I know I came here way back in the day, but it was a different location and I remember enjoying it. I fully anticipated ordering breakfast as it was 9 am, but after looking over the menu I opted for lunch. Now coming in it was a little awkward as you walk in and the counter is right by the entrance just like most restaurants, but there were no signs that said wait to be seated or seat yourself. After standing there for a couple of minutes I saw people grabbing menus and congregating to the register. I was waiting for someone so it worked out well. You order and then take your number or in this case a magic 8 ball to the table(so they know which order goes where). This location is much larger than I remember. It had a very eclectic ambiance. More or less different types of tables and chairs everywhere, but gave off a homey vibe. The people that were working were very pleasant. We both opted for water, in which they had a water station for you to fill a cup and sit down. After sipping my water I noticed the glass I had was chipped and cracked, a chard actually chipped off in my hand. I took it back up to the front and exchanged it. Probably not the best idea to have all of the glasses stacked on top of on another. I ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich, in which upon ordering they had to check if they were ready to serve that. I was lucky enough that they were, although I did have a back up plan. The turkey sandwich came out with a mixed green salad with a dressing I was not sure of, but was very refreshing. The turkey sandwich on sourdough was very flavorful and I was very happy with my pick. I would definitely come back here and try more things, although the Cajun sandwich remains on my mind. We have to begin by describing the vibe here -- I was picking up 80's Coffee House Vibes -- kinda like Everett's version of the Last Exit. (gotta climb in the Wayback Machine for that gem!) I loved that I saw at least six versions of my childhood dining room table, which felt so nostalgically comfortable that I wanted to crawl under one with my coloring books and my chocolate milk. But I digress -- you're supposed to be reading my review. I decided that I was in the mood for grilled cheese and tomato soup, so that's what I ordered. The tomato soup is really amazing -- so fresh tasting and delicious. But the sandwich was next level nom-ness. I opted to get it on sourdough because it's the best for dunking into the soup. In conclusion, I want to talk about the service -- ordering was fairly simple, and the varied menu made it exciting to know there are so many choices. The food is home cooking style! Pick up a menu on the way in and order at the counter. The host will provide a toy of some sort for your food to be delivered to your self service table. Pick up silverware and water to your 1950's dinette tables. There's lots of tables and service is quick. This beats chain restaurants! I would return! I ate the cheesy grits and crispy bacon. As you pass through the threshold, you're confronted with a chalkboard listing the specials of the day. It definitely worked on me - usually specials are relegated to a small corner of the menu, but here they are front and center. I couldn't resist and so I got the Pot Roast Dip. It's a sandwich that has a good amount of pot roast, some bacon jam that's glued together with provolone and Swiss cheese all on a Giuseppe roll (From Macrina Bakery? It's a crust roll). The bacon jam and sandwich dressing makes the sandwich really sweet, but the Angus sauce is very salty, and so when the sandwich is dipped it all balances out interestingly enough. It was good to try, but I think I'll order something else next time. I also got a Mocha latte- very smooth and delicious. I would get this again! Their bathrooms are shared with the rest of the building - the code is at the cashiers. The wifi password is right next to it too. Sisters in Everett is an eclectic casual spot for lunch that you can tell is pretty locally loved. There was a constant flow of people coming and going during our lunch meeting here. You order at the counter and you're given an item to signal your table - our item? A large plastic toy dinosaur. Definitely nothing like a standard table number placard LOL other tables had just as random items to signal their seats. Cute touch and nothing I've seen before. The menu is pretty extensive and there's pretty much something for everyone. They also do breakfast all day if that's your jam. I went with the Cajun Turkey Sandwich with oven-roasted turkey topped with tomato, onion, lettuce, red onion, pepper jack cheese and chipotle aioli. The aioli had a great flavor to it and gave the sandwich the kick it needed. I got the half size which ended up being the perfect amount for me alongside their daily soup offering which was split pea. A little more on the watery side (I'm partial to a thicker split pea soup), but it still had lots of flavor! Definitely a cute spot and worth checking out if you're looking for a laidback lunch experience. read more

I appreciate the number of vegan options at this diner. However we weren't wowed by any. We got a couple of vegan burritos and they were heavy on potato and were missing out of the queso they advertised to have. The chocolate cake was very sweet and not fresh. Same for the apple pie. That thing was straight out of the refrigerator and the apples were too sweet and canned-tasting. The best thing we had there were probably the fluffy vegan pancakes but they were also a tad raw. The clientele here was very friendly and there were several families with young kids dining here when we here in the morning. read more

I really enjoyed my vegetarian sandwich on very fresh whole wheat bread. I included cheddar cheese and Chipotle aioli. Yum. My friend had a breakfast dish and enjoyed that as well. We had never been here before but had heard good reviews. You order at the counter when you go in. Then you pick a table and wait for your food. The counter person and server were both friendly. We had the Reuben sandwich and the breakfast burrito. We ordered the breakfast burrito with sausage but got bacon instead. It would have been much better with the sausage. I even checked the receipt and it had sausage listed on it. The drinks seemed over priced. A little while after we got there, a loud (microphone and speakers in the small dining area) poetry reading started. I looked all over their website and Facebook page and could not find a calendar with events listed so we could avoid this in the future. I will probably order to go next time I visit. read more

