looking for bone -warming comforting drinks, like cidar, hot chocolate, lattes and other coffees, with bakery bites too boot? drive on by and grab a drink and a treat. delicious "bevere" with half and half with coconut flavoring. no seating, located in a parking lot with dual window drive through.

The sweetest barista gave me the drinks and she got me addicted to the RBIS drink she made!

The barista was super nice and the coffee was tasty! We got oat milk lattes and they were perfect.

I have no complaints about the service or the baristas. They were friendly and did their job! My complaint is the "espresso shake". I ordered a shake because I wanted something creamy and thick, like a milkshake should be. What I got instead was an icy, watery, Frappuccino like drink that I'm pretty sure was made with yoguccino or something similar. Please don't advertise these as milk shakes because they are not. Use real ice cream!

My fave. Iced, white chocolate mocha!

I've been going to this Gourmet Latte for almost 10 years now and have to say they serve the best coffee around! I love the fun, friendly ladies, my mochas are always delicious and my son is obsessed with their fruit smoothies and cookies!

Best white mocha I have ever had. Not really anything else to say. This sets the standard to which all other coffee should be measured.

Good pastries, nice staff, and free roll for kids!…read more Our experience was great. They gave coupons the first two times we went. One for a free pastry next visit and after we used that they gave a coupon for a free bread loaf the next visit. The pastries are really high quality and creative, like the cottage coins(?) and the rye chocolate chip cookie.

I've visited The Cottage a couple more times, along with visiting plenty of other Seattle-area…read morebakeries, and I unfortunately no longer think they are top tier. I'm not sure if it's because something changed on the side of the bakery (maybe recipe or personnel changes?) or on my side, having tried more bakeries around the area. On our last visit we bought two loaves of bread to accompany a butter tasting. Both loaves I found to be not nearly as high quality as I remember previously. Pane Bello ($9) - The crust basically doesn't exist in this bread. It's soft and leathery and doesn't give that satisfying crispness of a well baked bread. The interior, while having good crumb structure, is particularly dry and almost crumbly. The taste is mild, perfect for pairing with higher end butters. (3/5) Parmesan Black Pepper Sourdough ($9) - This batard has similar texture as compared to the Pane Bello. It has the addition of plenty of black pepper baked inside, spaced out rather evenly, allowing a peppery bite every time. There's salty and fatty parmesan baked on top, giving a caramelized salty umami. It definitely has more flavor than the Pane Bello, but suffers from the same textural issues. (3/5) We purchased both loaves at 10AM on a Sunday morning and they were consumed within 2.5 hours, so I don't think it's an issue with storage. I ate a bit of their regular foccacia at a work event too. It has a good crispy exterior and is salted well on the top. Unfortunately the interior isn't the best, having a really dense, chewy crumb. I'm honestly not sure what happened. I really loved The Cottage when I first moved here 1.5 years ago. Now? I have a number of bakeries I'd choose over here in a heartbeat.

I was not able to get one of the angled parking slots adjacent to the cafe, but found a 4 hour spot near their conference center and fire station down the street. They definitely take full advantage of the amazing waterway view on their multilevel terrace with various plantings and whimsical wood carved fixtures. The cafe has a variety of both outdoor and indoor seating. Welcoming counter service. There's breakfast and lunch menu items, baked goods, and coffee/tea service. I decided to hang out onsite with the warmed, tasty vanilla scone and well crafted, spring inspired 12oz mocha. A few folks were on laptops, rest were there for lunch and lively convo. It was also good to see upbeat camaraderie among the cafe staff. Always a treat to stop by an indie cafe that provides pleasant service, decent food/bev selections, seating for lingering, and an amazing view!

The only big downside for me is that there isn't any comfortable seating. This is definitely a place that you could come work, or talk with a friend. But, if you want to sit and read for a while, it might not be very comfortable. There are hard chairs and benches. Then there was one stuffed dining chair but it was not very comfortable. There is outside seating that has a nice atmosphere where you can't really see the street at all. We had iced lattes, which were pretty good. They have almond milk. Our drinks were made pretty quickly. There was one person that ordered ahead of us and we got our drinks in about 5 minutes.

They have a regular menu but also a seasonally changing menu of themed drink options that are so fun to try! And getting the works (added cost) gets you the fun toppings of whipped creams, cookies, cakes, candy, whatever else they can fit on the top of your drink. A couple things to note: the drinks take a minute to make, so don't expect to walk or drive up and be on your way in a jiffy. They're also expensive - I got an iced 16oz drink with the works and it was over $10 before tip; not getting the fun toppings might drop your total by $1.50-2 but it's still a pricey visit. That being said, I'm giving 4 stars because once you're prepared for the wait and accept the prices, it's a fun treat and the staff are always friendly. The drinks are hit or miss for me - I'm not the biggest fan of coffee, so I don't care for the drinks that are coffee forward, but I like trying the fun seasonal flavors so I try to go at least once per season.

But…read moreeither I've just gone on the wrong days, or this place is just really inconsistent with the way they make their drinks. This time when I visited, I ordered a 12oz with the works, and it was expensive, but I was willing to give it a try. The drink was super pretty and came with a ton of whipped cream and peanut butter drizzle, which I was happy about. However, the coffee was insanely bitter, and I usually like strong coffee, but I couldn't handle this one for some reason. And it kinda felt like they just tossed on the most random toppings. Like for example, really stale cookie dough pieces (don't get me wrong, I love cookie dough, but these were inedible; like they had been sitting out uncovered for days), a plain ladyfinger, etc. Not sure if I'd go again, might consider it if there's a seasonal offering I like and I'm in the area.
