Left my thick eyebrows thin and very uneven. Second time coming here...the first visit was great and I was very satisfied with my eyebrow threading. I came back and it seemed like this lady rushed in my eyebrow threading. Before she started I told her I just wanted a clean up and wanted them thick. I was left with very uneven thin eyebrows, she also did not communicate...very different from my experience the first time here. CUSTOMER SERVICE- 1 STAR The lady who did my threading took maybe 5 minutes, disregarding any concern I had over my uneven eyebrows. I was trying to show her that one eyebrow was very noticeably higher than the other, but she just said that it's because she just followed their natural arch and if I want, I can just grow it out and come back again to have it fixed.. So she didn't try at all to make them match with each other, just looking at them individually, AND she didn't want to fix them right then when I asked her to. I was SHOCKED. She definitely looked like she didn't care at all, wanting to take my money as quickly as possible for the little work she had done. EYEBROW THREADING- 1 STAR EXTREMELY UNEVEN and she made it too thin, making it more difficult when I had to go home and fix it myself. PRICING- 3 STARS Cheap, but not worth for the 5 minutes of little effort she spent to finish her job. PARKING- 5 STARS Large parking lot, no issues finding a spot. I finally found a place that threads my eyebrows correctly. The workers are all knowledgeable and know exactly what's good and what's not. The first time I came here I asked to even out my eyebrows and I asked for a cleanup. She took about 12-15min threading, plucking, and trimming my brows. My eyebrows ended up being nicely threaded and cleaned. I especially like how they place Aloe Vera on your eyebrows and massage the temples of your head when they are finishing up. This was very relaxing and cooling at the same time. After getting my eyebrows done, they lasted about a month before I had to get them threaded again. They also informed me that the proper way to tweeze your eyebrows is by pulling out the hair the same way it curves. Otherwise, an ingrown hair will form. I didn't know that and I'm thankful they informed me. I paid about $11 for eyebrow threading. Although it's not as cheap as most places, I definitely recommend coming here. read more

Very disappointed with my visit today..usually it's always on point but today was a different story. I paid 28 dollars to get cut 4 times! Yes FOUR TIMES, then I had to come home and still pluck left over hair that should've been threaded off. The lady rushed me out and had attitude, she kept making sounds like as if she didn't want to do my services. When i went to go pay she told me "if there is a problem just come back tomorrow" i didn't pay no mind until i got in my car to look at myself, she knew she rushed me out because they have never told me that before. I took my daughter and I for the first time during early lunch time. The ladies were very welcoming and fast. They are very good at what they do. Price point was wonderful around $12 with tip. I recently went in with my wife to get facials. I was nervous because it was my first time haha but this was the most relaxing experience of my life!! If you can, ask for Heidi! She's super sweet, friendly and gives you great skin care tips. I recommend everyone to get a facial at this if you're feeling stressed or life's got you tired. It's a mini-vacation. If you fall asleep, which you probably will, they let you nap undisturbed and let you wake up naturally, time permitting. In short, super relaxing, super refreshing, you'll feel like a new clean person. Definitely go get the EUROPEAN STYLE facial. read more

I would definitely recommend coming to Grace Threading. I live in San Diego and my usual go-to place when it comes to my eyebrows is way too far and so I had to find another place where I could call my go-to, and that's exactly what I found here. I needed to get my eyebrows done for Friday, but it was hard to find a place that was opened after I got off from work (and I happened to get off from work earlier than usual) and also looked like a good quality place. I found Grace a Threading and called them as soon as I got off from work and was able to make an appointment for that same day and within the hour. When I got to the place, it was nice and clean and was greeted as soon as I walked in. Looking at the end result, I'm definitely coming back here to get my eyebrows threaded. I went here cause beauty by dolly is closed Monday's and I needed to get my eyebrows done. I'm actually VERY happy that I came anyways! The lady at the desk, didn't get her name, she was really friendly. I signed in and after I got my eyebrows done, I was convinced into getting newsletters and things via email. The lady who did my eyebrows, her name is Kouser! Before we got started, she asked me how I like my eyebrows. I told her that my eyebrows are really thin and I wanna grow it out.. Just clean it up a little. She did an amazing job! My eyebrows look clean although I'm still trying to grow them out. Thank you, Kouser! They also use stamp cards. i had a clarifying facial with Heidi, and she was wonderful!!! she was very sweet and nice and very patiently answered all of my questions during the treatment. she even gave me some tips on my personal skin care routine, with no nonsense of trying to sell me any products i dont need or anything like that. she was very pleasant and i felt like a New Woman walking out of that salon. ive felt a bit red and sore after facials, or the opposite where it feels like nothing happened besides putting a few random creams on my face. but this one left me feeling extremely relaxed and very rejuvenated, and the shoulder and head massage was so nice. definitely plan on being back, might even try going in for a massage next time!!! read more

