Convenient location, nice little store with fair prices. Good selection of food from different places. "Fresh" salad area was a hot mess.

The major supermarket chain in Puerto Rico, Pueblo Supermarkets expanded to the US Virgin Islands…read morein 1963. now having two in USVI, including this one in Charlotte Amalie West. It is within walking distance of the Crown Bay cruise terminal. It's not much to look at from the inside, but has most of the major US grocery brands. And it serves as the place to buy household goods like light bulbs, etc. The prices were not as high as I expected, considering it's located on an island. Something unusual was that there was an entire room dedicated to refrigerated items, with the room itself refrigerated (with freezers in it to keep frozen goods). This is where the meat was kept, and it was a decent selection with comparable prices to the mainland. Ended up buying two bags of Funyons for lower than what it would be on the mainland, and some Airbourne dietary supplements to help me fight this bug that seems to continuously mutate, annoyingly throughout this trip (which still has a long way to go).

It's a good place to go if you're looking for something like brand name snacks or sodas, but the prices are high and the store isn't very nice inside. This feels like a dirty discount market, and it's definitely a place that locals shop. You aren't going to find any gourmet items, just regular day to day essentials. I love looking in markets when I travel, so I had to check this place out. They have a small liquor area with a big selection of rum (particularly flavored Cruzan). Crossing the busy street is something else, and bring your patience. It's best just to follow a confident local when crossing, or you'll be waiting all day. Don't go out of your way to shop here, but if you're looking for an authentic local experience, this is your grocery store!

This place cracks me up, it's like a customer service training video on what not to do. This is the…read morefirst place of where we were told "why?!" When we said "thank you" to the cashier upon leaving with our items. And it's really not you if you find the cashiers sucking their teeth at you and don't utter a word throughout the transaction. It's them, I really think a majority of them are allergic to being nice. But we saw the best experience last week: Customer: "you shut up" Cashier: "no you shut up" Customer: " you shut up you're a grown woman shut up" Cashier " I don't need to shut up you need to shut up" Customer "shut up shut up shut up" Cashier " you shut up shut up shut up!" (While being dragged away by another cashier) Shopping and entertainment? We think so. We've also learned over the past few years that the items fluctuate in pricing. Earlier this year we bought a 55" tv for $850 the next few days we went back to get another one the price jumped to $999.99. There is no price match here, only a "I think we priced it wrong when it went out onto the floor". Same thing happened for a ottoman we purchased. We got it for $99, we decided again to get a second one and found the price jumped to $299. So lesson learned here, is that if you like it and it looks reasonably priced, it is probably due to human error, so buy it now before they catch the mistake. Also make sure you check expiration dates, they don't care if you take expired items or items a few days away from hitting those dates. The worst part of this store is the to go food counter. Beware of the undercooked grey meat and if you complain about your fries being cold be prepared to get a stinky look. The best was a few days ago the hubby asked 3 employees lined up (back behind the counter doing NOTHING )if they were going to give us our order and the response was a stare back and the cashier going off on them and still no order. This is one of the few stores with no hurricane damage, they carry Kirkland products and they are still receiving regular shipments so you can actually find things. What's scary about all of this is that pricesmart isn't that bad in comparison to other grocery stores so imagine of what you'll get to deal with elsewhere! #St.Thomas #USVI

There are only five things we come here for:…read more 1) lottery and scratch tickets - they have a stand at the front but it's been closed since the hurricanes hit 2) Indian section- yep it's all here from Roti flour to ghee and every Dahl and spice imaginable. My mother in law has found everything that she needs here to make anything she cooks (which is great from the hubby & I!) . They are very well stocked and prices are of course higher than stateside but we are on an island. 3) Kings Hawaiian Bread and Hawaiian Host chocolates- a taste of home, can't pass that up 4) the cheapest fresh herbs and spicy peppers on island - our refrigerator at all times is stocked with at least a bag of Serranos & jalapeños and 3 bags of cilantro 5) their pre-made Roti section Anything outside of the list above can be found at another store at a more reasonable price. They were one of the first grocery stores to get up and running after the hurricanes and did some price gouging like $10 for a tub of Greek yogurt and $11 for milk? Not cool, hopefully prices will go back down. The cashiers are also all miserable and barely say a word to you, but that's the theme of this island (poor customer service). Lines can be long and the parking situation is a free for all outside on the weekends so try to come here during the weekdays. #St.Thomas #USVI
