. They had a brand new customer. One that was ready to like 'em and do more busines. Not now. Quite the opposite. RIPOFFS!!!!!!!!!!

I wanted to write a colorful culinary review of this burger joint but I didn't want to put readers to sleep before I officially recommend Dirty Burger. If you are in London near Embankment or Vauxhall or Lambeth or at the MI6 headquarters, get your arse down to Dirty Burger and bite into the meaty cheesy greatness and enjoy the glorious french fries (frites) and the surprisingly savory donuts. DB is also hangover worthy as they stay open pretty late. As for the burgers, Dirty Burger encases the patties in exact proportion to the bun such that the bun is not violating the meat and toppings it's holding. I never appreciate things like that until I get a bun that dwarfs the meat. I don't know if they use local grass-fed cows, Angus, moose, Spanish Toros or whatever and I don't live in London so I really didn't care. But where ever the beef originated, god bless that place! Don't forget to top your burger! Onions are a must, cheese is a must and bacon is a must. You can't be calorie counting at DB. Attack those calories! Show 'em you ain't scared! The place is small but it serves the purpose. Decent background music and clean facility. Don't remember a toilet being there. Prices are great. A good meal for less than £9. Staff is efficient and courteous. 5***** no doubt!
