After having 2 daughters at St. Viator one from Pre-K to 8th grade and the other from Pre-K to 7th grade, I realized that the education there was lacking to say the least. Finding St. Gabriel Catholic School was the best option for my last Daughter. Starting her from kindergarten till today in 6th grade, she is 2 years ahead of St. Viator students and other Clark County Schools since they teach Core Knowledge NOT Common Core like all the other schools. The education and interaction with the students is the best since the class sizes are less than 22 students to a class. Love everything about this school. Few months ago we were searching for a another private school for my son and daughter. They were both enrolled at challenger school, for some reason i did not like it as much in there, it wasn't balance due to the fact that student were given so much work to the point that instead of my kids to love school at their age they were starting to hate it. Then i came across SGCS and spoke to Brother Jude, i was really amaze of how detailed he explained everything to me and he was very patience. So you know what we did next we enrolled our kids here. So far so good. I love the teachers and staffs here they are very professional and you can see they love to teach. One of the biggest thing i really like here is they really DO NOT TOLERATE BULLYING here. Yes they do not. My son was new so of-course you would expect little bullying here and there. But as soon as i brought this to their attention it was handled very well. Who wants their kids to be bullied? Nobody right. So far still 5 star experience for us but will definitely keep updating as years goes by. Keep it guys. read more

We love St. Gabriel Catholic School. This was the absolute BEST choice. I feel blessed that I found St. Gabriel's School and that my 2 daughters have the privilege of attending. My daughters are currently in 3rd and 5th grade and have been attending St. Gabriel since Kindergarten. I'm very pleased with the curriculum, teachers, and school support staff. Not only are my daughters receiving a top notch education but they are also being taught to have a moral compass. My son attended this school from kindergarten to about 2 months into 4th grade this year. It started off wonderful, but as the years progressed and the staff turnover rate was excessive (3 principal's in 4 1/2 years) I quickly realized that this school has major administrative problems. My son started to dislike school in 3rd grade and they did everything not to help. I made the decision to change schools (to another private school) in October and it was the best decision I've ever made. I went from having a 4th grader failing all of his core subjects to now almost getting straight A's. Don't let the small class sizes fool you, do you due diligence before enrolling your child at this awful school. read more

We moved to Vegas in October of 2017 from Connecticut and my daughter transferred from a catholic school there to St Gabriel. I was worried at first but, St Gabriel curriculum, teachers, staff, clergy ... all are wonderful and I am so grateful I found this school. Coming from a school that did not teach common core, I love our Core Knowledge curriculum and all of our subjects coincide. My daughter is doing geometry and algebra in 3rd grade. I am so glad I found St Gabriel's. This school is wonderful. I looked at quite a few schools before choosing St Gabriel's and I am happy that I did. The entire staff are great! The curriculum is great my daughter is learning so much. People are amazed at how much she knows when they talk to her and I can attribute that to what she is learning at school. I started at this school when my daughter was in the first grade. My daughters kindergarten year started off at a local public school in Vegas and then across the country and back to Vegas again. Needless to say I knew going from that to a catholic school with this curriculum wasn't going to be easy. However; as much as it took hard work the teachers have been nothing but supportive and helpful to guide us on the exact areas where improvement can be made or retention is more helpful. Every teacher we have had has been warm and makes my child never want to leave school because she just wants to learn. I can't thank this school enough for helping build my daughters confidence and guide her in faith but to become her own person. Even last year when I had a major surgery the faculty, staff and families rallied around my family as it was right before the holidays making sure we had meals and helped my daughter stay distracted so she wouldn't be so nervous the day of the surgery. It's rare to find a school community like that. read more