So.. I totally cheated and plucked since my last eyebrow threading. I couldn't help it, they were growing wild.. and I'm one of those everyday tweezers. /hangs.head.in.shame I did however leave the hairs closest to my actual brows so they could be properly reshaped. I decided to try a new place since I've been hearing that Beauty by Dolly is one of the pricier places to get eyebrows threaded. I had remembered reading a few of my friends' reviews about Grace Threading and decided to give them a shot. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised at how informative the lady helping me was. My right eyebrow doesn't grow as long for some reason (that's why my hair is always parted to the right. Haha) but she said she could see the hairs starting to grow.. so I'm hopefull! /crosses fingers. She also pointed out a couple of areas where she left the hair so that it could grow out more. The process was a bit more painful than my previous experience else where, but she made sure that I was happy with my results. The aloe vera eyebrow and temple massage was a wonderful way to finish it off. For $10, I think I've found my new eyebrow threading spot! They even give you a stamp card, buy 10 and you get your 11th threading for free! read more

I'm pretty sure the threading service is spectacular at Grace's, but do NOT get the facial there, not worth it. The lady was nice who did my facial, but kindness does not cut it for the horrible treatment to my face. F-word... First of all - She used her effing fingers to squeeze the impurities out of my face. If that is the case, then I should've squeezed my face at home with a COMDONE! not my fingers. -It was painful in a bad way. (I wanted to cry inside because she was doing far more damage to my face, and my face is damaged enough) - After applying enzymes and such, she used a steaming towel to remove the remaining. The hot towel felt nice (I was hoping she'd stop there), but not until she decided to scrub my face RAW with it. -It hurt so bad. It was like using my gyms towel (equivalent to how it felt like) to scrub the hell out of my skin til it bled (figuratively). - I came out looking worst than I came in, I hope they can tell I was upset by the look on my face. - After my friend came to meet me, I cried because I was so upset. I looked worst than ever. I cried like a baby. - After I mustered up the courage to look at what that lady did agian, she left a fingernail cut on one of the acne. *I took a picture and will post it up soon. - I did NOT enjoy the whole process at all, I should've stopped her right when she decided to use her fingers and when she scrubbed my skin raw with the towel. You're not suppose to look worst or feel like shit after a facial...don't you agree??? The reason why I went there was because Martine was out of town, and if her service was great for other things, maybe the facial would compare. Now I have to go to my primary esthetican to fix the damage this lady did. Will never ever go again. As you can tell, I am effing bitter, I'm warning you. And if you decide to go anyway, enjoy the "extraction" and the towel scrub! grrrrr read more

Forgive me father, for I have sinned. It's be 4 long weeks since my last eyebrow wax, and although I've remained faithful to my waxing aesthetician for some 15 years, I cheated! Yes I did! I cheated with Grace Threading and I may never go back to waxing again! $10 for brow threading. That beats waxing hands down. This was my first time threading, and it didn't hurt at all. Nowhere near as much as waxing. I'm fairly particular about my brows, and she did a fabulous job. She was constantly checking with me to make sure I liked the shape and thickness. She can trim them down too, if you've got stubborn brows like I do. They were able to take me as a walk in since I was just having a simple brow threading, but call ahead if you want other services done. Parking is no problem. Ok, now excuse me while I go say 10 Hail Mary's and hope I don't run into my brow waxer anytime soon. read more

