We came by for lunch on a weekday & were seated right away. Chips, salsa & a menu came right to the table & among other items we ordered the Gollo Burro and a Chile Relleno. The Gollo Burro delivers great on taste but is weak in value -- it could be bigger for the price paid. In a proper meal we'd want two of what we got. The relleno was a bit of a disappointment, with the chile not sufficiently roasted for a smooth mouthfeel. Rice & beans were serviceable as was the table salsa. The dining room was comfortable, though our table seemed a few inches taller than necessary. Service was on point throughout. Pay cash to avoid a 3% card fee. We'll give Casa Reynoso's other dishes a try sometime soon, but the prices will surely keep us from awarding a top rating. read more

In my quest to try new restaurants in the area, Yelp reviews led me to Casa Reynoso, as did some Instagram reels. The hype was pretty heavy and I needed to see what the excitement was about. Sadly, I was disappointed. It's rare when a top rated place on Yelp lets me down, but this was one of those times. The location was fine, and it was relatively crowded for a late evening. I was seated promptly and had plenty of time to look at what others were eating even though I knew my first order would be a burrito which is my go-to test meal. The chips and salsa were good. The salsa was a bit bland, but great consistency and the chips were fresh. I don't know if they make them or not, but they were fine. The burrito was good but not great. I'm not even sure I remember enough about it to give much detail because it simply didn't stand out. Please note - most reviews commend on their specialty burrito made with green salsa and more so it's very very possible the specialty is what gets the great reviews. That wasn't my experience. The ambiance was nice, the server was great but in an area with literally hundreds of options, this just didn't make the cut for a frequent experience with me. read more

I ordered one red chile beef enchilada, one chicken enchilada with green sauce, and a side of beans and rice. The food was absolutely disgusting. The meat in both enchiladas tasted awful, and to make matters worse, the meat wasn't even inside the enchiladas. It was just thrown on top of the tortillas. Last time I checked, enchiladas are supposed to have the filling rolled inside them. The service was just as bad as the food. We waited about 40 minutes to just get our food, and it took forever for anyone to even come take our order. The restaurant wasn't busy enough to justify such terrible service. Once the food finally arrived, no one checked on us, offered refills, or asked if we needed anything. I honestly can't think of a single positive thing to say about the experience. Save your money, save your time, and eat literally anywhere else. read more