What a great place! It's like a time machine back to the 60's. I had the pancakes and I must say, these were the most flavorful pancakes I've had in a very long time! Wow! I am amazed! My friend had the salmon sandwich and he loved it! On the way out there is a counter where they sell various baked goods. I bought a slice of coconut pie that was most excellent too! One thing that wasn't good is the bathroom door is too narrow for my wheelchair. So I really need to make sure that I go before going here. read more

I went for a weekday around lunch and there were a lot of people in line- it's clear this spot is very beloved! The line did move pretty fast. They also do breakfast all day! I am gluten free and was happy that they had gluten free bread! I got a tuna melt with a side salad. It was pretty good. Nothing I couldn't make at home, but still good. It feels kind of like an elevated cafeteria inside, with all different kind of tables and chairs. It's quirky and cool. It's not crazy, it's a deli with pretty standard food but the people are super nice and it's got a big dining hall area which could be nice for lunches with friends or meeting with people or doing homework. They have vegan options which is nice, I'm not vegan but having more options than just salad is huge for a menu. I've had sandwiches here and some pastries and it feels like a home cooked meal. Thankfully my wife and I were not afraid of snakes, as we got a rubber snake as our order identifier. The back room is filled with a decent number of tables. They have free water available so you don't need to stress about purchasing a beverage. I ordered the Reuben sandwich. It comes with chips or a salad. This has to be one of my top favorite Reuben sandwiches I've ever had!!! The pastrami was so flavorful. The sauerkraut was warm and had the right amount of picklyness (is that a real word?) to it. I really like this place and have spent many memorable moments of my life here. The service is good, ambiance is okay. But I am bummed at the limited options for folks who don't or cannot eat pork. The substitute is avocado, which I love--but half the time I've subbed and got avocado, it's not ripe. It's hard. Doesn't seem fair to charge me meat prices for a hard avocado. The other thing is 3 times in the past few weeks any beef meal has been sold out by 1:30. I've been told by the staff that the beef meals consistently sell out. That's a real bummer too. I'm not gonna stop going here. It's hit and miss but when it hits, it knocks it out of the park as the old folks say. I'm bummed about this place. The ambiance was cute with the quirky little table markers, but the food was disappointing. I ordered the corned beef hash, and there were specks of corned beef. I didn't even see anything more than a 2 millimeter piece of meat. Is it the economy or what's going on? It was very greasy with mostly potatoes and one sad little piece of overtoasted sour dough. Hmmm- I love breakfast! I decided to look up breakfast near me and found The Sisters Restaurant rated highly and not too far from the hotel. When you enter in, you order at the counter and they have tables with accoutrements, silverware, condiments and such to put on your table. The dining room through the big doorway is spacious and has exposed brick walls, wonderful antique mirrors along the on side and huge windows on the other. Plenty of large photo portraits of moms, children and siblings are proudly displayed. I don't think and of the tables and chairs matched- which just gave even more charm. I ordered the broccoli, mushroom and cheddar quiche, came with homefries and an arugula salad & I hot hot tea with honey. The homefries smelled wonderful as soon as the plate landed in front of me- grilled up with onions, they were very tasty. The quiche was SO GOOD!!! I mean- thank you for having quiche on the menu!!! And, of course, I love my hot tea- especially in the morning. John got the Denver scramble- eggs scrambled ham, peppers, onions & chedder and came with homefries. He loved and devoured all of it- rapidly! lol Robert ordered oatmeal and a fruit plate and grabbed a bottle of apple juice from the cold case. Oatmeal was served with granola, raisins, brown sugar, butter and milk and he happily ate his breakfast. The fruit plate had three slices of watermelon, mandarin orange slices, grapes and blueberries- all fresh and all delicious and I may have helped myself to some fruit too! They also have baked goods!!! Pies, cookies, lemon bars, banana bread and more- I got a lemon bar and a ginger- molasses cookie to-go. Again- both were very good. I was pleasantly pleased with the hospitality and positive attitude of the greeter/hostess/counter person (not sure what to call him). We ordered and were given a little frog (see pic) to put on our table so the server would know where we sat. So much cuter than an old number!! :-) We ate light today (only salads) but will be back for the other yummy items on the list. Waking up and hungry in Everett, WA brought us to The Sisters Restaurant. Such a delightful restaurant featuring home cooked meals made fresh! As soon as you enter I felt warmth and kindness. I believe this is a family run business. Upon entering you need to order and pay in advance of finding a table. We came in about 10am and the dining area was half full and we easily found a table for four people. Breakfast Burrito - if you are hungry this is for you Sourdough Breakfast Sandwich - perfectly toasted with whole lot of yummy Classic American Breakfast - nothing wrong with eggs and crispy bacon with toast They do say breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