I've been back twice since my first review/experience in January 2011. This last time, was by far the most painful and worst threading experience I've had. I sat down, she begins threading I can tell something is wrong. It HURTS! Threading has never really hurt for me. I commented on it hurting, and she just kept going right along. After she finished both sides, they were stinging in pain. She gave me the mirror to inspect her work. I told her I was happy, and ready for my eyebrow massage. The massage was so short compared to other times I've been. She used aloe, pushed on my temples rubbed once over each brown a teeny smear of aloe. That's it. I was so disappointed, because I thought with the pain I had from the poor threading job, I would at least get a soothing massage afterward like I have in the past. When I sat up, she said, "oh! wait" and I leaned back into the chair as she gently pushed me into it. She then started threading AGAIN and used scissors to trim the eyebrows. No massage or gel. I looked in the mirror before I left, wasn't happy with more brow thinning. The worst part of the whole visit? I left with a bleeding mark above my eyelid. I'm not sure what she did to make me bleed and cause a scab, but she managed to give me one. read more

I have been doing my brows myself ever since an awful waxing experience two years ago in which my aesthetician was apparently inspired by the McDonald's Golden Arches. That day I vowed that if anyone was going to screw up my eyebrows, it was going to be me, dammit. On the up side, the incident did inspire me to cut bangs into my hair. What is the up side of doing my own brows? 1. It's free b. Embarrassing crying outbursts due to brow screw ups would rarely take place outside my home. 4. I would get my free MAC lipstick way faster with all the empty eyebrow pencil containers I'd be turning in to Back to MAC thanks to constantly filling in my screw ups. 7. I'm Italian, so screw ups don't last long anyway. 15. Screw ups are free. What is the down side? 8. I need glasses which I refuse to wear and can't even find...plus I can only see out of one eye. ii. I'm Italian and can turn into a hairy, unibrowed gorilla at a moment's notice. 4. I do not have the eyesight nor the narcissism required to keep the unibrowed gorilla at bay. So after spending two years perfecting "the fuzzy arch" and the "one awesome and one not so awesome brow" look, even my dog was looking at me as if to say "Are you going to fix that thing over your eyes and nose?" I decided to give Grace a call. Since no appointment was needed, I just showed up. The lovely Bana whisked me away to her chair, asked me what my goal was, and went to work. She explained everything she did despite having a thread in her mouth, trimmed my brows, and then reviewed what she had done and how to prevent another unworkable disaster should I get the urge to break out the tweezers. Total time in store: just over five minutes My brows look better than they have in years, and at $10 a pop, I definitely have a new brow girl. Quick, cheap, painless, clean, friendly, and fabulous. I love coming here for waxing services. The place is really clean and well staffed. Everyone is professional and friendly. The services are also very affordable. Heidi is a great waxer. She is very professional and efficient. She makes sure that she removes all the hair and doesn't leave anything behind. She gets satisfaction from removing hair which is probably the same feeling I get from removing zits She is also very fast so that you don't have to be there forever trying to anticipate the pain from waxing. I only make appointments with her now. This place has definitely gone through a bunch of different waxers and I'm glad that Heidi joined their team because she is one of the best waxers at this place. read more

Just like everyone, I've been going to Beauty by Dolly to get my threading done. It was the only one I knew of. It was a great place until it started getting crowded and new threaders came. The business was more interested in getting customers in and out since it would get so crowded and less on quality and satisfaction. At one time they had great service like that, but recently it hasn't been. The past times I've been going, i've gotten pinched so many times because of these new comers. Granted, they are very welcoming but im not about to go out looking like someone beat the heck outta me. ANYWAY, IT WAS THE ONLY PLACE IN MIRA MESA... until NOW. I found Grace Threading on yelp and decided to check it out. A few pros I must mention: 10 bucks to get threading (vs. 12 dollars at dollys), fairly new so less ppl therefore less time wasted waiting, they accept credit cards (dollys-cash only), opened EVERY day 10-7pm. SCORE. Oh and they give you a mini facial massage after! The ambiance is so nice too. Very relaxing. Anyway, they actually take the time and analyze your eyebrows before they start threading away. My threader told me what she planned on doing and what to do to get symmetrical brows. (i had thought they were pretty symmetrical since I've been going to dolly for awhile now).. After the threading, they apply moisturizer, not Witch Hazel astringent (which burns if you have cuts) and give you a mini facial massage. It was sooooo good. and for 10 bucks!! omg. They also give you a stamp card which is definitely a money saver. Get 10 threading done, next brow is free. That pretty much equates to 10% off all brow threading. And if you refer anyone, you get 10% off your next visit. So if you're tired of waiting at dollys or if you experienced the same things I have, TRY grace threading! While I have not had my eyebrows threaded here, I go here for an underarm wax since it is just down the road from where I live and it is super cheap. Unfortunately, I have discovered that they double dip their sticks!! A big no-no when it comes to waxing. Very grateful I do not get my brazilian here (due to the room being dirty and gross) and I will not be returning. read more

