I stopped in the store while on my lunch break. It's small and they have a few things in the case and throughout the store. Not a ton of options to just a stop in to buy, but there was enough to choose from. I bought some frosted sugar cookies and a two pack of molasses cookies. I tried the molasses cookies first. I was very disappointed. I'm not sure what happened here. They were almost gritty like they added too much seasoning to the cookies. It was very strange. I was hesitant to try the sugar cookies, but I'm glad I did. They were delicious and amazing. I will definitely buy more of the sugar cookies in the future. read more

I'll start by saying - I don't prefer sugar cookies. I've never liked them as much as a good chocolate chip cookie and really don't like to waste my calories on them. Until now. I had planned an event and we asked Gourmet Goodies to provide some sailboat shaped cookies for everyone. Not only were they beautiful, but I tasted one and holy cow those are DELICIOUS cookies! Like, really, really good. They have a great consistency and I really like the *click* of the hardened frosting when you bite into it. Anyway, since then, I'm a convert! I stopped in yesterday to get some cookies for my office. I had to grab a C-3PO cake pop (photo included) for my son because it was Star Wars day. It made his day. Was waiting to try more items before reviewing, so here I go. Their mini pastries are so fun and a great thing to pick up when you want to provide a treat for a lot of people with different preferences. The cookies are also tasty, and the treats like Oreos, Rice Krispies, pretzel sticks, etc. are great for shipping to friends (I shipped priority, and they held up just fine). The cupcakes are a big disappointment, especially since they're almost four bucks. Having been to the big cupcake places like Sprinkles and Georgetown Cupcake, these were a bummer, and standard stuff at the grocery store taste better (they are very pretty though!) Admittedly, I have not tried the macarons or cake pops yet. Hopefully next trip! It's hard to drive near that shopping center and not pull in for the chocolate mousse mini dessert. read more

Gourmet Goodies did an excellent job with the cake and cookie favors for my sister's baby shower. My sister-in-law originally ordered cookie favors and she sent the website to me. After browsing it, I sent an e-mail to see if they would be willing to do the cake. I worked with Deb, who was just fantastic. I live in Connecticut, so all of this was done through e-mails and one or two phone calls. I sent her a screenshot of the invites. The shower theme was woodland creatures. Deb found a few ideas she sent to me and had me choose one. She sent a rough sketch in the invoice. I will admit, I was a bit nervous because I had never been to the shop or purchased anything from them before. They had come highly recommended though via a friend of my sister-in-law. They did not disappoint! The cake (picture posted) was absolutely adorable. It was delicious as well. We could not have been happier. The cookies matched perfectly too and were just as buttery, light, and delicious. They did a fantastic job of pulling it all together and executing our theme with top level adorable tastiness. Not sure about prices in New York, but compared to the places I have used in Connecticut, they were beyond reasonable. I am a big fan and will definitely use them again should a celebratory need again arise. read more

I was tase-testing cupcakes for my daughter's wedding. I had high hopes based on reviews. Very let down, however. The cake and frosting of each flavor was boring. They all tasted the same. And the cake pops were so bad, I actually couldnt eat it. Mushy and i hate to even say it, cause its so mean, but they were gross. Where to begin! Deb did an amazing job on our wedding treats. We had a beautiful 2 tiered cake on top of a cup cake tower with 4 different kinds of desserts surrounding. She decorated the cake exactly as I envisioned. I am gluten free, so we did our small cake the gf chocolate and some of the cupcakes the white gluten free. So moist & delicious! We opted to get more cupcakes then she recommended and less of the small pastry desserts.. which was our only mistake. Should have listened to Deb, all the pastries were gone in a flash and we had lots of left over cupcakes. So happy with how it all turned out. This bakery claimed to have gluten free products. I bought cookies from them, and when I ate it had allergic reaction to it. The cookie packages should be marked and have what kind they are. Called the store and the owner did make good on them. Small store and has nice selection of goodies for people who are not gluten free or have food allergies. read more

Gourmet Goodies is absolutely amazing! Maybe I'm just used to a San Francisco price point, but this cafe has so many different drinks and pastries at such reasonable prices that it blows my mind. Their menu is varied every day, but the two times I've been there, they've had great food, beverages and pastries for me. Their top item is their mini pastries, which are just so cute, delicious, and again so reasonably priced! Wow! This place just hosted a bridal shower for us and really did an AMAZING job! The decor is warm and inviting. The food choices, flavors, and presentation were excellent. The service was friendly, smooth, and never intrusive. I could trust them completely with all the details and was able to to do all the decisions via calls and emails from out of state. They allowed us to decorate, helped arranged tables, and adjust lighting and music. They cleaned up, wrapped up extra food, and set us up to leave well fed and happy. Amazing food and service! I was concerned about ordering in food during the COVID19 crisis but they took the fear away. You can call in your order, pay and then pickup the order without leaving your car. The employee delivering the food to your vehicle wears a mask and gloves as well. The best part? I've had many of their pasties and cookies in the past and, of course, they are delicious, but finally got to try their lunch today. Their soup and sandwich combo is a great deal. Yummy choices of soups, sandwiches and stuffed breads that vary daily and they really fill you up! While we took ours to go, there is a nice,bright, quiet space inside to enjoy your lunch.
