My mother was diagnosed with frontotemperal dementia a few years ago. In December she took a turn for the worse and was not able to safely live at home with my father. I asked Adam if he had any assisted living homes that could care for my mother. Adam took time to listen to our family's needs and our mother's needs and set up some homes to look at. We were grateful for the time he spent driving and meeting us at several different homes of different sizes and areas of the east valley. On September 19, 2025, I underwent a significant foot surgery that necessitated the assistance of a caregiver. During my recovery, I was unable to bear weight on my foot and required support with balance. Daily activities, such as household chores, showering, and other essential tasks, were challenging for me. I had never relied on anyone, particularly a stranger, and was understandably apprehensive about this situation. The business, Like Family Home Care, I was approached by the owner, Adam, who conducted an assessment of my home. He demonstrated exceptional attentiveness to my needs, which immediately impressed me. He was very experienced. I was subsequently assigned to five caregivers, with Kelsey being the most present. Kelsey is exceptionally caring and passionate about her work, prioritizing the well-being of her clients. She effectively assisted me with showering, dressing, mobility, and transfers. Kelsey gained valuable experience in cleaning and dressing my wound, as well as helping with my daily chores, including cooking, laundry, and cleaning my home. I highly recommend Kelsey. All the caregivers provided exceptional support throughout my recovery. Adam and Amber were particularly helpful in every situation. I wholeheartedly recommend their service to anyone in need of personal care assistance. Almost 2 years ago, my father broke his hip at home and (at the same time) I found out, through testing, that my mother has Alzheimer's. My father was eventually sent to a skilled nursing facility for rehab, but I knew that once he was released, he would need assistance at home to shower and get around. My mother would not be able to effectively assist my father because of her dementia. So I made several calls to care giving companies and finally spoke with Adam at Like Family. From the moment I spoke with him, I was impressed. Adam met with my parents, me and my aunt (who moved in to care for my mother) and explained that a caregiver would come over for 4 hours per day to assist my father with daily duties. There was a caregiver or two that didn't mesh well with my father's personality or environment, but two women really gave their all to caring for my father-Vicki and Karen. Both Vicki and Karen had to deal with my father's unwillingness to be helpful and his desire to verbally fight with his dementia ridden wife constantly. They both dealt with a pretty terrible situation very well. I'm so thankful both Vicki and Karen were so forgiving of my parent's situation. Adam also stepped in when my father became too difficult to manage and was fantastically cooperative. Adam and his staff have started a company that I know will provide a service that will become more and more popular, as the Baby Boomers age and need assistance, but understandably don't want to move into a nursing facility. We had a tough situation with my mom who is partially paralyzed testing positive for Covid and her normal caregiver with another agency not being able to come help her. On a Saturday, we were desperately scrambling to find help for her. We were praying for angels to help us. We found two! One is Adam, the owner of Like Family Home Care and the other is my mom's new vaccinated caregiver. They have both gone WAY above and beyond our expectations. Adam and management are known around the valley for how well they take care of their clients; well their staff is also treated "like family". I am a nursing student- and it was important to me to work for a company that treats their patients with respect and dignity. This is a problem in every home care business and not just this one. Please secure your valuables for any service, when the individual will be unsupervised. Get a nanny cam, a safe and document everything and where they are. Take pictures of the items and their location. We had a situation with our experience, but again, this affects all businesses, not just this one. Situation aside, the work performed had been above exceptional. I am just writing the situation to make individuals aware. This is not intended to be negative towards this business. I do not know how to rate it. Do the actions of one reflect the actions of the rest? I do not know. There is only so much one can do. It is really up to the home to be secure and documented. read more