Shiva was wonderful!!! As someone with thick brows I'm always incredibly paranoid getting them done since people often take too much hair away, but Shiva made sure I kept my volume but cleaned up the shape exactly to my liking. She even used the thread to "match" both brows to each other and make sure they were even. She was super sweet and so gentle (didn't accidentally catch my skin) and I left feeling soooooo good with my brows. There's a parking lot, and no wait when I went in around 2pm on a Saturday!! read more

UPDATE: It is only fair to update my previous review because the owner not only followed up multiple times to apologize but also offered me a free service. I have been there multiple times since and have not been disappointed. I am leaving SD so will not be returning here but definitely try to find a new threading places that does a fine job like Grace Threading. I go here every two weeks for eyebrow and upper lip threading. Today, I had the worst experience. The thread broke 16 times (yes I counted because I was annoyed) and she did just such a poor job. Apparently it was closing time and her boyfriend was waiting to pick her up!! She didn't offer me aloe Vera and applied it reluctantly when I asked for it. I expect better when you're charging as high as 17 bucks. I'll definitely think twice before going again. Good job turning a loyal customer into an angry one. read more

My new go-to spot for threading. Mainly because it's located in the same plaza as my work. They work they do is amazing and the salon is very clean and comfortable. I don't have a regular person I go to, they all do great work and very professional. They put in the works! Doesn't take long either. I'm in and out within 15-20 minutes. Totally came in here incognito with a trench coat and sunglasses on in fear of losing my Man Card. Hey what can I say, my eyebrows were horrendous and with a scar on my left brow from fight club (oops) it was impossible for me to clean it up myself. Normally, I'd have my significant other clean it up for me, but she decided to move to another country...years ago. Walking in, I was greeted and asked what I needed. In a deep voice I replied, "Yah I need my eyebrows *cough* threaded." The wait was fairly short and OPERATION THREADING commenced. I was very thorough on what I wanted and feared I'd open my eyes with surprised shaped eyebrows. The process was done fairly quickly and painless. Based on other prices out there, $10 seems to be the cheapest WITH very good feedback. Overall first time experience was awkward, but glad my eye brows look better. Realized it was worth it to go all the way to black mountain road for threading. I just wanted to try this place out because it is closer to home. The lady kept going over my chin like 10 times with the thread like she was leveling a road. It is my skin and my face for heaven's sake! I had to finally tell her I don't think there is any hair left and that she could stop. I had been going to Beauty by Dolly and am a fan of threading. But after a particularly horrific visit to Dolly where I was wounded by an overzealous threader who created massive patches of pinches and red marks left from not making sure the skin was smooth under the thread, I walked out with ugly red marks all over my face and neck that remained for three weeks. It was time to try someplace new. I saw the sign for Grace Threading pop up in November because I'm a Trader Joe's girl as well. So after sitting around for a few weeks with overgrown eyebrows because I refused to go back to the maulers, I tried Grace. Wow, what a pleasant surprise! Preeti (unsure of the spelling...?) also did my eyebrows and really took the time to evaluate what I really wanted and my end goals. Did I want my eyebrows just cleaned up, what shape and style did I like (thin, full, natural, etc). As she was doing the threading, I could tell that she wasn't rushing or feeling hurried by the people coming in the door and waiting. She took time to make sure that she left everything balanced at the end by measuring both brows to ensure that there was nothing lopsided or uneven. And then... she performed the most relaxing brow massage after she'd completed the work. What a treat! Another bonus is the price. Only $7-10 and she accepts credit cards. Dolly is more expensive and although they accept credit cards, they charge you an extra fee if you want to charge anything less than a certain amount. I've only been to Grace once, so that's why I only gave 4 instead of 5 stars, since I had no other experience to compare. But I will be back! read more

