They have continually improved their administration efforts, and despite the problems and roadblocks put in front of the league by NYC's ridiculous "permit" and "lights" problems, they have provided an excellent opportunity to hundreds of athletes to compete in well-organized, legitimate leagues (in a lot of sports beside softball as well). ANyway... I thought it fair to give them a POSITIVE endorsement. THey deserve it. If you are looking for a league to play in, they offer "FREE AGENT" signings... so you can most likely find a team. THey also have different divisions for different levels of play. This makes sports appealing and fun for all. The people at YSA are very approachable and I endorse their Association. I have played with them for over 25 years.... and for me, playing in organized, competitive sports leagues, is one of the most enjoyable parts of my life. It's been a hot minute since I've been on Long Island; I had forgotten how deep Melville actually was...lol Literally on the border of Nassau and Suffolk. This location had a large parking lot that was shared with the other businesses adjacent. Inside, the courts feel pretty big, with plenty of room on the sides and back to maneuver and run for difficult shots. Court surfaces are smooth and well maintained and the facilities are very clean. Ceiling height was adequate for most lobs to be successful. People I played with were mostly friendly and competitive. One thing I was not expecting was how old the demographic here is; my estimate, the average age in that time slot I played in was 55-60. Nevertheless, this was a nice facility to play at. I don't know if I'll ever go back though because it's so far out of the way coming from Queens.
