They had to disconnect the washer and dryer and re-connect, everything was done correctly and worked well when they were done. The new floor looks wonderful and it was hassle free with Humble Carpet. We have had Brooks do several floors in our house now and are very happy with his work! (Details on…read morethe projects below.) Brooks is a perfectionist who does beautiful and meticulous work. He does all the work himself so you know you can trust the project will be done well. He is also easy to work with, reliable, and charges very reasonable rates. We will definitely be hiring Brooks again for other floor projects in our house! We recently bought an old home in Pittsburgh (built in 1895) and have had Brooks rehab and refinish the floors in several rooms so far. He was able to hand sand and remove stains on the original parquet floor in the dining room which other floor specialists told us would not come out. When we bought the house, the landing of the staircase was unstained oak while the stairs and surrounding wainscoting were stained dark. Brooks was able to stain the landing to match the wood around it with exceptional precision. He was also able to disguise a few very unfortunate gouges in our living room floor that were made by the movers (we had JUST had Brooks redo this floor prior to moving in so were very disappointed about the damage caused by the movers). We were very happy Brooks could fix it!

The price was about 3 times less than other bids I received, and the result is superb. It looks beautiful and gives me so much peace of mind. My floors are 100 years old, and had some repairs and refinishes along the way, some done poorly. Before the job, the floors had many broken, loose, and split boards. They were discolored, worn in some areas, and had slight gaps at the end of the boards. D&J repaired them so well you cant even tell where the repairs where. The floors overall feel much more solid, are a consistent stain and finish throughout, and even squeak a good bit less, though that wasnt really a promised outcome due to the age and construction of the floor. Overall, extremely satisfied with the whole process and outcome. Highly recommend them.

We were excited to hire these guys to refinish 2 stories of our house based on the experience they…read morehad and all the positive reviews. They were supposed to work Mon - Fri but Dave called to say they had a family commitment on Monday and would get the job done Tues - Fri, which they did. The first floor is beautiful. I love the stain. But the second floor is disappointing, especially around the perimeter of each room. There are long lines of stain where it sat too long and visible scuff and sanding marks. They should have gone back in with a hand sander and a finer grit, but didn't. It took them a week to respond to our 2 emails & 2 phone calls. Dave was on vacation, so we dealt with his dad, Jerry. We met at the house & he initially agreed to try & fix the problems. The night before they were supposed to try fixing them, though, he called us (@9pm) and said there wasn't anything they could do. The floors were "good enough" and they would neither try to repair nor give any money back. He said he was disappointed in the work and hopes his son, Dave, learns from it but I don't know what he'll learn since they kept all the money. I'm left frustrated and disappointed that they so utterly refused to stand behind their work. The floors were clearly more of a challenge than they expected and, instead if working with us to give more time, they did a slipshod job and left us to deal with it. Dave made a big deal about wanting us to be satisfied enough to leave a 5 star review, but we just can't.
