The Good: The servicers/pool technicians are thoughtful, thorough, and helpful and do a good job maintaining the pool. I was on a weekly service plan, and the service was smooth other than the summer's heat. Note: In the summer heat or if you have lots of use during the summer, you will need to shock or add chemicals yourself. They don't make return visits in between jobs. The Bad: Service is inconsistent. 1.) Setup on a Tuesday, all good until the techs don't show up, and then you'll have to ask what happened, and you'll be on a new schedule. My schedule changed more than four times in 6 months. 2.) When it rained, and I called to be rescheduled, the GPS Onwer said there are five weeks in a month, and they only do four services. He was short on the phone and said they would take care of it next week. I ended up servicing the pool myself Communication is inconsistent. This is not a proactive service. The customer must probe on what is happening around service or questions. Be careful what is said; the owner is sensitive and short in temper and may not know what the tech is doing. No Ownership / Accountability for Issues. If you have an issue, you will not get a resolution. 1.) I gave a technician a Psyclone Filter Cleaner; he said the owner would give me a discount/credit on my bill; when I asked about it, the owner did not know and said that he fired a technician; it must have been him. I lost a filter cleaner ($300), and the Owner did nothing. 2.) I was on holiday for 3 weeks, and I returned to the house and found the pool pump running with no water circulation. The pump plumbing was so hot I estimate the pump had been running 8 hours a day for at least a week. If you look at the pics below, you can see the technician crushed the white internal filter tube when re-installing the filter cartridge. I took pictures, fixed the issue, and emailed the owner what had happened and that I would hold his company accountable for any damage. The GPS Pool Cleaner Owner showed up at the house, and I showed the owner what happened to the white tube and that the heat of the pool pump without water damaged o-rings in a cross pipe that is now leaking. He stated that I threatened him because I asked him to be accountable for the services that I pay him to provide. The Owner of GPS Pool then used unprofessional language telling me how old the equipment was, I had terrible pools, that they have problems, and that any problem was not his responsibility. He fired me as a customer and refused to hear any further explanation. Oh yes, he did try to blame everything on a technician he fired. I asked when he was fired with no response. I have video footage from May 11th - May 14 that shows the GPS pool technician servicing on May 11th, and on May 12th, you can see the pump slowly losing power and eventually not producing any filtering by the end of the 12th. By May 13, the pool was no longer filtering. How can he say it's not his fault when the evidence is overwhelming, and his tech was the last to service the equipment? Initially, I liked this company, and they came recommended to us by our old pool guy, who was retiring. Then that changed. Unresponsive, poor customer service, lacking in communication skills, not proactive, lacking in technical expertise, ok with leaving customers without the use of their pool or spa for months at a time. Left us for months without a working spa because they couldn't source a relay, or get a qualified electrician to come out and fix it; I had to do that myself. They're anything but proactive in this regard. Had to repeatedly text them to get a pole back for my leaf rake net, which they accidentally loaded onto their truck. They came out and were unable to clean our pool because of the heavy oak bloom this spring. Owner stated because of the amount of oak pollen bay they would need to clean the filter and that their employee didn't have the necessary parts on their truck to do that, and they would be coming out the following Tuesday to rectify the problem. I texted them to confirm they would be out to work on the pool with no response after several hours, so I followed up that afternoon with a phone call. Asked owner when they would be able to come out to take care of the filter, and he states they they wouldn't be able to do it until Friday because of scheduling (after committing to get it done that day). I found this to be very upsetting, and admittedly raised my voice in frustration, to which he immediately accused me of trying to intimidate him, and hung up on me. Now, I have worked extensively in sales and customer service, and I have never hung up on a customer because they raised their voice in frustration, especially if they were upset because there was a commitment that wasn't being met on the part of their vendor. I feel strongly that he considered us to be a problematic customer, being outside the city limits. We have several oak trees on our property, as well as some older pool equipment (perhaps more work than they wanted to do, and further out than they wanted to drive) so he maybe was already looking for an excuse to get rid of us as customers instead of trying to work with us to find a solution to a problem that I feel his his company exacerbated. Well, mission accomplished, sir. Pics and video are of the state they left us in for months. It took a week and a half of another company coming out, daily, to resolve this, as well as a good chunk of cash. As an aside, I waited a few months to cool down before posting this, just to make sure I wasn't letting emotions cloud my judgement. read more

This is an overdue comment and compliment to GPS. My pool needed to be resurfaced. When I got this pool 5 months ago, I had toads and other living creatures in the pool since it was long neglected by the previous owner. GPS was the second company that I contacted. DO NOT USE. This company is extremely unreliable and the owner has a sense of entitlement to money he refuses to earn. The company missed a day because of rain which is understandable. They refused to make up service despite the fact that it did not rain for the following four days after scheduled service. This is complicated by the fact that GPS REFUSED to use my inline chlorinator meaning every day missed is a week of unbalanced chemicals in my pool and a very dirty pool. This has happened before and I had to pay extra to fix it. Find another option. Attached is the owners email response when asked about service.
