I was extremely unhappy with the walk in clinic today. Saw a Nurse Practitioner who I previously believed had great bedside manner...well I found one who was horrible!! Didn't speak when she came in, obviously didn't look at my child's chart for her age because she kept asking her things and talking in medical language to her!! I as her mother expected to be talked to and I had to consistently answer the questions my child had no clue about. She still didn't get the hint! Rude, inept Nurse Practitioner that gives the entire group a bad flavor. So sad for you A.D...I know they teach bedside manner in FNP school!! read more

Horrible place. 3 years ago on a Thursday, went in for a physical to get a refill of anti-depressant (and Synthroid, which I was put on in 1993 by my Gynecologist for sub-clinical hypo-thyroidism). Son called that night from Denton to say their first child was dying in the womb at 7 mos gestation. I sped there Friday morning, in 4 hrs instead of the usual 5. Son told me that the doc would be observing both baby/mom over the weekend, wanting to keep the baby in-utero as long as possible to ensure that she would survive birth as she had stopped growing at 5mos gestation. Rushed home Saturday afternoon to get my meds. From Friday morning til Monday morning I had called the pharmacy, who had not received the prescription, and the doc's nurse who told me it had been sent. Desperate to get my meds so I could go back to Denton, I called the doc office again around NOON on Monday after being told AGAIN it was not at the pharmacy. I asked the very young/blonde nurse that I'd seen at the office where she was sending the script, to which she replied, "Stanton". I live in Lubbock, I told her, and asked why in the world had she not checked this b/f, considering how many times I'd called since Friday a.m. Upset with the impending possible death of the both child and mother, and wanting to get back down to Denton, I was angry with her. Not being mature enough to offer to correct the problem, she started crying. The doc got online and bawled me out for upsetting his nurse, telling me he was discharging me. OK, but I desperately needed the meds that I had come in for, telling him why. He became even more angry with me while he argued that I didn't need the thyroid replacement despite my telling him I'd been on it since 1993. He gave me 2 weeks supply of both (although I begged for more), and told me very angrily and loudly "Next time! Don't let your scripts run out!! " (If he'd read his chart, he would see that I've had Celiac Disease for the past 15 years, with days where the ceiling could fall on me while lying in fetal position on the couch and I just wouldn't care b/c of the extreme malaise b/c of this advanced disease.) Son called Monday morning to say that d-i-l was told to lie flat on her back for 48 hrs in hospital w/o moving, with an inutero-IV inserted into the baby's toe. Late Tuesday night the baby was born. So small after 2 weeks in the hospital, they had to use doll clothes that neighbors/friends brought over. Latest: Last year, my knee popped out (d/t an old skating injury)one afternoon. I sat on the floor until husband came home at 5p. We drove around for 3 hrs trying to find a clinic open, or that would take our insurance. The last place was Grace Clinic. After being wheeled in by wh/ch, I was told that I was BANNED from the entire clinic!! That's how wonderful that doc is....who happened to be the Chief of Staff at the time. /s NOTE: I began taking a liquid thyroid replacement some months later that I buy from Amazon, and the body aches and stiff neck I had went away. I thought I had arthritis until I began the supplement. I guess the Chief of Staff, or whatever he was called, doesn't know as much as he thinks. Avoid Grace Clinic at all costs. read more

Do not waste your money or time going here. The front desk people are rude. They didn't attempt to explain anything to me before asking me to sign forms. And then I went for a preventative checkup - which should have been fully covered. Well I asked the doctor 1 question during my visit, and months later get a bill just for asking that question. Very displeased with Grace clinic. I saw a doctor there for aa annual check up covered 100% as preventative care under my insurance. I was sent to get lab work done. 6 weeks later i received a bill for 400+ $ for that lab !!!!? I was told that the lab service was part of the "Grace Hospital" and therefore i owed this large sum. If you have a college student at Texas Tech or in Lubbock DO NOT SEND THEM HERE go over to Lubbock Family Medicine because you will see an actual REAL doctor that will listen and HELP your child feel better. The staff at GRACE CLINIC for the walk-in are condescending physician assistants that do not advocate or take the time to listen to patients. If you have a medical condition they have treated previously with failure and you get it every year seasonally, like Bronchitis, they will prescribe the same medicine knowing that the results for you are not going to work. You can tell them that medication does not work for you and they will laugh and tell you it works for everyone else. RUN, RUN out the door. Twice my son has ended up in the hospital because these under educated idiotic PA's thinks they are a doctor and have their own GOD complex. They do not not listen. They follow a script and nothing more. Further when your child hurts so bad they are crying at 22 (AND THEY NEVER CRY, NEVER) from the coughing pain where blood is actually coming up you cough so hard and they REFUSE to give him any type of Codeine medication that would ease his pain and/or let him sleep. Here we will give you a steroid, we will give you a Z-Pak and these stupid yellow gel pills that don't work for your cough (by the way, they don't work for me either but my doctor actually has alternatives for me) I have witnessed this today myself!! Thankfully I work and I have money and I am able to take him elsewhere because I am in town this weekend BUT THESE people DO NOT LISTEN and will treat your student like a child and not an ADULT. They expect you to just SUCK it up buttercup. Medications are available to help patients so they can rest and allow them to heal instead of the archaic practice of grin and bear it!! Maybe because it's Lubbock and its full of druggies that just try to get meds but this place, this place is BROKEN and JADED and do not care about the "consumer" who does the right things, needs a little help because they are sick but they care they don't step over the line of protocol and probably keep a notch on their clipboard for everyone they refuse medication. GRACE CLINIC IS A JOKE as far as the nurse practitioners go in the walk in clinic. DON"T GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will be tweeting. I will be writing letters. I will notify the greek community of parents and TT parent association so someone else's student does not have to suffer the indignity and humiliation of this medical practice. I would give this place -1 stars if I could. This clinic overall is ok but the Doctor Dora is HORRIBLE. After my first appointment she wrote me a prescription and said to come back in 1 month. So I went to Walgreens to pick up my prescription and they said it was never ordered so they had to call her and get it ordered (red flag number one). So today I went back for my one month follow up and when I got in there Dr. Dora said how we weren't supposed to be here because we weren't supposed to comeback until 3 months even though she said 1 month and only wrote my prescription for one month! She made me feel like an idiot for coming and we were still charged a $55 co-pay for her mistake. She blamed the prescription on Walgreens and the wrong follow up on us and I feel she is the most rude and unprofessional doctor I have ever met. My health concerns are still unsolved and I feel like she has done nothing for me and hasn't even made any effort to find out how to figure out what is wrong with me. Please take my advice and do not go to her because she has robbed me of my confidence in not only myself but in humanity and has robbed me of the little money I have with nothing to show for it. read more

