I came in to get my hair blown out for a friend's wedding last weekend and it was fabulous! My hair stylist, Jesse, was very friendly and attentive and made sure my hair was styled to my liking! The price is very reasonable for a wash and blow out (~$50 before tax and tip), which is comparable or cheaper than other places that do hair for weddings. The salon itself is always very upbeat and fun! I always enjoy coming to a DryBar to get my hair done! I would definitely recommend this salon to any of my friends in the area (and beyond if they have a drybar near them!). read more

I love going to Drybar it's so nice to have someone else do your hair! I decided to go in last week and get a blowout for the holiday. Plus they had holiday movies playing so it's a nice vibe. I choose the manhattan which is a very straight style but it's easy to work with and change as the week goes on. While last week I did purchase my blowout and liquid glass treatment my best advice in addition to scheduling a blowout because everyone should treat themselves is to keep a eye out on their instagram they frequently look for hair models and you are then treated to a free/discounted blowout. read more

"Left Looking Like a Wolf, Treated Like a Nuisance" I came into Drybar expecting a quick dry style and walked out with frizz, frustration, and a hairstyle that looked like a wolf mane. I had booked a dry style, but because my hair was (their words) "only 90% dry", they flat-out refused to do it unless I paid for a full blowout. No flexibility, no courtesy -- just a hard no and a pretty dismissive tone. I agreed to the blowout just to avoid rescheduling, but in hindsight, I should've walked out right then. The stylist gave me curls that started aggressively from the roots, adding unnecessary volume and zero polish. When I asked why the curls were starting so high, she said -- without missing a beat -- "That's how a Mai Tai curl is supposed to look." Unless I missed the memo that Drybar is now offering "feral forest chic," I'm pretty sure that's not what a Mai Tai is meant to be. To top it off, both the stylist and the manager had an attitude throughout. No real effort to listen, no apology when I clearly wasn't happy -- just a vibe of don't care! ‍ Please avoid! I booked an appointment for Drybar in Edina last minute. Kind and smooth check in. I am attending a wedding and wanted a hassle-less hairstyle. I told my stylist I wanted lots of volume, hollywood style. Big blowout. The stylist was sweet, possibly new. This place has drastically gone downhill. I used to go in NYC and they had amazing stylists. This place cannot keep staff. The quality of their blowouts is 1 out of 5 stars. My blowout is frizzy and all curls came out bc the stylist kept ovebrushing my hair. None of the stylists are licensed. And they have the nerve to raise prices. Additionally, when staff are not experts and take longer they want to charge the client an extra $30 aka 50% of the blowout if it takes more than 45 minutes so 1 minute over and it costs you $30 lol. I've been a Drybar customer for 9 years and have visited locations in California, Texas, New York, and more. I have never been treated as unprofessionally as I was at the Edina location. I travel for work and have 2c/3a curly hair which is very time consuming to style on my own. To save time and energy, I use my barfly membership to get blowouts when I travel -- the average Drybar stylist spends 35-45 minutes on my hair. My Uber was late from my hotel this morning so I showed up for my 7am appointment at 7:07 (late, but within Drybar's 10 minute window). The stylist waited several minutes before coming out, sat me in the chair, and started pulling on my hair before declaring that I had thrown off her whole schedule (there were two stylists and no other clients in the salon so they easily could have done my hair) because I was 10 minutes late (I was not) and that she didn't have time to give me a "real blow out." She then refused to do my hair and continued berating me (raising her voice at me, blaming me for the situation, pulling at my hair) until I left the salon. I came back after a few minutes to ask for a refund and was denied one. I've been using Drybar long enough that this isn't enough to make me cancel my membership, but I hope the owner of the Edina salon puts her employees through some basic customer service training. I wanted to like this place because the booking process is convenient, but my experience was disappointing. I arrived on time for my 2:30 appointment, and my stylist came in after me. My hair was damp due to a work delay I would have finished drying it if I knew I'd have to wait anyway, and while the stylist agreed to finish drying it, the process felt rushed and rough--no product used until the end, lots of pulling, and my scalp was burned. There was no conversation, which I usually don't mind, but the vibe felt annoyed. I was charged for a full blowout even though only minimal drying was done, and the result was flat with no volume, far from what I expected. An extra $30 for drying your hair? What? If they would have said 'hey your hair is still wet we have to charge you for a blowout. OK, sounds good, my bad but do the actual service you're going to charge me for not just be annoyed and rip out my hair. I loooooove this drybar! I have been here several times. The stylist are always friendly and accommodating. I love the snacks they offer at the front. The place is always clean. They have the tv on placing a movie with subtitles. I highly encourage becoming a barfly. One of my favorite things is the washing sink. It moves to make you feel the most comfortable. read more

Alejandro has been my go to and always does a great job, but when he is not available the other team members step up and really work to make sure I'm taken care of and leave happy. I've been a customer for about 2 years and have seen the team continue to strive as they have dealt with turnover and management challenges, which has been hard, and I think has contributed to some low reviews, but I would not rule them out and give them a try.
