Anh and her daughter (not Erica, but a really sweet 30-something woman) were there to welcome me. They were so chatty and put me right at ease. They had masks on the whole time and I kept my mask on for the majority of the time unless they needed to maneuver without it on. I just wanted a pink hair extension put in and apparently had to make a pre-screening appointment for this first, rather than just put an extension in. I made my pre-screening appointment and had to wait 27 minutes until I was seen. The appointment took less than 5 minutes and I was told that they would have to special order it and would hopefully get the extension in by Tuesday. I reiterated that I needed this for a special event on Wednesday. The salon stylist told me that they would call me on Monday to get this ordered, delivered and set up. Needless to say, I never received follow up on this and had to scramble to get it done elsewhere. Frustrated to have wasted so much time, have to have a "pre-screening" waste of an appointment, and have no product at the end. Poor customer service experience for a first time visit. He asked me if I liked the perm, I talk about how I grew my hair out for a year and how I didn't want to keep getting fades because it was too much maintenance to go every 1-2 weeks. Other than that he doesn't talk to me which is fine because I only really want to be communicated with about my hair and haircut. Basically no consultation about my hair and goals, especially as a new client. He busted out the clippers and before I could protest all my hair is gone. He asks if the length is good afterwards, all I can say is yes? What am I supposed to say, hey can you glue my hair back on my head? I obviously didn't want it any shorter. Look, I don't tell people what to do in their own profession as I am not a hairstylist but it really should've just been some scissor work. Even with the longest guard it would've still been shorter than what I had asked for. I was just asking for layers and a trim - if that was not communicated through the photo and videos I shared then why wasn't I asked. The back isn't even "full" like he confirmed with me, it seems like he just wanted me in and out and gave me a generic short haircut I didn't ask for. It's uneven, I have long stray hairs. My hair is sticking out because he cut it short, which I didn't ask for, and when it's short it sticks out. I know my hair, that's why I didn't want it. Paid $45 for the haircut (plus tip because I'm not a jerk and I know people need to live). Could've gotten this haircut somewhere else for less. I was and still am irritated as hell because I just don't understand how it went from what I wanted to what I got. He didn't even try. And I effectively lost time spent growing my hair out and money I spent on the perm that he just cut off. This was by hair the most messed up haircut.
