Strolling around 5th avenue, we noticed this ice cream and cupcake shop open at night. We went in and the shopped was very cute! I was excited to try their items. We ordered 2 cupcakes and 2 cups of 1 scoop ice creams. The total was almost $30 which is shocking. The cupcakes were beautifully made but taste gets a 0. We tried two different flavors. We both felt like there wasn't enough sugar and it was dry. We didn't even finish our cupcakes. Ice cream was good. They charged me for a topping - around $2 I believe for about 6 pieces of gummy bears. Overpriced. Definitely would have skipped this. read more

I'm not sure why this place is not so well rated. We got the tiramisu and the chocolate mudslide cupcakes, and the cakes were moist while the frosting was flavorful but not overly sweet. We want to come back to get more for our trip back to Orlando. Part 2: we did come back and tried red velvet, brown sugar caramel, vanilla chocolate, dark chocolate, raspberry cheesecake and butterfinger. My favorites were raspberry cheesecake and dark chocolate but they were all good. My least favorite was the butterfinger. We also got the pineapple dole whip ice cream and it was refreshing as an offset against the cupcakes. The ice cream is homemade but made by another company. There's a sign to get a free cupcake if you get ice cream and leave a review. However, you have to do this day of to get it. They are pricey though for a small size but not harrowing for me given I'm used to NYC prices. read more

My friend and I came here after dinner for some ice cream. We got there at the perfect time around 9pm because after we got ice cream they got so busy. Really cute place, there's sitting inside and outside. I did just a single scoop of chocolate in a cake cone and my friend did a scoop of strawberry and a scoop of vanilla/peanut butter mix which was yummy. Dry, dry, dry..... I ate the driest cupcake of my life here. Stopped in for a little dessert after having dinner across the street. Ordered the carrot cake cupcake, and the only positive was that the sprinkles were the most fun part about it. Cake was so very DRY! Felt like it had been sitting for days in the case. The cake and frosting were both very hard, did not taste fresh at all. I'd say skip this spot, have dessert somewhere else. The place was completely empty. We zeroed in on two flavors, peach cobbler and tiramisu. Both cupcake bases were very moist. The peach cupcake was very impressive with fresh peaches used throughout. The salted caramel had such a light and buttery icing on the top drizzled in caramel. A few of the cupcakes had frosting that was a little too thick and sweet for me. The carrot cake is the one that stands out in my mind when I say this. The frosting was just a little too sugary. It was missing that cream cheese flavor that I like in carrot cake. I visited here on this past Tuesday when visiting Naples. The staff was friendly. I ordered three cupcakes... the vanilla cupcake with strawberry icing, the red velvet and the chocolate cupcake with the chocolate ganache icing. The one with the strawberry icing did not wow me. It was ok but it wasn't quite what I was anticipating. I thought the red velvet cupcake was good. The chocolate one with the ganache icing was by far my favorite. That was a delicious cupcake and it had been recommended by one of the staff. So glad I tried the chocolate one. Although the staff recommended putting the cupcakes in the freezer if they couldn't be eaten that day, I actually ended up leaving two of mine at room temperature and they were fine up to two days after. I know that other reviewers had issues with their cupcakes losing moisture after the first day and maybe that depends on the cupcake flavor. read more

The business model is crisp and the product delivery is too. In the last year, two friends collaborated with intent of opening four locations for sale of cupcakes. The Fifth Avenue location is really attractive, with robin egg blue walls, lucite chairs, and brushed stainless cafe tables. Large scale photos on the wall show several individual cupcakes, as well as the promotional endorsement of TV's "cake boss." I appreciated the good sense these "sweet" ladies showed in bringing a recognizable, and long-time successful, establshed brand into the store. Along with a list of cupcakes, Grace & Shelly sells locally made Royal Scoop ice cream. About those cupcakes (!) They are moist and flavorful. I would say that the size is the same as baking cups you would use at home. The baker here does not over pour the batter, so the cupcakes all uniformly fit into their papers. Then, icing on top is about 2/3 the height of the cake. I loved the treat. I had a coffee, and stumbled on one small detail to mar the experience. Quality baked goods deserves quality drink. Coffee was good, but the only creamer available was milk requested from the kitchen, or dreadful pre-packaged thimbles of Coffee Mate. I will go back, however.
