When I moved to Spokane, I was was on the search for a new gym to fit my needs and the needs of my family (I have two young kids 5 and 6). After dropping in for at least one class at all the local prospect Jiu Jitsu and MMA gyms, in the Spokane area. Newborn Cascão stood out head and shoulders above the rest. The kids classes are very well ran with, a good mix of fun, games and technical knowledge. All the coaches are patient with the young students and help with major and minor technical instruction. The adult classes are incredible as well. The instruction is nothing short of top tier and the students are a great mix of professionals fighters, causal material artists and beginners, as well as everything in between. All this paired with a friendly helpful gym atmosphere. Makes this not only one of the best gyms, I've ever trained at but, also one if not of my favorite gyms.

My children started jiu-jitsu with no prior experience at all, and now they have already earned their first stripes on their belts. It is clear to see the progress they have made thanks to the coaches' work. This creates a great sense of community and makes the experience even more special for families. I also attend the adult jiu-jitsu classes. The training sessions are intense and very productive. We spend a lot of time working on technique and practical application. After every class, I feel like I could wring out my shirt -- that's how hard we train! It's challenging, but in the best possible way. I am very grateful to Professor Sam for creating such an amazing place and for building a team of coaches who create a truly family-like atmosphere. This is a place where my children and I come as if it were a celebration.
