Worst school ever!!! Ms. Carrol is a very stubborn woman, "she knows everything" since she has run…read morethe school for 40 years. If you ask me it is time for the school to close. She is constantly yelling at the children. Tells the parents that she will work with each student individually but does NOT (there are only a total of 8 students and about 5 teachers) but yet my daughter has yet to learn a single thing in the month that she has been there. She learned so much more at her other school. Ms. Carrol also told my daughter she is not smart and now she comes home saying "mommy I'm not smart, with my numbers" my daughter has yet to learn a single thing there. her previous school taught her the number one to six, and has yet to learn seven at this school. She just comes home feeling dumb like she can not learn, because of this miserable woman.

I was fortunate enough to meet Mrs. Gordon several years ago. My daughter, who is now in Third…read moreGrade, attended! She had such a wonderful experience. She learned far more than required to start Kindergarten; letters, numbers, colors, shapes, name recognition and the list goes on! The class sizes are very small, every child is known by name. Spanish is taught several times a week. Breakfast is family style and lunches are a time to visit and enjoy friends company. The toys are older, like the toys I grew up with. Not a bunch of blinking lights, stuff to engage the imagination! Children are taught to behave. I prefer things to be more strict because my kids are coddled so much at home. Its a good balance for my family. They have their own playground. Oh! My kiddo was even in the Newspaper! All of the teachers are older, its like sending them to Grandmas. (Grandma is loving but firm!) The children will emerge from Oaklane Academy as wholesome, well rounded learners. Beings that we are in a small town, I still see the kids my daughter went to school with, they are all very bright and respectful. These are not the kids you see throwing tantrums and having disciplinary issues. Mrs. Gordon had a pretty full field trip schedule in the summers as well. We love it so much that my three year old twins just started this week!

So it's been a while since my initial review, and there have been changes many amazing, some…read moredisheartening . I now have children in the Elementary and one entering the High School. The Good Pinecrest still provides an exceptional academic program. I've had very open and transparent interaction with teachers and staff (family oriented). Looking at the schools data/ scores and the progress of my own children, I can attest to the success they have in providing an educational experience that can not be matched by the Public School System. It is rigorous and requires students do the work. Success at Pinecrest is dependent on what students and parents put in. Infinite Campus is updated and I appreciate being able to see what they are working on and when they will be assessed. It helps me keep track of my kids assignments and provide guidance as needed. If your student needs help, just ask. They have a system of support that is very student centered. The school is modern and progressive. They expose students to the technological advances needed to prepare them to be competitive as they enter college and workforce. Additionally they frequently have Guest Speakers, various Community Organizations, Events (very active PTA), Field Trips, all coveted opportunities that gives students exposure to every thing from Entrepreneurship, Career Exploration,The Arts, Community Building the list goes on. The programs for Middle School and extracurricular activities offered are top tier in my opinion. I am supper excited by the addition of the High School Career and College Tracks offered to the students. Pinecrest covering the majority of associated cost. Leaving High School with a Diploma, Certification or degree/ credits is a valuable opportunity. The Bad As Pinecrest has expanded there has been a very noticeable change in negative student behaviors. Bullying, Racism, and Mental Healthl issues have marred the appeal of the school. These issues in my experiences unfortunately have not been limited to students. However, when I've reached out I have almost immediately response and have recieved swift action. Once again, parental involvement is needed in addressing these issues and proactively seeking meaningful resolutions. I also feel Pinecrest needs to revamp how they set and enforce expectations when it comes to behavior. Most students there appreciate all that the achool offers. They come in ready to learn and engage in all the benefits the school provides. However, there are some that disrespect the learning environment continuously contributing little to the overall environment of the school. This is simply not acceptable. It does not go with the core values and goals of the school. More needs to be done to support the teachers in the classroom so that they can teach without distractions. Overall, our time at Pinecrest Cadence has been good. While like any other school there are issues, the overall value provided is still exceptional. I hope that as the school continues to grow they continue putting student success at the healm. Creating an environment where all students feel seen and valued.

The nurse doesn't even try to call your parents. The teachers are rude as hell, except for like two. Don't sign your kid up here, you're better off homeschooling.

In terms of academics, we are overjoyed with how much hands on learning he is doing in his own classroom and the specialty classes. Most days he comes home with marker, paint, and glue on his uniform -- a sure sign of a great day. The curriculum challenges and interests him and he's encouraged to use his imagination. The ratio of teachers to students is wonderful. When he needs help a teacher is available to guide him. But what really makes this school special is the people. From the moment you walk in you are met with smiling faces, a friendly greeting, the feeling you and your kid belongs. You can see that the teachers and the administrators are happy to be there and that feeling extends to the kids. To see my son skipping in and out of school is magical. The school becomes part of your child's and your community. There are lots of special days and activities to get the kids excited to be a part of something. If you are seeking a great education, a place your child will feel safe, and most importantly a place your child will be happy give this school a look.

Our family has been with Merryhill, now, for two years beginning with Mrs. Bailey in PreK (such an amazing teacher), Mrs. Zellis in TK (a wonderful teacher who created a family environment in her class while still building academic skills needed for kindergarten), and now with the lovely and strong academic classroom environment that Mrs. Toranzo and her colleague Mrs. Jordan have created this year. In addition the STEM teacher, Mrs. Anderson, and the Spanish teacher are excellent. Finally, Ms. Kimberlee is so welcoming and so supportive of all the parents each day. It's a great place and I highly recommend it.