So my usual brow threading studio that I go to is Beauty by Dolly but seeing as they are closed on Mondays and my brows really needed some love today, I decided to try out Grace Threading! After reading a few reviews on yelp, I felt like this place would meet my standards, which when it comes to my eyebrows, are very high. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted. There were three girls working and all three chairs were filled with customers. I waited about 5-8 minutes for my turn. My eyebrows grow in a VERY weird shape and I tend to just fill in the spots where I'm lacking eyebrow hair and usually have to show them a picture of my desired shape so that they can just thread it to that shape I want and I can fill in the rest with makeup later, versus shaping my actual brow with it's natural shape. Anyway, Lara did my brows today and she quickly went to work after looking at my picture. She did a fast but detailed job. Afterwards, I did feel like my right brow had more hair on the top and was thicker than my left brow and I just asked her to fix that which she quickly did. Overall, I think Lara did a good job. My opinion is that the threading work varies on the person shaping or threading your hair. Overall I would give my brow shaping/experience 3 stars and this establishment 4 stars because 1- it is clean, modernized, and beautifully decorated. And 2- it has very reasonable prices!! Only $10 for my brows!! I will definitely be back in the future (especially because of their loyalty card--- 10 eyebrow threads and the 11th one is free!) and now I feel like I have two really great threading studios to go to. UPDATE: After my last review 2 months ago, I have been back once. Like I said in my review above, your threading experience will all boil down to the person who does your brows! I came back and changed my rating from a 4 to 5 stars because I really LOVE how Sarah took her time with my brows and did a really wonderful job! I'm glad they have good prices, ($10) and that they do the loyalty card because those two things were my deciding factor in coming back here a second time after my mediocre first experience. I figure it is time for an update. I hate to admit it but I went back to Beauty by Dolly to try it once because my friends said they went there over Grace Threading. I tried Beauty by Dolly & something about Grace Threading always brings me back maybe because of the personal & individual service maybe because of the friendly people maybe because the wait is minimal maybe because the parking is ample however at certain times of the day it is CRAZY. I go during the morning to get my eyebrows done, everyone works well but I do have my favorites. I used to go to Elizabeth but now try to see Cipika, Anna or Sarah. The prices are consistent between the esthetician & visibly seen on their display board. $30 for brazilian waxing, $30 for acne facial ($5 for students). $20 for eyebrows, upper lip & chin. PRO - AFFORDABLE - opens 7 days a week - for threading the eyebrows they have a stamp card - discount for students on acne facials. CON - only 4 threadiest at a most. - could be a wait on the weekend if you don't go early I like going here, my eyebrows always get noticed when they are done. I am a happy regular customer. read more

I purchased a Yelp deal here on a whim which included a European facial, and threading my brows and upper lip. All in all, an interesting experience ... this was my first time having anything threaded and I'll most likely be back. My facial was pretty ... how do I put this? ... vigorous. It felt more therapeutic than relaxing, per se, but left my face very smooth afterwards. My brows came out a bit thinner than I'd like (I admit to being weirdly picky about this), but I was really pleased with the job they did on my 'stache ... threading seems to be much less traumatic than facial waxing (no burns, and the actual ripping-out-of-the-hair-by-its-roots part seems to go much more quickly) and didn't take very long, either. The whole process of threading itself is so odd ... add it to my mental list of "who the heck came up with that, and then persuaded other people to submit to it?" practices. ;) read more

The worst. Been coming here for at least 4 years. I'm getting married and this person not only gave me two waaaay different eyebrows, she tired to "fix" it and made my brows unbearable thin! Can't explain how furious I am. The front desk receptionist offered me To see a master artist who might help me but I've already lost more brow than I'd like to for my big day. Never again in my most desperate days will I trust this place. Advice to the incompetent artist, ask for help before you ruin people's appearance for their weddings. Especially if they tell you three times the brows don't match. Now I have to figure out a way to feel my most beautiful with one extremely rounded naturally thin brow and an extremely angular arched brow. Fuck off! This is the only place I'll go to trust people with my eyebrows! I've gone to different salons for waxing and have had them remove too much hair making my brows way too thin, I've been burned, and finally, FINALLY I can say I've found a place that I truly love. I've been coming here for I've two years, and let me say these women know how to do brows quickly and they keep 'em clean. The chairs they use are comfortable, the music is relaxing, and for $10 it's an awesome deal! I've had almost every people do my brows here and I know which ones are my favorite (despite never remembering names), and I'll never go anywhere else if I can help it. I especially love that they listen to what you want and always check in with you how you like it. I also get my upper lip threaded here.