I absolutely cannot say enough wonderful things about Saint Gabriel Catholic School! We are so very thankful for the administration, staff, clergy, and volunteers that have made this year so incredible. Our son is in Kindergarten and his teacher, Mrs. Johns, has been an amazing educator and role model. I'm constantly blown away by the breadth of information that our kid is coming home with. In addition to his regular curriculum, he also has PE, art, Spanish, nutrition, and music classes. It's really refreshing to see a school that recognizes the importance of a well rounded education. From day one, we have been accepted with open arms and truly made to feel like a part of the Saint Gabriel family. The support and camaraderie is outstanding. Mr. Burt, the fantastic music teacher and choir director, was able to have the school choir invited to sing the National Anthem at the 51s game this past weekend. SGCS came out in full force and filled an entire section. It was so terrific to see that level of support for the choir. The Principal, Ms. Bellinger is one of the most incredible women, and leaders, that I've ever known. She absolutely goes out of her way to make each and every child and parent feel listened to and cared for. In addition to all of her hard work at school, Ms. Bellinger has organized and encouraged students, parents, and faculty to volunteer with Catholic Worker several times a month. It's wonderful to see the children doing homeless outreach and exhibiting Christ-like behavior. I've really been impressed by how much everyone at this school truly lives their Catholic faith in their daily lives. The education at Saint Gabriel is unparalleled and the children are given so many opportunities to shine. Several students even took home ribbons from the UNLV science fair! We've really enjoyed all of the great events that have been planned by the HSA. It's so great to see how many parents are involved in the school and the events. We are so thankful to everyone at SGCS for making this year so wonderful! Saint Gabriel Catholic School isn't just a school, it's a family. read more

I have three kids in the Catholic school system...one now off to college, one in high school and my youngest here at St. Gabriel in fourth grade. I moved him from another school in hopes of getting him better prepared for high school. Our experience has been more than expected. I truly did not know my son's academic capabilities until his first year at St. Gabriel. The classroom is an environment where discussion is expected and not participating or having input is not an option. The staff and teachers practice kindness and support the students interests outside of school whether sports, art, music, etc. Making the decision to take my child from a school he was in since Pre-K to St. Gabriel was certainly not easy, but the result has been the best thing we could have done for him! read more

I can not say enough about this tremendous school. My son will be attending in the fall for his 3rd year; he'll be going into 4th grade. His teachers, the curriculum, the wonderful principal and all of the extraordinary staff; not to mention the lovely community of students and families, have been so kind from day one. This last year was particularly awesome. I am so grateful to my son's 3rd Grade teacher for her dedication and excellence - she made learning an adventure. We feel so lucky to have become a part of this community. I am a picky mom - the type to have researched every baby stroller and educational philosophy at the preschool age, and by far, St. Gabriel Catholic School continues to surpass my checkpoints. Please do your research prior to enrolling your children. The school is not recognized by the diocese of Las Vegas. They do teach the students about God, but not exactly is it a faith based curriculum. The school is more of a private school than it is a Catholic school. read more

My daughter has been attending this school for two years. The teachers are a dream come true. They are attentive with parents and students and engage children while teaching. We are very involved in the school and love the community/family environment. I know most families by first name. The Principal and priest know all families by name. The security on staff are wonderful. I don't worry about her safety when I drop her off each day. The school offers after school programs such as dance, band and choir and chess club. Morning announcements begin each day with messages of faith and christ-like behavior. The children are taught to teach others with respect and are well disciplined. This year they will offer their first summer camp and the preschool will open soon. It is exciting to see this young school grow and the talent that has been brought in to educate the students is exceptional. read more

My wife and I toured this school for our two children. We got a very good first impression of the facilities, (excellent tour by Brother Jude). We were sold on it, we paid for registration and assessments, and that is where it all started going down hill. I cannot speak for the teachers, but the administration staff at this school is really bad, including the principal who was never available to explain/advice us on our 4 year old daughter low score on her assessment. We had to call many times, left messages each time and nobody cared. The preschool building was not ready, we could not get updates. They told us that our daughter scored too low to be admitted,(they waited over a month and only told us because we pushed them) even though we were told by 2 other people that the test would not disqualify anyone. And we just wasted a lot of time (and money) hoping that somebody would call us back. With such important decision, and the number of options, we decided to find another school, I would not send my children here even it was free. I am happy I discovered this before my children started attending this school. Watch out for the VIP treatment before you become a customer, and the DMV treatment after you are one. read more
