I was in town for a work trip and was looking for something to bring to the office to share with my co-workers/friends. Parlor was on the way to the Conrad from the Hutton Hotel, which was great since it allowed me to pick up some cold brew and some breakfast before going into conference mode. My wife loved it because she was able to order gluten free doughnuts that are made separate and cooked in a separate fryer. I had a taste and it was wicked good. For me, I went gluten and ordered the maple bacon and the chocolate peanut butter cup doughnuts. They were very magical. The batter and way of frying was different from what I have been used to but incredibly delicious. Their breakfast sandwiches were also very good. They take the fresh doughnuts and use it like a fresh ciabatta roll. Slice in the middle and put in the bacon, egg, and cheese. Very magical. If you have time, you can enjoy your treat and coffee in the clean and spacious dining area with table and counter seating. Ok so we didn't try the doughnuts, so we'll definitely need to try it next time we're in town. The breakfast sausage egg biscuit was awesome tho. Only thing was the flaky biscuit was not strong enough to hold it together as a sandwich and it crumbled. Other than that, the overall flavor was great! The coffee was ok. We prefer darker roast. Staff was friendly, but maybe one gal was in training because I asked for napkins and she pointed me to an almost empty roll of paper towels, lol. Wow this was my first time at Parlor and these donuts were delicious. I got half a dozen to share with coworkers and asked the cashier to help with the selection process. He recommended some of their most popular, the Sandy Beach donut and the French Toast which ended up being my favorite. I also got a cold brew while I was there which was the perfect amount of sweetness. This location has kind of weird parking so keep that in mind but it's in Midtown which is a central location to a lot of hotels and apartments nearby. If you're visiting or live here is a great stop for breakfast and coffee. The service was awesome too and the two guys who helped me were very friendly. Wow! I'm more of a traditional donut gal...however these donuts were unique. Reminded me more of a cronut, very light BUT packed with flavor. Got to try a few...my faves were their cinnamon roll, s'mores and cookies and cream. Each donut was flavorful and beautifully decorated. Very fluffy donuts and not greasy. There were so many options here. Honestly every donut was like a fritter with donut toppings. The coffee is SO GOOD. The donuts offer a lot of options for every palette. I did not particularly like the bourbon brown sugar donut that I ordered, but I also ordered a savory item of avocado toast with a hard boiled egg and tajin. I think if I had ordered a different flavor of donut I would have been blown away, but the bourbon one just didn't hit like I wanted it to. French toast is covered in maple and definitely a the top pick for all of us (me, hubs, kiddo). We also tried the strawberry, lemon, and carnival (glazed with sprinkles). The seating is plenty, it was a cozy atmosphere, the staff were friendly and helpful, restrooms were very nice (baby had a blowout!! ‍) including a changing station in the men's room. I saw someone eating one of these doughnuts and they looked so good I decided to go try it for myself. There are at least 2 locations in Nashville, maybe more. The service was extremely friendly and efficient and the decor was industrial neat; supremely clean and inviting. I got a selection of 5 different doughnuts (blueberry, sandy beach, French toast, blueberry, and caramel) and they all looked delicious. The French Toast is what is stated as the most popular, but I found, of the ones I tried, that the Sandy Beach was the best while blueberry took 2nd place. It seems as if they use different dough for different doughnuts because some seemed soft (Sandy Beaxh) and other seemed a bit more chewy (French Toast) I most likely will return to try some other flavors given how pleasant of an experience it was. read more

I chose to visit Parlor Doughnuts after I was informed by a friend that they had gluten-free doughnuts--a rare find in Nashville! What's really cool is that they'll glaze the doughnuts to order if they don't have what you're looking for in the case. I got the French toast and churro glazed doughnuts. Gluten-free doughnuts are difficult to do right--they can easily be dry or overly dense. While these were certainly more dense than your regular doughnut, they are the best I've had in Nashville, and I enjoyed the toppings and glazes. While the service was friendly, my one complaint was that they closed the kitchen before noon, so I was unable to order any of their non-doughnut breakfast items that I'd been looking forward to trying. Closing the kitchen before noon on a Sunday seemed early, and I'd love to have had the opportunity to try more from their menu. I'd also note that their coffee is fine, but nothing special. I don't know what can be said about Parlor Doughnuts that hasn't already been said. It's terrific and that's really all you need to know. But I'll add on: I was hosting a Team Meeting so I ordered donuts and coffee for a dozen or so folks. Didn't know about Parlor Doughnuts but I figured a couple dozen "mixed" donuts and a couple of boxes of "minis" would be enough. These are hardy, hearty, dudes that work outdoors with their hands, so I knew the donuts would disappear quickly. I was mistaken: Parlor Doughnut's donuts are HUGE and sugar bombs. Most folks on my team would gobble down one and their glucose level would spike so high it was nap time. (I say this in a Good Way!) We had about 1/2 our donuts leftover after the team meeting, but -- strangely -- all of them were gone by the end of the day. :-) Lots of folks have opinions about the best donut joints in Nashville, but they're wrong, unless they're playing for Team Parlor.