We waited about 30 minutes (which is how long they said it would be) before being seated even though it looked like plenty of tables were open. I'm guessing they didn't have enough staff working? We were brought chips and salsa right away and it was amazing! A little spicy but not too bad I'm a pretty big baby with spicy stuff. Our server was friendly and the food came out very quickly. It wasn't the best Mexican food ever but it was good and the prices are reasonable. It truly feels like you're enjoying a sitdown meal at a homemade restaurant, something that appears to be someone's house. It felt very cozy and comforting. Like you were eating a meal at a friend's house or a long lost relative. When it comes to the options of food, there is something for everyone. I really enjoyed the specialty platters that give you an option of enchilada, burrito, taco, or even Chile Rillenos. As of lately, there are a lot of people on the Internet, saying that this is the most authentic food in Tempe Arizona! As far as authenticity goes, the flavor is definitely there. I highly recommend stopping by and trying it for yourself! It's an awesome place to grab food with a friend or even family members. Be ready to eat! Came here for a work lunch a few weeks back. Had a good meal! Service was great, place was cozy. For food, I went with a #5 which was an enchilada, a taco and a red mixed burrito. Their combos come with the entrees alone, and you can upgrade with rice and beans. I just went with the entrees. Food was tasty! Great beef taco, cheesy enchilada, and a pretty solid knife and fork burrito. Everyone else enjoyed their food, too. My husband and I have been going to this fabulous restaurant for YEARS!! My husband introduced this restaurant to me in high school and said this was the best Mexican restaurant he's been to; his family has been going to this restaurant his entire life. The original one opened in Globe-Miami. I was skeptical at first because there are not many great restaurants with true Mexican food; my family is from New Mexico so I am completely biased and grew up eating my abuelas food. I am so glad that this restaurant did not disappoint! The staff is very welcoming and always greets everyone as well as treating everyone with respect. The quality of food has always been satisfactory and the restaurant itself gives off a true authentic atmosphere!! Our experiences are always pleasant and the service is very fast with fresh food. First time trying it and it was crispy, cheeses, and the green chile was soft --- definitely recommend for appetizer. The salsa had a little kick to it, which was perfect. Stopped in for lunch during the week. Joint was fairly crowded. Menu covers a lot of the familiar dishes. Service was fast and friendly. The strip center might need updating, but the restaurant itself has been updated. A clean, refreshed feel inside. I opted to a standard combination plate - enchilada, tostada, rice and beans. This was a recommendation from a friend and was a really great spot for my day trip up to Phoenix! I got the Red Pork Tamale and the Green Chile (Green Corn) Tamale, along with a side of rice. The portions were great for the price point and the food was all delicious. It's a very cozy spot and luckily I was able to get a table right before the lunch rush. A friend recommended this restaurant and so we stopped in. It is kind of hidden in the back corner or the strip mall, but is very nice inside. Everything is clean and fresh and inviting. Service was excellent and the food was good. Pretty typical Mexican fare. Good flavor. The beef taco was very good with shredded beef and the tortilla fried perfectly. If you're hungry, don't eat here. Everyone and everything is slow. Empty tables throughout the restaurant and couldn't get seated for 20 minutes. Hostess was distracted and rude. Getting food was another 40 minutes once seated. Server was pleasant and brought samples of green chile to help us figure out what to order. Machaca beef tacos were flavorful! The pork green chile was the wrong choice for a chimichanga filling - too wet but good flavor. Should've ordered the green chile bowl with tortillas on the side. Corn chips and salsa are mediocre and didn't take our mind off the lengthy wait for our meals. Sopapillas were yummy but only if you have to have something sweet. This place is SO GOOD!!! First, we were greeted by younger gentleman who was new (might have been his first day) and he brought us out two large margaritas- they came in a normal glass but were perfect size for us (you can order a smaller one). And we enjoyed some guacamole to start. The chips and salsa at the table were really tasty too; the chips tasted fresh and they were warm. It was wonderful. We each ordered plates - mine with a chile relleno and an enchilada and hers with a chile relleno and a burrito. Both were SO GOOD. They came with rice and beans and a bit of shredded lettuce, cheese, and tomatoes. It tasted like home style Mexican and my friend coming from Milwaukee loved it because they don't have authentic flavored Mexican over there. The music was great, it was a nice mix of "oldie" Mexican and also some newer Jams, I loved it. And the art and decor was lovely, the Christmas tree was still up and so beautiful on the way out, we took a cute picture. Overall, I enjoyed Casa Reynoso quite a bit. When i heard about Casa Reynoso (same food as La Casita in Globe) about 10 years ago i was sooo happy i didnt have to drive to Globe to get some good Mexican food AHAH!! Took 45 minutes from our resort in Scottsdale. We left at 4:15pm. Why did we come at the height of rush hour? Cuz it was due to a friend's recommendation who's a local. Otherwise I don't think we woulda make the trek. We were a party of twelve. All must be present before we could be seated. A huge shout out - 5 stars for Alisa, our server. She initiated "separate checks" request. Six couples who weren't even sitting side by side as we were separated by girls one side and boys on the other. She tracked our orders using our names of each couple. And had logical answers when we questioned the amounts as we each got our bill. As for the food - both hubby & I ordered the gollo burro as did four others in our group. The gollo burro burrito being voted #1 on the menu. Alisa suggested we order it wet with melted cheese on top. I cut mine in half knowing I was only going to eat half. The half I ate there were only two tiny chunks of pork. (This a.m. I had the other half. Two chunks of pork). And without the melted cheese the burrito would have been kind of dry. So much for the number one voted burrito. Fortunately I had a Modelo to go with it. For the table - we shared the cheese crisp and the green chile pork crisp. It's an open faced quesadilla. Yummy. It was served on pizza platters. Hot cheesy and very crispy. Others in our group ordered various entrees. Overall the dining experience was nice because of the crowd I was with. I don't plan to make the trek again. UNfortunately- thought it was a good idea to do a takeaway on a Friday :/ The host was very slammed & a little discombobulated by the busy hour. No chips & salsa offered in my takeaway either. I waited over 30minutes -as did most people waiting to be seated. The food was tasty, but service-wise not worth the lonnng wait.
