The business, Like Family Home Care, I was approached by the owner, Adam, who conducted an assessment of my home. He demonstrated exceptional attentiveness to my needs, which immediately impressed me. He was very experienced. I was subsequently assigned to five caregivers, with Kelsey being the most present. Kelsey is exceptionally caring and passionate about her work, prioritizing the well-being of her clients. She effectively assisted me with showering, dressing, mobility, and transfers. Kelsey gained valuable experience in cleaning and dressing my wound, as well as helping with my daily chores, including cooking, laundry, and cleaning my home. I highly recommend Kelsey. All the caregivers provided exceptional support throughout my recovery. Adam and Amber were particularly helpful in every situation. Met with the owner Traci, and it seems great service trickles down. They were able to start service at the last minute and were extremely accommodating. Traci was also helpful with referring various other services for my aging parents such as maid service and medication management. While we will continue to use their service going forward, I would not hesitate in the slightest to recommend them to friends and family. She misrepresented herself and the company also by saying we have doctors or I can come out! Anytime!! Well it Never Happened.. even when my 55 yr old husband could Not breathe either in 2 sitiations! Promises. NOT!!!! I really like the Southland home care.. just Not the "Pallative" side of it.. especially Heather NP!!! Never Ever Again!!! She destroyed it for us!!!

They did not properly treat acute constipation, did not treat a fungal sore on his hip, did not treat him for a nasty sore on his heel, and furthermore, did not inform me of it. For all three problems, I had to step in and rattle them into action. Otherwise, these issues would remain unaddressed. It appears they are just waiting for him to die untreated.

From day one, Lauren was warm, kind, and totally on top of everything. What stood out the most was how personal and thoughtful she was. She didn't just show up, do her job, and leave--she took the time to really get to know my aunt. She treated her like a person, not just a patient. My aunt lit up whenever Lauren came around, and that meant the world to us. Lauren was incredibly patient and clear when explaining things, which helped us feel less overwhelmed. She answered every question we had (sometimes more than once!) and never made us feel like we were bothering her. Since we started in October, my father, who lives with dementia and aphasia, has had eleven different caregivers: Mel, Mary, Nabila, Jackie, Martin, Rosie, Autumn, Kathy, Andrea, Stacey, and Sharon. This constant rotation is especially confusing for someone with dementia, and I've had to personally meet with each new caregiver to explain how to communicate with him and what activities he enjoys. Over the course of ten months, some caregivers were kind, while others were outright unkind. I saw no real signs of specialized dementia training. Often, during the three-hour visits we paid for, they would simply let him sleep rather than engaging him in meaningful activities. UPDATE: My father went into the hospital and I texted Amanda at 5:10pm to let them know he needs services canceled for SUNDAY. Because it was 10 minutes after hours they still charged him $120 for the day. I'm done