I could give a 1/4 star I would. Horrible place. Awful from start to finish. I have been a patient of one of the providers for at least 20 years & her PA for no less than 10. I will say that my review has nothing to do with them as physicians. My review is with the lack of communication between the call center & the individual offices. For months now I have tried to make appointments for general illnesses like allergies, sinus infections, etc.. & it's impossible to make a scheduled appointment. Fine, I will be a walk in. But the past three times I've attempted to see my Dr as a walk in like I was instructed to do, I have been turned away because they had too many scheduled patients! Why wasn't I told this before I drive 45 miles & take off of work? Yesterday was the end for me. I was extremely sick & called their office, asked if I could definitely see my provider, would they be closing for lunch... asked to be certain. I arrive at 11:40 & there are 3 people in the waiting area & the receptionist tells me they are covered up with scheduled patients & will be at lunch from 12-1:30. She nonchalantly tells me I could go to the other walk in downstairs. She was no help in giving me instructions for finding the other clinic, & this place is not unlike other hospitals & clinics; it's a maze. I left frustrated, mad & very upset. I ended up at The Kingsgate walk in clinic on Quaker Ave. south of the Haverty's building. It's professional, much much cleaner, all staff & Doctors were pleasant & helpful. I waited 30 minutes & the waiting room was quite full. I loved it. Ditch Grace & go to UMC Kingsgate. read more

I do not recommend Grace Clinic to others. In fact, Grace Clinic is one of the few businesses that I specifically tell people not to go to. One specific experience led me to stop visiting Grace Clinic, but it is indicative of the consistently low service and apathy I received there - After visiting and being diagnosed with an infection I had a question because of the very rushed appointment. I called at 9am and left a voice mail for the nurse. I was called back at 5:27pm, but because I was driving- did not answer. When I pulled up to my house at 5:30 I immediately called them back - however their callback number is for the main line for Grace Clinic. I was told that I would have to call back the next morning to speak with a nurse because their office was closed. Despite a great amount of logic on my side, the receptionist refused to transfer me, refused to allow me to speak with a supervisor, and also refused to allow me to speak with someone at the walk in clinic. This is not healthcare. These kinds of practices do not help patients, and make it impossibly difficult to reach a doctor when help is needed. Long story short - you want a doctor you can actually reach, or a healthcare system that cares about you? Then do not go to Grace Clinic. read more

I have good experiences and I had bad experiences with Grace. I only had one time that I had to wait almost five hours to see my doctor. Most of the time I had to wait thirty minutes. When I first came to Grace I had great doctor visits. Now when I go I do not feel like I am taken seriously. The last time I was there I had horrible hip and back pain. I inquired about the handicap form for parking. I was told I didn't have a broken leg or was in a wheelchair. Two weeks later I had a MRI done by another doctor. Results were that I have spots on my kidneys(which can cause back pain) and I also had two disc that were causing my back pain. I also was having trouble walking for over a month. That doctor sign the form. I ran out of pain meds and wal mart and I both contacted my doctors office. It took them four weeks to refil my meds. This happens a lot with this doctors office. I also wanted to say that I have had good experiences with walk ins. I feel ignored by the doctor (staff)I been assigned too . read more

My doctor recently moved her practice to Grace Clinic. The facility is nice. You get to wait for your appointment in peace and quiet. Besides those pros, stay away. Within the past couple of weeks some issues have come up and it seems like the clinic's policies have changed. A nurse phoned my med into my pharmacy incorrectly; since I've discovered this error, I have not been able to speak with any of my doctor's actual nurses. They have this general nurse "message center" now. I have spoken with three different nurses, have had my pharmacy fax a form in, and still no correction to my prescription. One nurse insisted that my doctor has seen all my messages and has chosen not to respond. I have been a patient of hers for two years now and know that my wonderful doctor would never just "not respond" to something like this. I have no idea what's going on over there but I'm going to have find a new doctor because I cannot deal with a facility that is run so poorly. read more
